Josh Nelson of EnviroKnow checks in with a chart of the latest estimate on the spill rate from the Deepwater Horizon. If you're looking for a topline number, it's 60,000 barrels a day. If you're looking for words, how about "#$%^, that's a lot of oil."
Writing on Firedoglake, Nelson also calculates the disaster is terms of you and me:
Imagine every single American dumping nearly a two-liter of oil into the ocean. According to the high end of the latest estimate, that is your share of this disaster so far: 1.75 liters.

If relief wells have been the only thing that stops these types of oil spills like the one in the gulf but take months to drill, why not require when drilling in deep water to drill not just one well but two or three wells be drilled at the same time so that there will be a relief well automatically if needed?
"relative trickle"? Right.....
Seems like Preacher Obama now clings to guns in Afghanistan etc. etc. and refuge in religion in the Gulf. My, how things changed from what he believed in before being elected. All he needs to do now is to convert from drinking wine to drinking beer and English to something more like a drawl to make the transition complete.
I believed it till BP said it.
Just wondering if there can be a segment on all the new technology patents that BP and oil industry is garnering via their "mistakes", also future books, etc. Shouldn't this be like when a criminal cannot benefit from their crime?
