We received a happy surprise today – our Emmy awards arrived! Rachel helped unwrap and handed out the first award to a lucky staffer.
Cory Gnazzo, our senior show producer, happily accepted - he was also the designated speaker when we (unexpectedly) won our Emmy for "Outstanding News Discussion and Analysis" this past September.
And in case you were wondering what happened with the statue we received back in September, it lives on top of Rachel's bookshelf, next door to Adventure Team G.I. Joe:

Rachel Maddow

Decision Points???
I think it's one of those books you read to hear the other side and its self-justification and mentality. It's like reading Kissinger or Nixon's memoir---it's still history, and a guidepost.
Two copies of Cyber Wars.
Sci Fi. Me Like.
Sure Rachel just leave all that annoying wrapping paper for the cleaning crew to pick up! What a hippie you are- you just littered! ;-)
Another hour's work for someone who needs a job...
How do you know she didn't pick up the mess? (Cleaning up just doesn't make for interesting videos, you know.)
I was just teasing Lynn. We all know Maddow's good for it.
Mazel tov! Well deserved.
Speaking of which, Rachel erred when she said "mazel tov" regarding Barney Frank's upcoming wedding. Mazel tov only 'works' on events that are in the past. It's never anticipatory.
So if, for example, you say "mazel tov" to someone who announces that she's pregnant, you aren't congratulating her that she's going to have a baby, you're congratulating her for having been successfully knocked up. In the case of Barney Frank, he was congratulated for getting as far as an engagement.
Tricky things, languages.
But you, DC, used the phrase at precisely the right time.
Thanks for the info. I learn new things everyday from this site.
congrats on the emmys! (emmies?)
now please take on the topic of racism in this election season. i just saw a tv ad depicting president obama as the captain of a slave ship filled with rowing, desperate-looking children. the word 'slave' was in large print on the screen. just the latest in a long list of despicable, detestable racist jabs in politics today.
these attacks need to be stopped, and you're in a perfect spot to shine a glaring light on this garbage.
Impressive!
A wise choice on the part of Emmy voters! As the St. Louis veteran's parade guy said "Rachel, I love your brain!"
That's funny! "Tonight Rachel's Brain is sponsored by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences..."
I just love how Rachel has gone from a guest to a host to the leader of the network. There isn't another person my husband and I would rather listen to or support. Congrats!
American exceptional-ism, baby...American exceptional-ism! :D
congratulations!!!!!!!!
I would love to raid that bookshelf! The titles I can see look interesting, but I bet what lies below is even better!
Plus, if there's anyone who doesn't want one of those Emmy packing boxes, I'd love to keep one around and be all oh yeah lemme show you my Emmy, it's all packed up to stay shiny etc. then OH GAWD WHERE IS MY EMMY?!?! hehe :)
You may wish to find a better way to say "the area not pictured" than "what lies below is even better"....couldn't help but yell "That's what she said!" in my head ;)
congratulations Rachel
Congrats Rachel...well deserved!
Rachel,
How about a Maddow book club?
What are you reading?
You deserve it. My husband and I LOVE your show!
Sweet! Fitting for a fantastic show and the members that make it happen!
I love your show Rachel and these Emma's could not have been given for a better purpose. Next, The Nobel Peace Prize!
I cannot think of any program more deserving of this award than TRMS. Your staff is exemplary, your show is well written, your humor is absolutely wonderful, your presentation is exceptional and when you make a statement we can make book on it. If there is an error, you are the first to point it out. Of all the news, media, and commentary presentations on all the channels, your show is the one we the viewers not only can trust, but will educate us as to what in the world is real. Your honesty is to admired, And yes, I with many others here would love to browse through your bookcase.
It is no wonder that the Republicans are frightened to death to show up on the Rachel Maddow show. My son and I truly appreciate your scaring them to death!!!
As long as we have TRMS, as long as we have Rachel Maddow, our country can only get better. Thank you and your staff for doing a marvelous job!!!
Congratulations, to all.
Congratulations Rachel and crew. Watch the show every night. Miss you on the weekends.
Congratulations Rachel, Keep shining your light on all boogies. Love your show!!!

Say hello to Northhampton, Ma, next time UR there..we miss New England, but my Husband & I are busy turning Charlotte, NC "Blue"....See you @ the Convention!!
Love the GI Joe land adventure guarding the Emmy. If needed, I'm sure he can call in the rest of the Adventure team.
I grew up with G.I. Joe with "Life like hair, and Kung-Fu grip!" Seeing him dutifully watch over your precious and well-deserved Emmy is delightful!
Congratulations! Keep up the great work! You are an inspiration and your efforts (and those of your tireless staff) are greatly appreciated!
Congrats rachel and to the staff as well! you guys always do such an awesome job every night. ^^
"And the award for most intelligent, informed, truth-seeking viewers go to The Rachel Maddow Show audience."
Our award is you and your brilliant staff Rachel. Thanks for all your hard work and integrity.
I want to work for Rachel!
I want to work for Rachel too! I am a computer specialist... I should get my resume together.
Congratulations Rachael and Team! You're the best show in politics today. Want another Emmy? PLEASE...do an investigation on the piece by piece privatization of the Post Office, before it is too late to stop it....if it isn't too late already.
I join all the other well deserved accolades.......You and your staff are just awesome!
I'm still smiling over the space suit episode.......It was just hilarious...and what an appropriate metaphor for the Newtster! I have been a loyal fan since you started.
You are leading the world in authentic, well researched journalism and the level of
professionalism that is lacking in so many venues across the media landscape......keep up the great work.........
