Not surprised Mitt's trailing in Michigan. The state GOP is a seething nest of Tea Partiers and conservative Christians. It long ago excised all traces of its moderate wing, which gave us George Romney and the great Bill Milliken among others. Indeed, the "Romney" name is poison to many Michigan GOPers; it equals "moderate," and that only emphasizes Mitt's troubles in establishing his winger bona fides.

no spin? SSI payouts come from SSI premiums not taxes. The military figure is a Bush type estimate that excludes the cost of the wars and probably excludes discretionary funds and DOD spending on war equipment ie bombs and planes.
