Way to go, Joe McGee and Fayetteville! From Oklahoma City tonight via Richmond and originally St. Louis, way to step the hell up and be active Americans! Wish we were there to roll with you on Saturday, go get 'em.
Congrats! We're trying in la too : americathanksyou dot org
Rachel I'm glad you're really hyped about parades, but you like most of the country, outside of the present administration, so one more time. Parades are not Sacrificing by the country for what these soldiers were sent into, now a decade and counting of None nor Demanding they should, added to the previous decades:
Welcome Home Little Brothers and Sisters!!
And there will Still be No Demand for Sacrifice by Country!!
No Revenues = No Sacrifice = No Support = DeJa-Vu all over again!. Now a decade and counting added to the previous decades of under funding the VA, while the peoples reps Still try and lay blame on the Agency, after rubber stamping wars and costs of and those represented cheer on these wars!
While the wealthy and other investors garner their booty, still, from both and many have the chutz·pa to call themselves more patriotic{?} then others wrapped in those false flags, using false slogans and various cheap symbols of!
USN '67-'71 All Shore GMG3 Vietnam In Country '70-'71

Not calling you out on reporting on these, Please continue doing so and with same enthusiasm, but Please start adding the reality as to what I posted above. Think about what the previous admin did with their rubber stamping congresses related to these wars and the veterans of, let alone us older veterans as they sought these wars. Have a staff member listen in to the Veterans Affairs congressional hearings, both houses though with the 112th the Senate ones are not only rare there hasn't been much of anything till the end of this month, and pay close attention to how the so called conservative members ask questions and interrupt those asked and how they never point to themselves nor those they represent. Ask why none of the so called candidates, with a reality show called Debates, only mention the wars and veterans in this country when they feel the need to wave the flag, back to parades on that one. You've now got a powerful soapbox, use it!!!!!!!!
Bingo
And when will MSNBC outlets start having some of these Vets on to actually share their stories. Some horrific. I have talked with many Vets. Go watch the Winter Soldiers testimonies of returning Vets from AFghanistan and Iraq.
Now I protested the invasion of Iraq (before the invasion) as millions did nation wide and the MSM ignored us. We protested, lobbied petitioned our Reps etc because we did not want these mostly young men sent to a war based on a "pack of lies" Many soldiers do their jobs within the laws of war. Many do not. In the fog of brutality they become brutal themselves. Innocent Iraqi civilians were mowed down at times by American soldiers, some used as target practice, Iraqi people were tortured by American soldiers, young Iraqi girls were raped. Now I know these mostly young men were sent to Iraq based on false pretenses that many of them believed. I am happy they have returned home. That I can celebrate. But saying thank you...absolutely not! They need to take some responsibility for their choices and actions even though they were lied to and that has to be considered. Serious crimes were committed in Iraq. If only Rachel and her crew would spend this much time demanding that those who lied these young men into an unnecessary, illegal and immoral war be held accountable. Now that I would gladly say thank you for. Did I miss it? Has someone been held accountable for the Niger Documents and the rest of the cherry picked, created and dessiminated false WMD intelligence? When that happens I will be all about parades
Well she volunteered to have sex so of course we should be able to probe her to get an abortion!
Wait not that's wrong....
Well they volunteered to serve their country so of course we should be able to prosecute them as war criminals for illegally invading Iraq because they totally had a choice!
Yes totally completely moral.
*eyeroll*
Seriously? Seriously? Hiding behind the smokescreen of 'they volunteered for it' doesn't give you credence to say whatever nonsense about the military you'd like. Yeah lots of atrocities were committed in Iraq and they were handled at the military and civilian level as they should have been. What do you want? Them to be paraded out and to apologize for the soldiers who didn't commit war crimes? Seriously?
And when oh when will Maddow and the rest of MSNBC host start educating the public about Iran by having real experts on like Flynt and Hillary Mann Leverett over at Race for Iran?
Rachel have turned you off for several weeks. Relying on the blogs, PBS etc for international news. You can turn MSNBC on at 5 and it is all Republican race with a twist on your show, Al's , Ed's , Rachels, Lawrence...how many times can a person see that empty Romney football stadium (watched last night) Yawn yawn yawn.
When are you going to step out of your comfort and pay check zone and help educate the public about IRan based on facts by having Flynt and Hillary Mann Leverett on from Race for Iran. Not asking you to have some way out lefties on or something. These folks were in the Bush adminstration for heavens sake. Take a chance. How about General Dempsey...you know another far out leftie. What are you afraid of getting fired by Comcast....by having experts on about Iran.

Center for American Progress’ doubles down with lobby
by Philip Weiss on February 25, 2012 6
More evidence that the only game in Washington is the Israel lobby. The Center for American Progress (CAP), a Democratic Party thinktank under steady attack from neoconservatives for being critical of Israel, has taken on a pr firm associated with Jewish organizations, including the neoconservative Jewish Council for Public Affairs, so as to maintain its street cred. Adam Kredo reports at the Free Beacon:
Earlier this week, Ilene Cohen made the pointed observation that in the eyes of many in the Jewish community, the New York Times is a Jewish house organ and not the paper of record. But this is the political reality of the Democratic establishment; the Israel lobby is in the saddle. Obama raised $1.2 million last June at a dinner at the home of David Cohen, the executive vice president of the company that owns NBC and MSNBC. You can be sure that many of the people who gave $10,000 came from Cohen's network at the Jewish Federations, which he had headed-- and an organization that CAP's new p.r. firm also represented.
As for CAP's new bedfellow, JCPA, here is the thinktank stirring up fears of Iran's "existential" threat to Israel.
Just imagine the pressure on the journalists at CAP not to say that AIPAC is pushing war with Iran...
You have 0:00 to save your changes.

Comcast got your tongue tied Rachel? Unable to actually ever have guest on who discuss the Israeli Palestinian conflict at all or more importantly based on facts. And clearly unable to do any programs or have guest on who discuss Iran based on facts like General Dempsey or the Levertts? Comcast owns you big time Rachel. Your integrity and ability to be a honest journalist
People, not politics. Way to go, Fayetteville. And Oklahoma City, where we are right now, in realtime, planning the Veterans Resource Village that will do a lot more than wave flags and chant slogans.
Thank you to all who have served. If no one ever told you when you did...Welcome Home.
Kathleen-330322 "But saying thank you...absolutely not!"
I never asked for a thank you, and don't demand one. That's your choice. It's your freedom, and I'm fine with that. What I'm not fine with is, that since you personally do not choose to thank veterans, you feel that you are entitled to belittle the people who will look past the politics and celebrate the homecoming of loved ones. Because that's what they are, loved ones. A large amount of the local population in Fayetteville is made up of soldiers and their families. When division is deployed, it is a ghost town.
Do you also have the same disdain for those that fought in Viet Nam? True, most of them were drafted, but a lot of people headed north to Canada. The rest followed orders, legal ones, and were drafted and fought in a similar political environment. They were bound by the same rules that soldiers/sailors/marines are bound by today. The difference is that ALL of todays soldiers/sailors/marines volunteered to serve their country. Yet, since they followed legal orders in a political situation similar to that of Viet Nam, you find them to be criminal?
True, they are not technically defending you right now, but in the instance of attack, they would be the ones upon which you would place hope.
I'll bet even then, they still wouldn't ask for a parade or a "thank you."
You can keep it.

Born and raised in Fayetteville, I felt my heart JUMP when Rachel mentioned my hometown on TBNTITWT. Fort Bragg is part of my DNA. My father (90 yo and still going strong and still resides in Fayetteville) was a member of both the 82nd Airborne and a proud member of the 555th Paratroop Battalion (www.triplenickle.com) the Smokejumpers and first African American Paratroopers. The parade route goes through parts of town I traveled regularly. Thanks Rachel. Check out the history, like REDTAILS? See this!
