It truly is NOT rocket science that we need to find and USE alternative/reusable energy sources NOW. The hold up is political/corporate yes?
Paul Watson suggests intelligence should be measured by how a species lives in harmony with the environment and surrounding species etc. Years and years from now will history possibly report on how frickin' stupid we are/were during such critical times? Or better yet, just frickin' stupid? *sigh....
Man, I live on that river in the summer, further west in a small former artist community, the town of Saugatuck/Douglas, Rachel you would love it there.
So far it seems to be contained, but YEESH, how does 800,000 gallons of oil leaking go unnoticed?

I've vacationed in Saugatuck, it is BEAUTIFUL!! So sad to see yet another oil spill.
How many billion $$$$$ will this cost BP? Will the leftover BP money from teh $20 billion fund be used for this cleanup or for Obamacare?
Well, I'm sure that's it. There won't be anymore oil spills after this one.

Does anyone remember why Dearborn,Michigan is owned by people of the Middle East?It's because of the Tax Abatement given to the folks whom decided to come here Tax Free for 7 years,to build a business and flourish.In turn pass this deferral down to relatives and continue to build their business and never pay taxes on the income.Who made this happen and why?Do the 1980's ring a BELL?Maybe all of the hate that is currently directed at foreigners should be directed at the Republicans who made this Country what bit is today?I give President Obama a lot of credit for what he has accomplished considering what Murdoch and the rest of the MONEY people can pay for!

There is no way on this earth that:
1. Solar power will work especially around the great lakes
2. Wind power look at the satistics, you would have to cover half of the country with wind mills
3. Either can be more economical that: Oil, Gas, and coal
4. Only possible alternative is hot air out on democrates and socialists this could cause a surplus.
I was actually interested in what you were saying until number 4. I wanted you to supply some facts or articles supporting what you say. Now I see it just you.......with your stirrer...
I'll give you one first hand. I live in Oklahoma, my business is in moving oversized equipment most of which is GE turbines, blades and towers for wind energy. Do you know where we pick mostof them up? San Diego coming in from China because they are to expensive to produce in this country due to high taxes should I refuse the work because they come from China.......don't think so my friend
