"...You have to look at this whole thug-politic tactic for what it is. We have heard of no investigation. The AP has been tipped off before our lawyer or our campaign or anyone has ever been notified. . . .I am confident we have always done everything to comply with all the rules and regulations, and I'm confident that we will be cleared of any charges."
-- Christine O'Donnell on Good Morning America today. The former Republican Senate candidate from Delaware made the rounds of the talk shows this morning, responding to a report that the FBI is investigating whether she used campaign donations for personal expenses. We'll have the best tape for you tonight.

i wonder if there's some Bush Doctrine in her statement: "it's permissible because the lawyers [or campaign manager, or religious figure, or Jesus, or whatever in Chrissi's case] said it was."
I love how she uses the royal "we".Nobody else was living in her town house when she used campaign funds to pay for it if the Blessed Virgin O'Donnell can be believed?.Running for office & being famous for making statements that prove the veracity of her stupidity are how she pays the bills.Nice work if you can get it.I wish I could pay my bills like that.Unfortunately its illegal.
Tom DeLay also tried to politisize his case, just as witchy-poo here is doing... So there's hope. DeLay is scheduled for a good stint in prison. O'Donnell has been LIVING OFF of being perpetual candidate; common knowledge. Not that she's in the same criminal league as mafia don DeLay.
She thought running for office was like being a spokesperson for a non-profit political/religious organization. And during the past 40 years of Republican corruption that has pretty much been the case...until The Law finally caught up with the conservatives.
Welcome to the Constitution of the United States and all the laws it made possible. Christine O'Donnell, for all of us...including you.
I hope Miss Christine is just the tip -- so to speak -- of the iceberg of TeaParty officials and candidates who get into trouble because they don't really know the Constitution and the laws that they like so very much to wave in the faces of the rest of us. I hope the next 2 years show every single TP member of Congress elected this year getting caught for some ethics violation or some conflict of interest. Learn the rules before you get into the game and pay your dues in the minor leagues before you aim for the majors...that's the American way!
Christine O'Donnell has yet to hit a single much less a home run.
Can't wait till she makes the rounds of a grand jury with this defense. She better have her receipts and records in order. If she doesn't, its going to take more than witchcraft to keep her from a court trial.
It's not what the public thinks. It's all about the facts. And it's pretty obvious that she doesn't have many to work with for a decent defense?
Well, at least she has plenty of money from her campaign funds to pay a good lawyer. Whoops. can't do that legally, can you?
She rented a townhouse to use as her campaign headquarters because people kept coming to her house? If this is her defense then she better get ready to meet "Big Mama".
But think of the creative possibilities! She can run a new ad: "I'm not a crook." Okay, admittedly that's not original, but it still could bring in even more money donated for her defense fund.
Perhaps TLC could present a reality show entitled "Christine's New Townhouse: No Curtains For Her Windows." Or, "How Christine Learned To Play Well With Others." I would prefer this to Failin Palin and Kate Goslin making angels together in the Alaska snow.
Can't we just forget about Christine O'Donnell? Please?
Before we forget about her, we need to call into question all the media outlets that knowingly let her come on and spin a story whose facts were presented last September and ask "what took so long?"
This is the same as Newsweek awarding the biggest lie to GOP's "Government Takeover of Healthcare" EXCEPT every media outlet REPEATED the words over and over in their coverage instead of calling it A LIE immediately back then!!!
We are teaching a generation of young people that it's not only OK, but encouraged that they SHOULD LIE as first resort when confronted with personal wrongdoing.
Nobody ever gets in trouble for going on TV and LYING their AXX off especially when it concerns misleading people, like the healthcare.
Every congressman and senator who spoke those words should be prosecuted for malfeasance, for knowingly misleading their constituents. A special prosecutor for congressional malfeasance should be empaneled--NO MORE LYING!
As I remember, the only thing that caused one President to be impeached and another to resign was not any crime it was LYING.
It is amazing that the folks who talk about the constitution seem to be so ignorant about laws. Unfortunately, we have to continue to talk about ODonnell, Mamma Grizzly, cry baby Baehner and all the crooked politicians until we get them and the folks who support them to understand that being a crook is like being pregnant, you either are or you aren't. I spent 25 years of a government career fighting contractors, military officers and civilian executives who lacked a basic understanding of ethical behavior. I watched officers put unqualified personnel in positions that they lacked the basic skills to perform effectively. I watched contractors take advantage of dumb government employees causing defective materials to be accepted by the government and I saw contracting officers admit that they did not get what they contracted for but they were happier than pigs in slop with what they got. I was watching and at personal cost was able to get these situations rectified. I had an Air Force Colonel tell me I could not see shades of gray. He got retired because of me. We have to keep paying attention to these people for the good of our Nation.
Unbelievable! This person can still look into a camera and declare her innocence? Still refudiate the facts? That's just plain STUFID!!!
