Labor organizer Peter Rickman tweets this picture of people registering to vote in Milwaukee, at a Wisconsin Jobs Now block party.
Elsewhere in Wisconsin, Governor Scott Walker is reportedly working to close 10 DMV offices. State Democrats say the offices up for closure are in Democratic districts. Starting next year, Wisconsin will require voters to show IDs at the poll. The DMV is a primary source for those.

Common on please!! This is just so blantantly obvious. Here I have a solution to the "problem" of people voting under the wrong name, and its free and we all have one. Fingerprinting!! But honestly this is horrible. Its is obvious voter suppression and someone needs to file legally regarding this
Unless the State wants to issue a photo ID for free, specifically for the purpose of voting, this amounts to a poll tax. Aren't those illegal? And why isn't the DOJ knocking on statehouse doors after these laws are passed?
And since when did unconstitutional laws always get to stay on the books until they are thrown out? I thought that the court had the power to "review" a law before it takes effect, effectively having a judicial veto... (not an expert just vaguely remembering government class). Is that notion completely unfounded? Obviously case law can change things but I thought that laws had to get the "okay" from some judicial body before taking effect. Is it just a rubber stamp in most cases?

Wow Rachel ! Very Very scary.. talk about insightful .... I am a white man who was homeless ( only for a week when I was helped by a friend in my early 20's ), I paid for my own school, ( have an A.S. and A.A. , rhode my bike to the library to list things on ebay that I bought for change at yard sales to pay for my school.
After about 16 years I am not wealthy but not living paycheck to paycheck...
Listing to the report tonight we should believe that what happened 100+ years ago affects people today ? I dont think so ! and it seems like your replacement wants white people to take care of black people. I have been a Democrat since Clintons second term.
Now I see the Republican point of view and I dont feel I fit in to either party.
I think many Americans feel this way.
Please explain why a persons color gives them any right ? White, black ... how does what happened even 10 years ago give the right to ANYONE a hand out..
