Florida Republican Senate candidate Marco Rubio made an ad named "Maddow," in which he suggested you should trust his economic platform because "Rachel Maddow thinks it's wrong."
We responded with our own ad, "Rubio."
And now, as you can see above, Rubio's back with "Again, Rachel?"
We're cranking away on tonight's show, or else we'd maybe drop everything and craft a response to the response to the response. Which means that you get first crack at it.

Donate to Maddow!
You know Rachel, I've been watching your show every night. Respect your honesty, the research so evident in every topic you discuss. You have a gift in how you break down the complex to its simple understandable individual parts. In other words, I think you are the best journalist and/or politico on cable t.v. (I do like Keith too.).
However, The fact that Rubio has single you out as a campaign tag speaks volumes about how much "power" he grants you with every ad, response to your response ad...etc. And speaks not so much about himself. When Rubio thinks of you as his major "threat" to his being elected to the U.S. Senate, and the veracity of his "policies", what does it say about how he thinks of himself and his policies, and the voters of Florida?
Great response. Now that Rubio and the representative have come out as Tea baggers, I guess we know what he stands for. Is he a birther, too?
Where's the "I'm Marco Polo Rubio and I approve this message" tagline?
I believe that's only required for the airing of political ads on television and not the Internet. I could be wrong though.
HAHA what? The music is back! It's really the best part of the whole thing.
I think Marco Rubio has a little crush on somebody.
you're right, maybe he does have a crush on rachel! that's too funny! and the music is great. it's actually quite a brilliant ad -- i'd love to know who is handling his advertising. they're obviously quite good.
but i seriously believe these right-wingers have realized that they can get a lot of free milage out of Rachel if they play their cards right and put things in a such a way that they beg a response. they really should be ignored...
Who doesn't have a crush on Rachel? |=)
Good point! How couldn't Rubio fall for her charms? Maybe these ads are his way of writing love letters. He's no Mark Sanford, of course.
this guy sounds like a real smart-ass jerk, who is just taking advantage of the free exposure you're giving him. if it were me, i'd kick him to the curb real quick -- either that or send him a bill for your services!
Polo.
Just read through a bunch of messages posted by this dude's fans on facebook, and it's just another bunch of idiots who can't even figure out how not to make the same post less than ten times. spewing hate towards Rachel (and anyone and everyone else not leaning to the extreme right) seems to be what they use the majority of their brain cells for. it's pretty amazing stuff: http://www.facebook.com/MarcoRubio?ref=share
Rachel, take the high road on this and don't give this guy the satisfaction or the free exposure. let Charlie Crist do his own campaigning...
The "bunch of idiots" elected George Bush twice, not to mention the "bunch of idiots" they've already put in the senate and congress - And there are many many more ready to take over. If it's true that Fox News is so popular, O'Reilly is number 1, and MSNBC does not have as many viewers, then we really need to do something. Unfortunately, I don't know what.
Text, e-mail, and facebook your people!! I do! I tell them to turn on Rachel and hear what she has to say. Rachel Maddow is the truth. Sometimes the truth hurts.

Florida's in a hole & Marco Rubio wants to run against you .
Your obviously hitting a nerve because he's reacting.Keep it up
One time was funny, Rachel. With this one, Marco makes clear he's baiting you. As lunarmagpie says...kick him to the curb and don't give him any more free miles.
I don't know if Marco Rubio has a crush on you, Rachel, but the person producing these commercials CERTAINLY does. I bet he (or she!) spent the last two days running around the office going "OMG, Rachel Maddow replied to me! She liked my music and everything!"
*headdesk* He convieniently forgets who started the recession that lead to that 11% unemployment.
Try some facts Mr. Rubio. Go on, knock yourself out.
Remind Mr. Rubio you're not on the ballot, don't live in the state, have a significant other & don't need an insignificant one like him. Then send him a bill for use of your name and image in his campaign.
Who doesn't have a crush on Rachel Maddow? She makes everyone Intellectually Horny.
Thank you, Cedarflame, for giving me my new term for the day! You have conveniently explained for me in two words why I cannot get enough of Rachel or Chris Hayes. They just make me utterly intellectually horny.
Well... <ahem> ...I guess that's one way to put it.... <blushes and fans self>
USColdplyFan: No problem I have been saying that ever since I started watching her show.
Dutchie...deep breaths...deep breaths.
rachel you do an amazing job with every peice of news you share with us. your research and ability to lay out your case is amazing. i truly enjoy watching you each night and i do wish that you were on for two hours each night. what you do nightly should be the blue print for democrates. a detail explaination of the fact, not lies. i especially love your peice on the national deficit. it is amazing how much lies, mistakes the republician have given the democrates. however i don't see the democrates pounding this mistakes and lies. you should teach them how to do it and where to do it. with you doing what you do nightly, the democrate stand a change of not losing too much. keep up the good work.
Ha, ha! Rachel might come to the MSNBC studio one day and find that Rubio has put a frog in her desk!!!!
i was going to try adding relevant political commentary but given the dribble above I see that your readers are exactly like your tv ratings.. not much.
Hater!
You might want to check her ratings again and stop parroting things....
Jeff. if no one watches then why would Rubio feel the need to put out an ad responding to Rachel's comments?
Jeff, I think the word you were trying to use was "drivel", not "dribble"......but I'll be happy to offer you a Kleenex.
at some point rubio has got to come up with stuff that he should be working with rather than using Rachel's name. First Brown, now Rubio using Rachel's name to tout for cheap-publicity. Like Rachel says "Who's next?"
This is going to be a classic!!!! Keep up the great work.
Ms. Maddow:
I've never seen you wear jewelry until this evening with that ring on your right, middle finger. Special occasion ?
Cordially,
John Fuller Perry Hall, MD
Rachel, clearly you are a force to be reckoned with or else he wouldn't have countered with this pathetic ad. I say go for it only because the exposure will also draw attention to your show and knowing you and your staff over there, you will come up with something very clever.
I'm watching the show on I-Tunes later today - can't wait!!
I think Rubio may have some "Manchurian Candidate" in him. A few people I know have picked up on how he bristled on a softball question from Savannah & Chuck re unemployment.
I think it's possible Rubio may HATE the unemployed, and be ready to explode if just the right button is hit. Let's see if anyone hits it!
Rachel,
Now it's to late and I know you know what he is doing. Using you to drive up donations. Scott Brown did it, and it worked for him. Rubio doesn't give a damn about you and the people who watch your show. The people who watch his commercials and are going to donate don't watch your show. I know you know this. Why you took the bait on this one I don't know. Just be sure to destroy him to the point where nobody thinks to do it again. Thanks.
Could someone do a statistical analysis of the number of right wing loons posting here at maddowblog compared to before the first ad?
Has anyone googled this guy? He's $103,000 in debt, hardly a fiscal genius, and he used music from the Steve Miller Band without permission in one of his ads. His ideas about tax cuts and cutting the deficit coexisting are misinformed at best, catastrophically stupid at worst, and Rachel could take him down in 10 seconds.
Politifact is on the case, and they're on Maddow's side.
