This totally sums up the political blogger mentality. There was even an episode of The West Wing devoted to the concept. Love it!

Rachel...I believe this all began when the vote for the 9/11 responders bill was being debated.

I think that a calculation was made by conservatives during that debate that, judging by the lukewarm response of the public initially to that bill, (short memories), that they could go up against any unionized members, which, the men at the center of that vote represented

It wasn't really until everyone SAW the men on Jon Stewart's show that the everyday American became the center of the conversation. The zeitgeist of the current moment began there.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought of that skit every time I see news about the David Koch/Scott Walker drama. Ironically enough, I think it might actually be the only available online version of Burroughs reading that piece. But I guess there aren't that many occasions that call for posting it, since it's not every day that someone is such a flagrantly wormy boot-licking strumpet in public.
