Next up in the game of "Persuade Jon Kyl to Let the New START Treaty Pass" is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who the New York Times reports has already been heavily involved in lobbying the Arizona Republican senator:
Any misgivings Mrs. Clinton may have about letting down Mr. Putin are likely to be outweighed by the administration's fears about souring relations with all of Russia if the treaty is not ratified.
Noting that the Russian government has cooperated with the United States on Iran and Afghanistan, she said, "This is also a treaty that is critical to our bilateral relationship with Russia."
It's weird to think one politician could derail everything in the world, but them's the facts. You either get Sen. Kyl to do the right thing, or you force him to look ridiculous doing the wrong one.

Wow. First Republicans obstruct every effort by President Obama and the Democrats to pull our country out of the Bush Recession.
Then they promise to continue such obstructionism for the next two years because their number one priority is to make sure that President Obama is not re-elected.
Now they are endangering our national security by blocking a sensible nuclear arms treaty simply because they don't want to allow President Obama a foreign policy victory.
It would be nice if Republicans would start putting our economy and national security ahead of their petty political games.

Isn't there SOME way we can indict these guys for "high crimes and misdemeanors" for endangering our national security? Isn't that called "treason?" Wouldn't -- say -- Prime Minister Putin, for example, take somebody like Senator Kyl out and summarily shoot him?
I'm with you, Treason is the word.
The question becomes, How to indict, what court and who has the stones to actually prosecute?
Doing the right thing is no longer in the repertoire of American politicians of either party.
It's too bad that none of you bother to resort to doing any research to find out what the facts really are. I can tell you now that you haven't got the facts from Rachel Maddow or anyone on her show. They are after ratings and catchy headlines and that's about it. The START treaty is full of flaws and does NOTHING to enhance our security, in fact, it could derail our security. Those are the facts and you can verify that by actually doing some research on this treaty. By the way think progressive, the Bush recession was caused by Democrats that were at the helm, get your facts straight as well.

He's doing the presidential thing. It's the spoiled and clueless brats in the Senate , (both sides, Mary Landrieu) who are selling us out.

Sen Kyl against the world because A. the republicants would bring the cold war back to fund their military stocks in their portfolios, and B. they don't have any other real answers to real issues, so they will go back to the scare tactics.
