This is a screengrab from Sarah Palin's website Take Back the 20, taken moments ago. One of the crosshairs in Arizona appears to be for the district represented by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, a Democrat. (First iteration of Ms. Palin's map here.)
Rep. Giffords, who'd just won a third term, was shot today in the head outside a grocery store while meeting with constituents. The Arizona Republic is live-blogging coverage. The latest from them says Ms. Giffords is in surgery in very serious condition -- UPDATE: The paper says she's out of surgery and in intensive care. A federal judge, John M. Roll, and a Giffords staffer were also reportedly killed. MSNBC says the alleged shooter, 22, is in custody. In all, six people are reported dead. The toll includes a nine-year-old girl. Eighteen people were injured.
ADDING: As several commenters have noted, there's no indication that the alleged shooter was politically motivated. Even if the perpetrator turns out to have been seriously involved in political causes, which again there's no evidence of, his actions will likely remain senseless. What we can say is that today's shooting, whatever its motivation, comes after an election season that was marked by the language of violence, like Sharron Angle's call for Second Amendment remedies. And so today's literal violence in a political context will inevitably raise questions about the effect of violent rhetoric.
Firedog Lake and David Safier each link to an ad they say came from the Pima County Republican website in June. It invites people to a fundraiser for Ms. Giffords' opponent, Jesse Kelly. The ad urges:
Get on Target for Victory in November Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office Shot a fully automatic M15 with Jesse Kelly
At the time, candidate Jesse Kelly tweeted that the event had gone great -- "great turnout," "great success." He tweeted a couple of pics from the event, including this one:

Today Mr. Kelly tweets, "We are all deeply saddened by this morning's shooting. Gabrielle Giffords, the other victims, and their families are in our prayers."
Sarah Palin has offered her condolences over Facebook. After the November vote, Yahoo noted that Ms. Palin's Take Back the 20 campaign "scores a bull's-eye." Ms. Giffords' seat was one of only two Ms. Palin's favored candidates lost.
ADDING: House Speaker John Boehner issued a statement saying he's "horrified by the senseless attack." President Obama called it an "unspeakable tragedy."
After today's shooting, Ms. Palin's website went down. It's possible that it's simply being overwhelmed with traffic, though the error message I get says my browser "can't find the server." I was able to screengrab a couple of the pages before the site went dark. If you've got more, share links in the comments, please.

Sarah Palin's map with Gabrielle Giffords' name.
From our original post last spring. You can also find this on Ms. Palin's Facebook note:

I'm so glad this was posted, this is the first time I've seen this correlation from a press source.
That is because it is stupid to make the correlation. You will not see it anywhere other than press sources similar to this one.
See a similar Democratic graphic using targets in 2004!
Here's the link minus www
dlc.org/ndol_ci.cfm?contentid=253055&kaid=127&subid=171
If link does not appear google "dlc heartland strategy" and you'll find it.
Please repost or retweet that hitlist map as much as possible, Sarah Palin needs to be in jail for this BS!! 2011/01/08/sarahpac_0.jpg
So you're saying that words like "Don't Retreat, Reload" doesn't in anyway plant the seed for this type of behavior? I read the report from the AP and was instantly reminded of those very words, they are spot on when making this correlation.
Sure, but the difference is that democrats didn't use the type of rethoric that palin and all the other right nut jobs were and are using now. Democrats didn't incite violence by referencing it to 2nd admendment remedies and such. You righty's are always bashing democrats for being anit- gun, so if we're so anti gun obviously we're not going to be using language that pretains to guns are we?
Those are bullseyes RobDon targeting areas where the GOP is weak with voters. Nothing close to what was presented on Grand Dutchess of Teabaggers site using crosshairs.
Grasp for straws much?
Your comparison of Palin's strategy vs. the Democratic strategy is off "target." Palin's crosshairs on specific people is way different than the Dems targeting bullseyes on entire states as a goal for victory.
Targeting states is different than targeting people.
That's what you always say, "we are different."
So if a politician said at a political rally while campaigning the following:
“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun."
You would have to know if the politician was a Republican or a Democrat before you could say if it was promoting violence. Do you know who said it? Any idea? How about President Obama?
Find it hard to believe? I don't, because there is nothing wrong with it. It is political speech. It is meant to be metaphoric, not literal.
This act today was committed by a deranged individual who chose to commit violence, not because of a chart posted to show political opponents who need to be targeted during an election.
We don't even know all the facts and the Left simply can't contain themselves while people are grieving, they have to use the opportunity to try and make political gold from straw. IMHO.
Rob Don, The DLC Democratic Leadership Council graphic you reference uses targets for states not crosshairs for people. This is not a small difference. Especially considering the tone of the times.
RobDon. Genius...some people are unable to make distinctions between literal and metaphorical. Are you forgetting the woman who was a fan of Glen Beck who went armed with weapons and a camcorder to go liberate a FEMA camp? That fan of Bill O'Reilly's who shot up a church? The assassin of George Tiller? What did Sharron Angle mean by 2nd Amendment remedies? You just witnessed it.
The dems had targets on states, not people.
The shooter was neither left nor right or anything mainstream and it's doubtful he was influenced by anything mainstream. So, the finger pointing is kinda moot.
well... *this* guy wasn't a fan of Palin's... he's a fan of Bill Maher's... and PROBABLY Rachel Maddow. Anyway, how DARE Maddow blame the actions of a lunatic on a poster??? Was Maddow upset the Congresswoman wasn't killed? I hope she's back in a month...
So you agree, Obama should be condemned for his statement and cited as participating in the rhetoric leading to violence that most posters here seem to be promoting.
The exact point I am trying to make by demonstrating that the same type of rhetoric is heard on both side but the individuals who do these types of horrible crimes are not politically motivated, they are sick.
...Including the Left spouting individual who shot up the Discovery channel in the name of global warming and Al Gore. He was a sick individual, not someone making a political statement.
Someone who is anti-government has a political motivation. It's just not a Democratic or Republican motivation. Democrats favor certain types of policy while Republicans favor other types of polices. People who are anti-government oppose both parties, all policies and just don't want the government to stand at all.
You really can't place someone in left or right boxes based on their views on one issue. Whether someone leans left or right is based on their views on a set of issues.
Jamie, Rachel Maddow hasn't blamed anyone. You're just adding to the noise of blame, hypocrite. The only thing Rachel Maddow has said regarding this incident is:
http://twitter.com/#!/maddow/status/23853704297840640
oh, of course not... *wink, nod* The repeated mentioning and showing of the map is merely to illustrate... ummmm... that.... well... yeah. I'll have to think of a good reason, since NOBODY on this thread (particularly the killer) had any idea that there were "crosshairs" in that part of the map of Arizona. So, why did Maddow make reference to the map, particularly BEFORE it started leaking that he's a left-wing dingbat?
Jamie, you're conflating the Rachel Maddow bloggers with Rachel Maddow the person. The author of the above blog post isn't Rachel Maddow. It's clearly visible if you took off your anti-Maddow goggles.
And I think, in general, people should stop focusing their discontent with ideas onto specific people. Take Rachel Maddow out of your crosshairs. If you have a problem with an idea, then attack that, not the person.
Don't give me the "but she did it" excuse either. Be the change you want to see...if you indeed want to change it. I don't think you do, since you get way to much joy out of attacking a specific person.
Tail wagging the dog. Maddow is reporting on Palin's removal of this map. Instead of asking why Maddow is reporting on it, you SHOULD be asking why Palin removed it in the first place.
Here's a link to Ms. Giffords speaking last march about the site Ms. Palin posted and the violence seen at her offices and death threats she received after the health care vote.
RobDon, you make an excellent point (thank you for the link). And I've requested DLC take that posting down out of respect as well. As a dem who receives email from OFA, I've sent responses requesting they initiate a change in tone of the discourse from Republican and Democrat to here is what we would like to do and opponents want this. Until we can return to civilized discourse and debate, we will not hear one another, solve anything nor avoid another day like today. When one of our representatives are attacked in this manner, our democracy, our society is attacked. I would feel similarly if Ms. Giffords affiliation were Republican, or if she had spent her career fighting for that which I abhor. A nine year old girl died today. Out of respect for the loss of who she could have grown to be (for better or worse) perhaps we could try to talk with each other. To remember we are all americans first, we disagree about the problems, their severity and their solutions, but perhaps we could simply negotiate respectfully.
@Robo: that is a list of highlighted states which democrats wanted to win. It was not a top 20 laundry list of people. Huge difference. Surely you've got a better reference.
I knew someone would try to say he's a left wing democrat.
After all, he listed The Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf among his favorite books. He must be a liberal!
It's a crap line of reasoning (so called) but it's to be expected. As is the intellectually lazy efforts at false equivalence.
It's been said already, but it can't be said often enough that we simply don't know what motivated this shooting. Still, it's kind of interesting how the right-wing reaction to this has been so defensive when, as I said, we don't know what the motives actually are or what if any political beliefs the alleged shooter has.
Right...no snark directed at you Monk. But I've still got a belly full of snark. Of course it was a left-wing nut bag who tried to assassinate a DEMOCRAT.
So, STATES that were targeted after the 2004 election are the same as individuals being targeted because of a single vote? Crosshairs associated with individuals are the same as bullseyes associated with an entire state?
I think that's a bit of a reach, eh?
If you read the actual article, it's a strategy paper on how to win voter's hearts and minds in general. It targets no one by name or even calls for the ouster of anyone. Your premise is flawed, your correlation is absurd.
FAIL
Compare the "red" states from the National Mental Health Association with Sarah Palin's web site.
www.nmha.org/go/state-ranking
Notice any similarities?
This is a 22 yr old nut job, with conflicting reports of his "leanings", but definitely exhibiting signs of schizo, which typically set in in the 18-22 yr range. His college even booted him out. So yeah, we're all angry here and want to lash out at the other side for "inciting" this act, but the dots definitely can't be connected yet, and may never be given this guy's level of mental health.
Yes, the Right has its "2nd Ammendment Remedy" et al nut jobs... but I'm not so sure this is a sure fire example of it. This kid appears whacked out of his mind. To go out on a limb and make that connection, at this point, is vastly premature... and letting the anger get the best of us. Time will tell.
It's possible, maybe, that this act is linked to his weird ramblings about literacy (and whatever 'literacy' means to him). I know that doesn't seem to make any sense, but then the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan was motivated by an obsession with Jodi Foster; insane people have insane motives.
But even if the alleged shooter is judged to be insane and the shooting lacks any coherent political motive, it's still the case that the violent, divisive and apocalyptic rhetoric coming from the right is a problem. Just maybe not a factor in this case. We'll see.
Although a post below claims the correlation is "stupid" and "only from press sources such as this," I've read and seen the correlation made in several other media sources - radio, TV and print. Guess the correlation may not be so "stupid" as republicans might like to believe.
You called them "bullseyes" the article calls them "targets" and the graphic has a subtitle of "behind enemy lines."
Yes, it is a stretch. Just like it is a stretch to say that Palin was calling others to pick up a gun and shot these individuals. Combat language has been used in elections for generations.
We may disagree to what extent, but BOTH sides use it. I was impressed that Olbermann stated last night all politicians and pundits need to take a reflective look and then apologize for anything that could be "a stretch" and interpreted to promote violence.
To point to one side, even as it being worse than the other, does little to solve what many perceive as a problem.
As a side note: It is amazing to me though that this outrage is not pointed in other directions. Music and media glorify killing, gangs, drugs, rapes, domestic abuse, and violence and there are more and more victims EVERYDAY. Seems someone with a mental or psychological deficiency has acted out in these ways much more often than in the political arena. Where is the outrage directed at these channels of violence promotion???
See what happens when Hate Merchants do and say anything they want?
Bullseyes are bullseyes, crosshairs, no denying it, especially coming from heavy gun reference people, like the Palin's of the world. Speaks for itself why she took it down. A scoped crosshair on AZ's District 8?
There is no denying the lopsided nature of the political reality, with guns, the worship of guns, gun advocacy, NRA, guns openly brought to rallies with sign of "the tree of liberty..." quotations, "second ammendment remedies" references and hatred groups finding comfort & bedfellows on the right. Not even close. To deny otherwise is living in an altered state.
But this case seems to involve a very young, potentially schizo person. Far too early to make any connections and shameful to do so at this point. If he's schizo... then he is what he is; losing his mind. At great cost to others.
Time will tell.
It is regrettable that when tragedies like the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords arise, opportunists seize the moment to further their interests and careers. Within hours of the shooting, when every journalist was scrambling to get the facts, Keith Olbermann of MSNBC went on the air with one of his “Special Comments.” The comment exposed Mr. Olbermann for what he really is. He is not a journalist. He is an opportunist with no moral boundaries. It is obvious that he will use any tragedy as an opportunity to further himself, even before the facts are known. As the tragedy was just beginning to unfold, he couldn’t run fast enough to his computer, get on the air, and dazzle us with his Edward R. Murrow impersonation. He accused “politicians and commentators” (“Sarah Palin,” “Glenn Beck” and “Bill O'Reilly”) of being responsible for “murderous domestic terrorism.” Shamefully, he attacked his adversaries at a time when we didn’t know if the shooter was politically motivated or a nutjob who got his instructions from a talking dog. He didn’t care about the truth or what possible injury his words might cause to others in their time of grief. Like any narcissist, he cared only about himself. It is important that we see people like Mr. Olbermann, who pontificate behind fake news sets, for what they really are.
Right. "Second amendment remedies"- Angle. "Bullets if not ballots" - the whackjob who was almost Allen West's chief of staff. Not to mention that guy in Texas who was proposing violent insurrection if conservatives didn't get their way, two of them in fact. Not to mention Allen West himself.
What did you think they were talking about? Paintball?
Thank for sharing this;although those who sympathize do not seem to understand what this is doing to our country! I fight the temptation to become paranoid and think that this is a terrorist attempt to divide and conquer the U.S.
Guys,
I'm not a huge fan of Sarah Palin. I understand her appeal. In today's political arena filled with people who have never run a business and looking to live our hard earned dollars - anyone with a little charisma and cheerleader good looks can take the white house - however understand the motivation of the guy who did this - even though reports are early:
ABC News reported Saturday night that Loughner had identified among his favorite books "The Communist Manifesto" by Karl Marx, Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf," and the fiction classic "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" — hardly the reading list of a Palin supporter.
Other clues have emerged about Loughner's persona from Arizona press reports:
The left is the one promoting violence, not the right.
Because Sharron Angle, Allen West and his almost chief of staff, Sarah Palin, Bill O'Reilly, and Glenn Beck are all a bunch of left-wing socialist commies, right?
Please get her name right! GABRIELLE
Got it, thank you.
Her name still has not been fixed, there is an extra 'r' in it in the first paragraph.
this is unbelievable.... why can't Palin be held accountable for using her words to kill.... this is akin to someone provoking someone to pull the trigger... we knew something like this was going to happen... how come we allowed it????
Give me a break. "Using her words to kill"...Seriously? This reminds me of blaming musical acts when peoples children go crazy and commit suicide. OMG it must be the music! Place the blame where the blame is due. I'm not even a fan of Sarah Palin but you people are on a witch hunt and there is no reason for it. No one knows what motivated that young man. You're reaching for someone to blame this horrific tragedy on. If we KNEW something like this was going to happen, I would assume some kind of action would have been taken prior to this occurance. Just because she threw some crosshairs on a map does not by any means equal her saying "hey go shoot these people"
Get Real.
full pic with 20 names of the 20 "targets" listed in palin's "take back the 20"
wow. No coincidence, we know this.
Conspiracy theory in the works.
Right, Don, and what would you suppose the motive might be for gunning down a congresswoman, a judge and others at a public gathering? To suggest that it isn't politically motivated insults the intelligence of everyone on this blog, especially yours.
Agreed, the chances of this actually being politically motivated, or at least solely so, are pretty slim in my opinion. It is like the guy who shot his tv and threatened to kill his wife because of Bristol Palin on Dancing with the Stars; a crazy person is a crazy person, regardless of political ideology, using the act of such a person as evidence of one side being worse than the other, especially when there is no real proof of the person's ideology nor motivation, just feeds paranoia and pointless, counter-productive political arguments.
"Political motivated" makes it sound like it was a well thought out sane calculated strategy. It was the act of a deranged individual. He shot a child! And you think it is the product of a political strategy?
You don't think it was politically motivated, either? Is it that we disagree with the definition of 'politically motivated'? I don't think that Palin's website CAUSED the shooting, and neither does Laura Conway or Will Femia. The point is, this violent rhetoric is indicative of a larger problem.
Did the shooter do what he did because Garbrielle Giffords is a member of Congress, and because he disagreed with her political positions? If the answer is yes, then this was a politically motivated assassination attempt. That's my assessment, and if you disagree, I'd like to direct you to the alleged shooter's youtube channel:
I don't think that Palin's website CAUSED the shooting, and neither does Laura Conway or Will Femia. The point is, this violent rhetoric is indicative of a larger problem.
Have you read the comments on this posting? If you and those mentioned do not believe that it CAUSED the shooing, someone (you or MSNBCer's) needs to post a comment disclaiming the direct connection because it seems clear to me that most of those commenting do not believe as you do.
I do not think this individual shot these people out of political motivation but out of a a sick view of life and a very disturbed psychological problem. He shot them not because he had a political view he wanted to express but because he is a 'sick' individual.
NBC or MSNBC has not really linked Palin per-say but, it is one possible scenario.
One can connect this shooting to the larger context of violent language used in the last elections and still not be saying that violent language CAUSED the shooting. In fact, I think that is exactly what the staff of the Maddow Blog IS saying:
It's like the "Wanted" fliers targeting Dr. Tiller. When we use violent language and imagery and symbolism - especially when we connect them to actions - like removing people from office or closing an abortion clinic, it creates an atmosphere where such violence can be seen to be condoned.
Yes - usually the person who actually picks up the gun and aims it has some issues, but we cannot look at these events in two separate vacuums - you cannot argue that a society and culture seeped in violent images and language has no affect on the people who live in that society.
It's intent vs impact - you can't always fall back on what your intent was when you want to distance yourself from the impact of your words.
It matters when we use violent language in political discourse (on either side of the aisle). It matters when we use derogatory language to talk about minorities. It matters when we use dismissive language to talk about people coming forward with rape claims.
What we say matters. The words we use matter.
.
I agree, but words have context and are not always literal. Obama said speaking politically, "“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun." Did he mean those words? Yes, only as an analogy.
huh, I never said anything about a conspiracy, or political motivation.
This is what I meant about no coincidence. I don't know if the palin board was to blame, this guy may have been just biding his time, waiting for the gun act to kick in before going on a rampage. We won't know until all the facts are presented.
~But the whole things sucks, and my heart goes out to each victim involved
'PHOENIX — Favoring the constitutional right to bear arms over others' concerns about gun safety, Gov. Jan Brewer on Friday signed into law a bill making Arizona the third state allowing people to carry a concealed weapon without requiring a permit.
The measure takes effect 90 days after the current legislative session ends, which likely puts the effective date in July or August.
"I believe this legislation not only protects the Second Amendment rights of Arizona citizens, but restores those rights as well," Brewer, a Republican, said in a statement....
By eliminating the permit requirement, the Arizona legislation will allow people 21 or older to forego background checks and classes that are now required.'
That is why so many members of the right wing political and media establishment have been shot to death and why Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter all have to wear bullet proof vests and armed security guard detail because of the threat posed by Obama supporters, yeah? And all of those left wing commie rallies with their inflammatory violent redderick waving guns and machetes makes you just want to pee your bed in fear, doesn't?
Your assumption is that the listener is rational enough to understand the analogy. This is not a good assumption. Remember the lady at the McCain rally that said she knew Obama was a Muslim? Even tho McCain corrected her - she shook her head in disbelief.
You cannot assume that all listeners are sophisticated enough or education enough to know an analogy is different from a call to arms.
Gabby Giffords is my friend and these tea party nuts should be ashamed of their rhetoric and actions. The insanity of inciting people to violence to remedy election losses should be a wake up call to all good Americans. We need to turn off FOx News and all the right wing nut jobs on the radio.
I agree in the fullest. Inciting limited thinkers to respond with violence is an unthinkable tool. For those involved to then "apologize" is galling & nauseating. "In the name of God", " In the name of America" Go stick your head in a toilet!
"We need to turn off Fox News and all the right wing nut jobs on the radio."
Absolutely! Is this the 'second amendment remedy' that Sharron Angle was talking about?
To steal a line from the West Wing, if they're shooting at you, you know you're doing something right.
I think this image says it all......could have easily said "The Tea Party - Brings People Together". Hope you can see it.
It doesn't matter why the shooter is crazy...the fact is there are crazy people in this country who will take things the wrong way, and it is simply irresponsible for any public figure at this point to continue using violence, gun and Nazi-related metaphors in political discourse. It's not necessary, and even if it didn't "cause" the violence in this instance, you can't reasonably argue that this sort of charged political dialogue helps anything.
This was the version I saw
Copy of the original is here: alan.com/2010/03/24/palin-puts-gun-sighs-on-target-map-says-ti/
where it specifically lists Congresswoman Giffords.
Huff Po has a screen shot of Palin's Take back the 20 map along with a list of of the names being targeted, including Gabrielle Giffords. Here is the link:
Bah, even though I edited this and twice pasted the link, it wouldn't display so I sent it to you via the photo uploader. In the meantime, the alleged shooter purportedly has made a YouTube video, Jared Lee Loughner
..and of course, look for Palin to defend her website as not inciting violence. She'd better hope to the Lord and Lady that this kid doesn't turn out to be some extreme right wing nut job !
Jared Lee Loughner. He seems to be a nut job of some type. The Huffington Post, in an article timestamped 4:20 today (EST?) posted three of his YouTube videos:
If genuine, it looks like he is deeply troubled. I'd love to get a psychologist's take on them. My guess is they indicate schizophrenia.
Sarah Palin is now trying to claim her gunsight map of Dems wasn't her doing. Notice her signature at the bottom.
The site is not even showing up on a internet archive site.
http://www.takebackthe20.com/">http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.takebackthe20.com/
I've seen it both up and down, and also the SarahPAC.com site, both up and down. It could just be from heavy heavey traffic in both cases.
No, this is an archive site, it shows historical pages from old and current sites.. and it's not showing anything for Palin's site.
Of course...
RT @KeithOlbermann Countdown airs tonight, Saturday, at 8 PM Eastern, 5 PM Pacific
Keith should remind everyone of Sarah's little "hit" map listing Rep. Giffords as a "target" Keith's "special comment" should be a doosey...
Myself perhaps more than many would like to see this kid say, "Sarah made me do it." That's not gonna happen. I don't like SP, but what I would like to know ... is she...would she be truly devastated if this kid did turn out to have some motivation for this from her or any other crazy talk concerning 2nd amendment remedies? Reminds me of the days when Rock and Roll or Heavy Metal bands were blamed for kids suicides.
Personally, I think this could be the first crack in the dam...the flood gates of a frustrated beyond tolerance public, acerbating people to do crazy things because of the economy...no jobs...foreclosures etc.
My heart goes out to those victims of yesterday...I hope this does not become a trend.
Shows map along with names and districts.

The "crosshairs" election map in its entirety...
Just in case the Facebook site attempts a quick scrubjob, there is also the Huffington Post image:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/08/sarah-palin-statement-shooting_n_806224.html
The last news update during the UConn women's basketball game said there are mixed messages coming out of AZ: Some say Rep Giffords was killed; others say she's still being treated at the hospital. I hope the latter turns out to be true, & she survives. Either way, tho, this was a horrific event. We keep hearing that elections have consequences; well, so do words. It was only a matter of time before the violent language used by Palin & her ilk resulted in violent behavior by their followers. Their version of 'freedom of speech' is akin to shouting 'Fire!' in a crowded theater, and should be stopped for its incendiary nature.
Hopefully, the MSM will NOT give so much air time to the loonies out there who have the gift of the internet to spew their hateful speech.
Absolutely agree - to an unbalanced, unhinged mind, words can be incendiary leading to tragedies like today's.
There must be something that can be done to stop these people from suggesting radical ideas to unstable, troubled minds. And since the NRA makes it quite easy for any nutcase to get guns, I have to believe that firearms should be made illegal for everyone also - or at least tighten the restrictions on gun sales.
Here is another site that copied that Targetted 20 list:
boingboing.net/2011/01/08/sarahpac_0.jpg
Palin is quickly removing all violent rhetoric/bulls-eye maps from her FB website...removing any evidence of complicity. I give Sarah a few days before she complains about being the "victim" in all this. As for Sharon Angles, and her "second amendmant remedies" rhetoric, haven't seen or heard a world from her, not even a statement of sorrow and prayers for the victims...how cold and cowardice.
And she'll demand an apology for infringing on her freedom-of-speech rights.
Oh absolutely! And even worse, legions of faithful idiots will be whining in harmony that poor SP has yet again been victimized by the nasty liberal press that wants to destroy her. (They think "liberal" is a curse word - have you noticed?)
I will give SP this much: nobody can sell a paranoid delusion like she can.
Remember what they said: "If ballots don't work, bullets will."
That was Rep. Alan West's (R, FL) proposed chief of staff who made that statement. Words do have consequences...

Correction to previous post
Palin has blood on her hands! When you put crosshairs on a person, you are in fact condoning murder.
According to one Twitter member, Sarah Palin just removed her old "Dont Retreat, RE-LOAD!" tweet.
Palin hasn't deleted either her Twitter message or the accompanying Facebook entry.
It's too late, the damage has been done. Ms. Palin should be ashamed of herself, along with Gov. Jan Brewer.
And don't forget Michelle Bachmann's 2nd Amendment right's remedy:"...spilling the blood of patriots once in awhile..."
I can't get a screen shot but this is what it looked like last spring when the huffington post reported on it, and yes, Gabrielle Gifford's district is in one of the cross hairs
Isn't Sharron Angle from Arizona? Wasn't she the one who said that if the Reps. didn't get their way the second amendment would be utilized??? This makes me sick!
Nevada, she was Harry Reid's opponent.
right Nevada, but the second amendment has been utilized so I hope she's happy! :(
She is from Nevada but Yes You're right she did say that..
It's looking that way. I'm hearing that it was a point blank shot so it looks to be premeditated. Nevertheless, none of us are 100% certain that this wasn't just some random event.
I feared y'all would forget the illustrious "second amendment remedies" line from Angle...
I swear...
However, bein Maddites, how could we? Our brains are not made of teflon.
Hers was the first name that came roaring into my mind. Where is she? What has she been doing?
