Can you believe that using the Rossi E-Cat, one gram of nickel gives 2000 kilowatt hours of energy?  That means that a super tanker full of oil (2 million barrels) is equivalent to less than a ton of nickel (approximately 1500 pounds)!  Can you imagine the visual of that little amount of nickel on the deck of a super tanker??  Wow.  Hope Rachel mentions this new clean and cheap energy technology as her favorite thing in the world:)

This will be my last post on the subject. Using LENR (low energy nuclear reaction that produces gamma rays for heat), the Rossi E-Cat gives the following energy index for nickel (as compared to more familiar energy sources):

Hard to believe. The Nickel Age is dawning! Rossi is Prometheus!! By the way, nickel is 3% of the mass of the Earth (much much more than any other fuel).

Romney Would Sign Ryan Medicare Plan

In an interview with ABC following his campaign announcement, Mitt Romney said that he would sign Paul Ryan's Medicare overhaul plan if it crossed his desk. He also said that he would come up with his own strategy for reforming Medicare: "His plan is not the plan I’ll put forward, I have my own plan.... I’ll be putting that out before I debate President Obama."

With that statement, Romney has taken the same stance as Tim Pawlenty. Except for Herman Cain's full embrace of the Ryan plan, it is the right-most position on entitlement reform in the field so far.

Didn't Breitbart basically blackmail Weiner on national TV? He basically said he was going to publish the photo if Tony Weiner ever said another bad thing about him.

Seems like blackmail to me. Last time I checked thats a crime. What happens if Brietbart ask him to vote for a bill? If he doesn't vote for the bill then he will publish the picture.

CONNECTICUT TO RAISE TAXES TO BALANCE BUDGET

Have you guys totally missed this story? Haven't heard or seen anything about it. Wow. From the Friday Financial Times, page 4, middle: In order to balance its state budget without cutting important state services, the Conn. legislature and governor are proposing a mix of budget cuts and tax increases. Model for other states? The Fed Gov? How about covering this one?

Re: The U2 concert piece, which featured prerecorded video of astronaut Mark Kelly sending a message to Seattle and to his wife from space.

It's a pity that this heartwarming story suffered from a needless blemish because of Dr. Maddow's apparent cluelessness regarding one of last week's top news stories.

She twice assured us that Mark Kelly was up in the International Space Station "right now". Actually, Kelly and his crew returned from space on June 1, several days prior to the concert, bringing shuttle Endeavour back to Earth for the last time.

1. Enough about Paul Revere. Most halfway intelligent people are aware that Ms Palin is incapable of speaking off the cuff; that she needs a teleprompter, notes written on her palm or someone whispering in her ear. The question before us is: Is this woman qualified to lead a nation? I think the answer is quite clearly.........absolutely NOT.

3. Romney and Obama are now neck & neck in the polls, what is your take on that? Do you think Romney will be the GOP candidate to watch or Cain? What about Weiner should he resign? Should we start bringing our troops home from Iraq now? There are many more important things to consider.

Perfectly said! "Neutrality" is defined as tolerating and propagating lies generated by leading right-wing politicians.

A couple things about the creepiness/liability-to-prosecution graph.

1) As is common with graphs, this one was scaled to fit the available data points. But consider the creepiness factor of sex with blood relatives. Or the prosecutions that include beheading. What I mean is that if you added in European royal figures from their heydays in centuries gone by (I'm looking at you, Henry VIII and Peter the Great,) all the examples you used last night would have been bunched up in the lower left corner. So huzzah for the relatively mild nature of our politicians' scandals.

2) Creepyness/ickiness might work better if you split that stuff into two axes. One axis would be for Forced Creepiness, where the person is using power over others to get off, and the other would be for, um ... Freestyle Creepiness? I mean stuff that's among consenting adults.
