(The old list of endorsements included more anti-abortion groups and fewer famous people.)
Christine O'Donnell has launched her new website -- or brought the old one back with fancier trim, a bloggier look and a few fewer endorsements. You'll remember that she stripped the site of everything but a page for donations after winning the primary on September 14.
Now she's back with a new list of endorsements that's backdated. Each gets a nice blog write-up, making it look as though the item got posted in a (small) swell of big-name conservative support for O'Donnell of the election. She shows us Pam Geller signing on back on May 7 and the Tea Party Express backing her on July 27. The Family Research Council chimes in on August 12, Sarah Palin on September 9, and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) on September 11.
UPDATE: You can find a version of the old list off on its own here. Several of the smaller folk haven't made the carry-over to Christine O'Donnell 2.0's Endorsements page. The list of those left out:
First thought: O'Donnell added celebrities and dropped obvious anti-abortion groups, including ones that are still actively pushing her candidacy.

If the voters are dumb enough to buy the whitewashing of this nut as they appear to have done in Kentucky, then frankly they deserve what they get.
Unfortunately, she's running for the US Senate, not the Delaware State Senate, so it effects all of us, not just her voters, if she succeeds.
this is a very small point but the Catholic Families of America is listed but it goes to a website called "Catholic Families FOR America" I know it is a small detail however we have had other examples of "supports" for things and they are made up. Going to the website it is support O'Donnell. Interesting she can't get the name of the group right on her support list. I am so sadden by the support since the Catholic church is a big fighter for social justice and I think O'Donnell is too narrow minded for that.
Catholic church for social justice? Only if you think buggering children I social justice.
It seems like this midterm election is bringing about the end of moderates, will the democrats have the same problem in the next election?
i read on the Huffingtonpost that this organization is not a real one, that it is run out of someone's home.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/chris-kelly/christine-odonnell-cited_b_721207.html
I take the huff post with a grain of salt though.
Hopefully, the people of Delaware will see through this charade and vote using common sense. Since the TPX is backing her, and they are based in Ca., people will see that they are only interested in supporting themselves, and not the citizens of Delaware.
What a circus this has become. What has happened to American politics?
She got 65% of her votes in Sussex county. Here in DE, we call Sussex county "S-lower Delaware". Jokes are made about IQ levels "below the canal".
Indeed what is happening? Well, hang in there, keep talking and voters , vote!! If all of the folks so sickened by the turn of events and those who will give President OBama sometime to show how the Democratic agenda will work for us going forward, then all will be ok. But I agree, the right wing is more scary than some of the terrorists threatening us!
At least Christine O'Donnell and the Tea Party finally found a campaign song. "The Tea Party Hymn of the Republic"..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI8ZoWrUrCs&feature=related
Well chosen song. Images were rather spooky; but symbolically, we do tend to resist pulling back the layers to expose what's beneath, because then we have to face it.
Oh, but I don't think they would choose that song personally. It would only shed light on some in their group. But with any luck, they might just hear it haunting them in the background for the next two months.
Never trust any organization with "Family" in its name.
People really have to do research.. it is like saying .."Healthy Choice" on a food, and finding the amount of fat, or sugar or salt is really not good for you.
FWIW, as a web developer I must say that her web site is poorly done and does not look very professional. The navigation is nightmarish; the formatting is old-school.
May God help us all if this nut, along with Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Sharron Angle, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Paladino (very scary man) get into office.
However, there is a God and then their true colors will shine through -- remember Newt, Sanford, Vitter, Ensign and the list goes on! Truth and justice always win!
Cathy, I do hope so! If these haters and hollow people get into office there are only a couple of outcomes: 1) they become so egregiously nasty and venal that their violations of everyone's Constitutional rights are apparent and they are impeached immediately (not a big percentage), 2) they run afoul of the lobbyists/gifting/ethics regulations because they have no clue that the gifts and donations have to be done a certain way and that some contacts are illegal...and we get them that way (larger percentage there). The trick is to send them all to federal prison before they take over the military and come after us! In that case, we are no longer a Constitutional Democracy and our best bet is to run for the nearest border!
True. fear is that some of the most far out will actually pick up those guns, "re-load"( aka Palin) and start shooting! We are a country that prides itself in its calm transfer of power and change of President ; peaceful demonstrations ( for the most part) and supposedly do not take the law in to our hands without true consequences of our actions! Inciting to riot seems to be a right wing tactic too..
What is the ( Susan B Anthony) Organization??? It Sounds Feminist, I Doubt It!
Diana B
Thats Right---- Marco Rubio---- He is Another One, Who Has Yet to Go on Mainstream Media!
Diana B
Ya'll talk nice about Christine now or she'll cast a spell on you!
To get the voters out in November, we need to talk about what the Democrats are FOR, and how it's better than what these scary people are trying to do -- nitpicking about names of endorsers isn't all that productive, imho.
Now I understand who voted for her, but I'm still wondering what happened to the rest of the state? Does "lower" Sussex have more people than the rest of the state or did they not care?
Hopefully, Dems and progressives can mirror the Fox/GOP/teaparty Axis of Evil, (I've concluded that the parasitic organism "tea party" has matured, leaving the dessicated husk of the GOP behind, is now standing up as the THEOCRATIC PARTY), and have a more or less co-ordinated attack to re-energize Democratic voters, and pull independents back away from the AoE.
Blogospshere and liberal commentators should make O'Donnell etc. OWN THE CRAZY, don't let them off like they let Bob McDonnell off in VA, where he immediately set about instituting the "New Confederacy".
They should make O'Donnell the face of the GOP, and they should make sure that the mainstream media sticks to the facts on the economy (Bush ran up the deficit, the 2009 budget was his, etc. , the GOP is obstructing the recovery, etc.),
Let the Dem candidates stay focused on the economy and jobs which are only going to come from clean, renewable, domestic energy, energy efficiency, and the 21st cent. infrastructure. The Dems should stay away from the crazy.
Hang in there with me for a second.
Here in N.Texas, (Young Co.), BP had signed a contract for a wind farm slated to start in 2010.They got property tax breaks etc. from the county. (pub. school funds)
Now, due to the dropped price of nat. gas, and "other reasons", they've put it on temp. hold.
Now they have to renegotiate a new contract. So, in other words, if they had an energy bill nationwide which had subsidies and tax breaks readjusted for clean energy we would have those badly needed jobs and development.
Clean, renewable, domestic energy, energy efficiency, and the 21st Cent infrastructure are the only areas for our economy to grow into. There are millions of middle class, working class, PRIVATE SECTOR, unexportable jobs to be created out of this.
The crazies and the "social agenda" issues are distractions. Rachel is documenting O'Donnell's makeover as a "fiscally responsible" conservative.
There's not much time left before the election. The media has to make C.O. own the crazy, and Dem. candidates need to punch through the news cycle on the economic issues, and stay there. Please help them.
I'm not so sure. The media tried to make Palin own the crazy and look what happened. Do we really want Palin II running around here? The base needs to know about it (Dem fundraisers, townhalls, etc...), yes. However, I think the media needs to stick to COD on policy as much as possible.
I just can not, in my wildest imagination, believe that a catholic organization would support a nut like this. I am catholic and believe in catholic values, but this weirdo goes way beyond the pale for anything even resembling religion let alone catholic values.
So do you masturbate and confess, or not masturbate?
http://ccc.scborromeo.org.master.com/texis/master/search/?sufs=0&q=masturbation&xsubmit=Search&s=SS
It is not "beyond the pale." It is right there in the catechism.
I've watched most of the videos of this women from the past and all I can say is...Heavan Help Us if she, or any of the other right wing nutcase teabaggers get into office. These videos need to be blasted all over in Delaware. I realize these go back a few years, but she hasn't changed. Other than, she's become a more proficient liar. I know the American people are fed up. But is voting O'Donnell or any of the other nuts the answer? None of them are smart enough to hold such high positions. Do your homework...that states that still have high unemployment are republican govenor states. These govenors are not releasing stimulus money to create jobs...FOR A REASON! Also it's common knowledge that most CEO's are republicans...they have no intentions on hiring until republicans are in power again...so they can be assured of their tax breaks. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!
while i think she is beyond the pale for many reasons the support of pamela geller alone should be a deal breaker for anyone with even a modicum of common sense. why she would feature that is beyond me.
yeah, yeah it appeals to her base but dear god it should drive off far more folks than it attracts.
as far as the website itself it's still pretty sparse. and some of her bio and defense statements are both wrong and easy to challenge. we all pad our resumes but her bio is a testament to creative writing and she will be called on it i'm sure.
but hey, having lain on a bloody satanic alter she will no doubt be able to call on other worldly help in her fight.
The more you talk about her, the more famous she becomes. I don't know if it is a good idea to keep pointing out the err of her ways. This is free air time and is the same tool that made Sarah Palin's star shine. We've fed into it long enough. She ran, she won, she's a loony - enough said. Let's talk about how the Democrats are finding enthusiasm. Let's highlight all of the rallies being planned and get people out showing their support.
Agreed Jo Ann; we need to harness the same energy. We also need to point out that O'donnell does not represent the values of America, and her candidacy is a charade being managed with smoke and mirrors; these tea party candidates can't handle an exposure to the truth. I don't believe in bashing a candidate (I don't recall anyone checking McCain's birth certificate,) and lying about a candidate, but I do believe that a candidates past is fair game. I would say that the Christian right should get just as upset about her dabbling in witchcraft, as they got as upset about the President supposedly being a Muslim! The double standards of the right will ultimately end to their defeat when the issues, and the candidates, are exposed to the truth and the facts.
Agreed; it is the same thing that helped make Palin who she is today. Coons ran ads about COD's craziness so that the people of Delaware could see and that only seemed to make them madder at him. Dems can use the material to rally up their base, but the media should stick to covering as much of COD on policy issues.
Terry Jones (pastor in Florida) wasn't scared before 9/11 or just after 9/11 when he decided to burn the Koran and carry a gun; just 3-4 weeks beforehand.
The President's religion would never have become an issue before 9/11 and should never have become an issue if the GOP were really upholding the Constitution as much as say they do. So what if he was? There are lots of Americans who are; are we going to stop and ask them all what their religions are before we go into their place of business (as someone put on my site).
McCain's past will catch up with him, including his birth certificate too.
@Jo Ann, you are very correct..We should be focusing on getting our enthusiasm back and to get the vote out..the same ppl who voted in 2008 should be nudged and let's go..THere have been improvements made, but the damage was so huge it is going to take time to repair..It is hard to see when it is so dynamicly big..We should be demanding the Republicans plan, what is it? They want to repeal everything that has been accomplished, for what? We have a good education bill.We will have stability in the health care reform once the glitz get ironed out and there are many other things that Pres.Obama has been able to ge thru,(Luckily) b/c he has a "Society of No" wingnuts that are getting paid by our taxes to do absolutely NOTHING!!! Come on everybody...let's get the vote out and let's get fired up for the President. and u know what? we need to show Wall Street and the banks that we can make it without them..let's support the small business and watch them grow,we can do this..there are enough of us out here that we can pool what few bucks we may have and have our own banking industry..if we are going to invest then we should do it here in this country..keep our jobs "here"..
Isn't it interesting that we laugh and shudder at the same time about the eccentric things that Roman emperors like Nero and Caligula did during their reigns, as the great empire began to totter and collapse, yet we somehow don't see the same thing happening in our own country now? Was Nero any nuttier than O'Donnell and her mice with human brains? Was Caligula any more dangerous than Sharron Angle or Rand Paul? In the future, historians will look back at 2010 in America, and note that this was the year when Americans gave up on sanity in their government, and decided that the insane should run the show.
By the way, Christine, if scientists put a human brain in a mouse, does that mean you got the mouse brain? Nah, even a mouse is too rational to spout the crap that you are spewing.
What? The Gun Owners of America but not the NRA? Oh my.
For those who don't know, the GOA is to the NRA as the Tea Party is to the GOP. Yeah. It's kind of funny that way.
The only good Evangelical is a silent and homebound one.
I can't believe anyone would support a person who believes masturbation is LUSTFULL!
I've never known anyone who lusts after their own body parts, but then maybe I'm missing something!
It's astonishing how quickly enormous amounts of "bat-crap crazy" are being mainstreamed in right-wing American politics.
I believe the driving force behind this is the fact that there are no facts - and so no lies, no hypocrisy. Who can't think of a dozen examples? Here's one: Christine-O lying about beating Joe Biden - then lying about tying him!
Her explanation? She was tired that day. Then she wanted to see the official stats so she could clarify matters. There is simply no penalty for being a sociopathic liar!
How about from now on - you lie as a politician - you go on probation, where another lie, confirmed by an independent panel - kicks you out of the race, or out of office.
In the past we've relied on a person's guilty consience to keep lying in check. But the sociopaths running for office these days do not have the ability to feel guilt. So we must stay on them like white on rice, with actual punishment for being a lying sack of crap!
