On Thursday, Virginia State Delegate Bob Marshall called for an end to public funding for Planned Parenthood, which offers reproductive services -- including abortion. Marshall argued:
"The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children. In the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There's a special punishment Christians would suggest."
Marshall has since said he believes no such thing. It turns out that Planned Parenthood advocates caught his remarks on tape, and now people can see for themselves.

It is very sad, that people believe that having disabled children was ever some sort of "divine vengeance." My mother believed, for whatever reason, that whether from God or the Devil, her giving birth to my disabled sister was a punishment for something. What? I will never know. She died with that sad knowledge, and belief. A life or torment, over a very sad, and stupid idea.
