Why would Washington change the Laws to enable and encourage American Corporations and Businesses to move to Asia and other Nations - removing American Jobs , Tax Revenues at Federal_State_Local levels, crippling our Economy and removing the Historically key ingredient necessary to pull America out of Recession:
Manufacturing Jobs based in The United States.
Did Clinton have it written that any and all overseas sales by American Business Manufacturing there would be Sales Taxed and those Sales Taxes be Repatriated back to The United States?

The destruction of American Consumerism as jobs here at home fuel the Nations Consumer based Economy.
Clinton and his Senate knowingly set up the Nations Economy for later destruction that we are now witnessing.
Corporate America is not interested in America.. there is no profit here for them anymore.. it's a 'Mature Economy' .. they are not Nation oriented .. they are Investor oriented.
Giving the Corporations more Tax relief is not in our best interest.
Giving Tax relief is just the same as giving away money - no difference.
The Corporates are doing very well with the boom economy in Asia which American Manufacturing labor is not involved in - a total break with existing Economic History as to generating a Nations Wealth and Stability.
Corporates pushed for Green Card Immigration so as to lay off American
workers here in the United States and replace them with Green Card workers
holding advanced degrees - the American workers are forced to train their
replacements in order to have a clean 'Lay Off' record as to be eligible
for Unemployment Benefits.
This is what American Corporates are doing for America .. and you want to
give them more Tax Breaks?
Corporate America needs to have their Overseas Sales Taxed and those
Taxes repatriated to the United States to make up for the loss of
Jobs_Federal_State_Local Revenues our Government is trying to
cover due to NAFTA and the changes to the FTA and GATT Laws.
These 'changes' are not written into stone and must be revisited.
For the time NAFTA has been in effect - that's plenty of Corporate subsidizing_Corporate Welfare in my book.. enough is enough ..
it has effectively sounded the Death Knell for our American Consumer based
Economy.
These people do not give a damn about the Nation .. they see America as
a base of Operations.
CEO of Microsoft Steve Ballmer a few months ago threatened the White House with
sending huge amounts of jobs Offshore should Obama bring up Repatriation of Sales Taxes to be levied against American Corporate Overseas Sales.
This son of a b_tch stated he would Organize American Corporations to send
their jobs out of America to counter any Repatriation on overseas sales.

Maybe he/she didn't express their point of view as succinctly or clearly as possible, but I have to agree with them, primarily because I have been saying the same thing for quite some time. This country is controlled by corporations and the ultrarich associated with them, and they have just one goal: to make as much money as possible, ethically and legally or not, and they could care less about this nation or its citizens.
Bravo, Tourville. It's good to see that more and more people are waking up to the fact that the biggest threat to this country isn't islamic terrorists, or an Iranian nuke, or other bogeymen from overseas. The biggest threat is the unbridled greed of multinational corporations that have ruined our economy for their own selfish gains and shipped our jobs overseas. It was a slow-motion, behind the scenes Pearl Harbor or 9-11, and the results have been far more devastating then either of those tragedies.

Rachel, I loved the Rubio segment and noticed a posting here about him being like gold to Democrats. I urge caution to my Republican friends when they make that trip to the polls this November because that which appears to be gold often is later found to be "Fools Gold", or is it "A Fools Gold". If Republicans vote for Rubio this November they will probably wake up the next morning wondering if their vote was for "A Fools Gold". There was also a mention of CNN and I wondered, Are they still on the air? LOL. Between Morning Joe, The Ed Show, Hardball, Countdown and TRMS where is there need for any more informative material.
All that glitters is not gold.
As a collector of western memorabilia I find it amusing that Mr. Koch actually believes that he has Custer's rifle, Sitting Bull's weapon, Jesse James's gun and Bob Fords. I've met several folks who also own the 'real' copies of these guns. If it sounds too good to be true...it usually is. Let the buyer beware and in the case of the ultra rich that old adage is even more true. More money than sense is a dangerous thing when collecting and I've known several well known dealers and buyers who have been burned. It looks to me like the Koch cellar also holds other frauds besides wine.
When money is not an option, then value and authenticity become a moot point.

I lol'd. Over, and over, and over again. Shame you won't run for office, Rachel. It'd be nice to have someone who actually knows what she's talking about running things. I do have to concede, though, that "Not Running for Anything. Ever." is a glorious campaign slogan. It's actually very Republican. If nobody ran for any office, ever, then we'd have an awfully small government in our democracy, wouldn't we.
I've fantasized about a Maddow/Olbermann...or an Olbermann/Maddow...ticket for 2016 (since I see Obama going through 2012!)! C'mon, Rachel!!!
I found Rachel through Keith. Not that I think either of them would care, but I've become more and more of a Rachel fan than a Keith fan, although after the Ben Affleck thing on SNL, I have to at least give Keith huge props for his sense of humour about himself. Rachel seems more purely guided by reason, not just than Keith (who is far from irrational), but than people in general. It's an extremely admirable trait in our time. I'd definitely vote for Rachel.
Me too, Jason: I found Rachel through Keith. Actually (dig this!!), my GRANDMA is a huge Keith Olbermann fan, and then one time (and this is some time ago!) she decided to stay up "long enough" to catch Rachel's show, and she became totally hooked on both! Because of my grandma, I started watching Keith and then Rachel, and now I consider myself at a great disadvantage when I'm not able to catch both shows. If I had to choose, I'd watch Rachel even over Keith: Like you said, Rachel is intensely reasonable. Plus, she's hilarious! I have a degree in journalism and might've pursued it if I'd've had a mentor as amazing as Rachel Maddow.
I always try to watch both, and I actually watch Countdown first because it airs earlier, so I feel compelled to see them in order, but if it comes down to it and I only have time for one news video podcast, there's no decision to even make. TRMS hands-down. Well... unless there's a guest host, then I might see if Countdown has Keith or not.

OMG!! Hilarious, Rachel...so funny, I watched it again this morning. I have 2 serious comments:
1. Do explain to the scaremongers and other users of imprecise language that the "budget deficit" and the "national debt" are NOT the same thing. You might use your wonderful wall and non-sticking, double sided tape, again to illustrate the difference and how the one is conquerable and the other...not so much.
2. For the Toms and other ilk who dislike the humorous aspects of Rachel's and Keith's shows: if we can't laugh at ourselves, you @#s, we are certainly lost. The world is full of violence, greed, stupidity, ugliness and fatheaded insistence that we all have to think and believe the same way. For the sake of our sanity and survival, we must retain our senses of humor!
Rachel's version makes more practical sense. Maybe she'll let rubio use it and hope he learn a thing or two about Deficit ...... learn the word first rubio don't just say it :-)
ps: rachel you shouldn't run for anything, ever. the senate need someone on the outside to teach them.

Keith needed a vacation. It's obvious that he's still taking his father's death hard. Baseball is an excellent way to help heal the wound. (I still wish we had Division races that meant something going down to the end of the season. The wild card ruins the thrill of the chase.)
Besides, Rachel is more than capable of picking up the slack while Keith's gone. O'Donnell should get a good lead in for his new program which starts this fall. It's going to be a great block of programing for us Eisenhower Progressives to watch...certainly a great alternative from the reality shows being offered on the networks.
