Funny how SMALL the word JOBS appears in the Republican word cloud.
Look at how, in the Republican wordle, the word Republicans is as large as the word Americans, and how in the President's wordle the word one can't even find the word Democrats, or Democratic party.
I also nothiced that the word 'WRONG" is twice as big as the word "Jobs" in the red cloud while the the word "RIGHT" .. is half the size of Jobs in the Democratic Blue cloud . . . All in All the red cloud looks very Angry and Self Absorbed ... the word Republican is like an Acre big ... what a bunch of losers they are. . .
If you look closely at the upper right corner of the republican word cloud you can clearly see "Three Dollar Bills".
Cosmic Freudian slip?
Daniel's cloud should be black, because he went so dark or yellow because he peed all over Obama's speech... at least he was short.
Wow look how big Work is for Obama and how small it is for Mitch Daniels... Once again the GOP agenda shows ZERO concern for growing jobs only ways to increase the wealth of the very top.
I'd be interested to see the bitter Pizza Man's word cloud too.
Do they make word clouds in crayon?
I mean, because he really shouldn't be around any sharp things.
again, the GOP fails to talk about jobs. <face palm> Isn't it unpatriotic for their hatred for one man, President Barack Obama, to be so much greater than their love of the nation?
they should be impeached.. and some of them should be held to for treason against a Nation.. and you know the punishment for treasonous criminals...
The speech by Bitch Daniels was disgusting.
I tuned it off as soon as he started-I'm sick of the fear mongering but it seems to work on their paranoid base.
OMG....lies, all lies. But really, what can they say? They wanna win the White House back to advance their big business, no taxes, no entitlements, no regulation, free market agenda....but where are the jobs? And where's the income equality, or tax fairness? They've got nothing. Their candidates are horrible, they've done nothing in Congress, and their policies have bankrupted the majority of us. How delusional are you when you can't see when to "fold 'em."
Mitch Daniels wasted his time because my tv channel was changed immediately. I am tired of the negativity and TALKING POINTS. They are wasting their time...
I like how he started off with some praise and then straight in to the lies.
The only thing the GOP can sell is fear. Their overall message was, vote for Obama and die. If they can sell that message, then it won't matter how inept or destructive the GOP candidate will be.
I'll also be interested to see how this pans out when they get a candidate to run against Obama. I thought some segments were hinting at how different things are now than they were in January 2009. "We got Osama" and "we now have more manufacturing jobs..."
During a debate, it will be interesting to see how Republicans deal with actual facts rather than just wagging a finger, looking stern, and saying "wrong" so often as though that would make it true.
I believe that the president has dispelled many of the lies have been told about him. His desire to increase American businesses show that he is not a socialist or antibusiness. He pointed out his accomplishments, and the rate of growth in the job market that dispel the lies that he has made our economy worse. He has shown that he is willing to work with Congress to improve the living conditions of the 99% of people who are not the financially elite. He calls responsibility from the superrich to help save our economy. The Republican response was weak and just spouting the talking points that their constituents will continue to be misinformed by when they return to Fox[Fake]News.
I wish that were true but unfortunately the people who believe the lies will never change their minds because of their intense hatred of Obama and the loss (in their eyes) of white rule in America. It's that simple.
.
Weird, I can't find the words "Evil" or "Socialist" in Obama's word cloud. All the Republicans I know told me he admitted it today.
Pray tell, was that because he wants to do as the vast majority of Americans in polls have suggested they want (to have wealthy people pay the same rates of income tax as the rest of us)?
So the republicans basically are telling their base that "We have everything to fear especially fear itself?"
I could see their faces while President Obama was speaking. How hard their faces were. How they could manipulate his plans to fit their non-plans. It was.....I am against you...no matter what you say......
i agree with you.
Cantor looked like he wanted to cry or kill someone. Couldn't tell which.
The climate on Capitol Hill right now is such that I'm not sure either side will budge. Obama could say, "I'll give you everything you want, no matter how bone-headed and destructive it is" and the House and Senate GOP would oppose it.
The GOP in particular is more invested in bringing down Obama, and has been since the first days of his administration. The fear-mongering that is supported by all the media by replays (even NPR) is feeding this, too.
If you are going to present different colors then use the same font.
Really? All this effort and information and all you can say is 'use dif font'?
Actually, it's a valid point. I have a degree in Visual Communication, and presentation is everything. Mind you, I'm also a raging liberal, but I like my facts presented without bias.
The Blue font is a less vibrant color, and a more 'working class' font, as well as it's wider width and larger x-height (more letter in the space). It makes you feel warm and fuzzy because it's rounder, but also has those serifs that make it feel official.
The red font in contrast is a more vibrant color (look at the reds in the header of the RMS pages, there is a deeper commanding red, with some spots of vibrant red), and the font is very modern and condensed. The effect is that you get a vibration between the white and red, and it makes you feel agitated, and overwhelmed with the information.
That being said, even if both clouds had been presented in black and white with the same font. The Republican response cloud is obviously heavy on negativity and group membership. Unfortunately, there is a base for that kind of politics in our country these days. While I'm anti-nationalism, I think that Obama's use of the words American, Americans, and America might be the only way to help some of those people realize that this isn't a game to be won.
Ummm....Red states=Conservative(They chose it.)
Blue states=Progressive......
And interestingly enough, the president doesn't seem to be using the SotU to boost his party name, unlike Mitch Daniels who seems to love the word Republican.
The Republicans word cloud... short of jobs words and ideas. Big on the word Republican.
Ironic how big the word government is in the Republican cloud, isn't it?
Where is the word jobs on GOP word cloud? There it is, that tiny word in the lower right corner. Just like their effort.... mostly missing!
Yep, look in the lower right corner--it says 'one new jobs'. See? They have been working and have one new job to prove it!!!!!
Interesting. A quick glance doesn't show any Obama references to either party (at least in the larger font sizes). Refreshing!
Obama did do that a couple times, but more for a Jeffersonian reprise (a la, "we are all Republicans, we are all Federalists"). For example, the references to the special forces who killed Bin Laden (something to the effect of "some were Democrats; others were Republicans... but they put aside their differences to get the job done")
You know, for a party that has claimed it is the "Christian" party, They have an awfully hard time doing what Jesus said for them to do. They vilify the opposition when God says "Love your enemies and bless those who spitefully use you". They spread fear and hatred where God called us to spread peace and the good news of salvation. When do the rest of us get to claim Christ for our party?
How is it that Mr Romney has put his investment income in offshore tax havens while the US was fighting wars and getting OSAMA bin laden? If he wants to be POTUS, and part of the executive branch is the IRS, why did he not contribute to the sacrifice and triumphs of the US with his BAIN capital profits?
Clouds in identical font would be better for accurate comparison of the 2 clouds.
Until we see the words Midwest, ALEC and Fascist appear large (or at all;) the GOP won't be guaranteed extinct - as it could be.
All America needs to see clearly is the ALEC / Definition of Fascism (corporatism-Mussolini) connection, and they're extinct from politics forever. I'm betting millions still aren't aware of that agenda. It's not a small thing.
The kicker would be that (especially durable) corporations by nature and by definition, create ONLY profits - and not only irrespective of, but very much by intentionally, destroying domestic jobs.
Fascism a function of the left. Nazi party was SOCIALIST outfit. Conservatives are the direct opposite.
I'm a little surprised the word root "FAIL" isn't dominant in the Republican cloud.
It certainly is, in all GOPclownShow candidates' remarks or speeches.
Well ... I saw "three dollar bills" in the upper right corner.
Words don't lie...no matter the font.
The Repubs are terribly inward focused! Focused more on their image and brand than they are on getting s*@! done. I love word clouds...greatest invention since the Internet!
The look on Mitch McConnell's face during the speech was one of vile hatred. But then he's a despicable, treasonous man.
and..he smells of rancid pudding.
Treasonous? I think you misspelled reasonable.
That State of the Union was the most lie riddled, treasonous piece of garbage ever aired on national TV. But on a positive note, looks like Obama's gonna buy us all ponies and let us eat ice cream for breakfast. YAY!!!!!
I think it's obvious here, if not from the last 3 years, that the Republicans are mainly concerned with Republicans and the President is concerned with Americans. And I say this as someone who has never, until this year, considered herself as a Democrat. Good Speech. Great message.
When an ambulance comes into the ER with an unconscious patient, the entire Medical Team pulls together to save that patient's life. There's no jockeying for top dog status.
And that's the way it should be - "All for one and one for all" - teamwork and cooperation for the good of the many.
Our President and every other thinking and humanist person sees that clearly. But the R's couldn't care less about the many. Their own selfish interests come first, last, and always.
America was not founded on fairness. It was founded on equal opportunity. I guess when Mr. President turns us into a third world country everything will finally be fair. We'll all be equally screwed.
