Occupy Wall Street turned out again in Manhattan today.
Producer Andrew Dallos sends a couple of pics. Above, one of several clowns who took their message to the Bank of America. Below, a sign for the Common Cause group that wants to roll back Citizens United ruling that allows corporations to spend unlimited amounts for and against the candidates of their choice.

The Citizens United ruling is proof positive that conservatives are for sale. It doesn't matter what their job is, nor how impartial they're supposed to be, they have price, and it was met.
Right wingers have no soul, just price tags.
Yea!!! Now maybe we can start having some real dialog!! OWS somehow seemed to open that up and that was a good thing!!
The FBI is keeping tabs on Occupy leaders, especially Chicago. There's an easy form to fill out to request an FBI file on yourself. I'd recommend anyone involved with Occupy request their FBI file.
They may have a file on me from the Vietnam protests. In any event, the city gearing up for major demonstrations and the police think they can keep the protests away from the Loop, McCormick Place and other sites holding the meetings. I don't know how they can do it if it is a flash mob. But the city is calling in police from other cities and towns. There are two major meetings the G8 and Nato that are coming in May. These delegates for the meetings will staying in hotels in the Loop (Ambassador West) and by O'Hare. But they cannot avoid the publicity that will be broadcast about the demonstrations.
And I would add that anyone who wants to contribute to OWS any movement in any state, to send it using money orders. No personal checks or credit cards, they can track those. Money orders are hard to track. No names but initials.
Selling fear? I ain't buying any. If they are tracking the occupiers they might figure out just how many people are fed up. This is still America folks, don't let rumors about "them" scare you away from speaking out.Silence is shame and allows freedom to be lost.
That is wonderful news! I just have to admire that sign of "Corporations are not People", the artistry is commendable, too, Nice contrast of colors to be noticed. I started out protesting Iraq invasion in March 2003 (yes, the moment of announced invasion was reported to me by a few "gung ho-go to war" types, the exact moment of Shock and Awe I was protesting) with cardboard sign and colorful magic markers. I am impressed with that sign.
I am appalled that the Supreme Court could be so confused (ha!?) as to think a corporation is a person with rights.
Someone could argue in front of that court and prove that donkees and elephants are people too
Has anyone from OWS been charged for throwing smoke bombs on the white house lawn?
I have to hope that although the OWS folks and other "leftist" folks that wish to send a message (uh, no.. I do not support throwing smoke bombs, but I understand trying to get the message into the media)
It's going to gel in November. I intend to promote the supporting of PBO, alongside the democratic messaging to speak out. We mostly agree because I do want folks to ask "which direction is best for what I want?" I think we are both concerned about throwing PBO under the bus as sending a message, I advise NOT to do that. I'd guess you too. I think we all have a part int his and you do have a volid point, people can have a voice, but watch out. You might undermine your own goals in reality.
p.s. I see Tim Wise has a new book coming out. Look out for the backlash we know is coming.
What message was OWS sending? Bombing the white house where Black girls live is fun? Remember Black churches being bombed and children dying? Something is wrong with anyone who thinks that throwing any sort of "bomb" is effective. If those throwing the bombs would have been shot and killed by secret service then a message would have been sent. How sick are these people?
People all over this country are suffering now due to the left trying to teach PBO a lesson. The people getting the lesson are the ones who will get a probe stuck in their vagina. The teachers who are out of a job really taught PBO a lesson. Black people who never have voted for Republicans are getting taught lessons by having their voting rights taken away.
Rather a disturbing portrait of America after the left taught PBO a lesson.
ps Tim Wise will not get any media coverage.
You can't judge the whole OWS movement on the actions of a few people. The G8 in Chicago will more likely than not be infiltrated by the "Black Bloc" Anarchist group. They are not a part of OWS nor are they friends of OWS.
Question: Did anyone from OWS denounce the bomb throwing? If so please provide a link.
Did any cops get charged for pepper spraying protesters setting on a curb? OH, thats alright because they are the "law" BS.
I think it is deserving of denouncement and arrest. I cannot call myself OWS member, but I denounce and abhor the radical activities such as terrorizing occupants of the White House it is the most despicable act short of shooting a gun into the WH.
I cannot locate a link that denounces, but I can find this only:
http://www.nycga.net/2012/01/28/1282012-banning-an-individual-nan-from-general-assembly-from-town-planning/
The code of conduct states that would be something they would sever ties with the person/group that did. Best I can do besides denouncing it myself. I have only supported peaceful and orderly demonstrations that are non-violent, like the students getting pepper sprayed stayed seated.
Sandy u are a good person.
So are you Tanyaras5,
You bring up very good points for those who would consider listening. Just as Tim Wise tries, but there are people that refuse to consider these points.
So, if I get a traffic ticket, I can just claim that I'm a corporation right "Judge" Roberts?
Repukes are hateful and nasty people. They have no idea what it's like to be human!
So the guy on the clown suit is returning to Wall Street. I'm really, really, really interested to hear what he has to say. But I'm pretty sure it's probably a whole lot of nothing. (And BTW, Obama and Pelosi are his biggest fans.)
And you know this how??
I think their return is great, this will only help ensure a Republican win in November.
Sure it will. Just as all the forced vaginal probings in red states will ensure that women will flock to the GOP in November. Just as red states denying LGBT persons their constitutional rights will make them flock to the GOP in November.
Enjoy your Stockholm Syndrome while it lasts.
Only in your dreams.
iamalevi2
That's crazy talk, just as crazy as the whole republican party!
That hurt!
We didn't go anywhere. You just didn't see us. Maybe it's because we're everywhere. Maybe it's because we are busy working on more actions, education and out reach to bring the rest of the 99% into the Occupy Movement.
Spring is right around the corner.
Keep saying it and maybe a few more will believe you're the 99%, you're more like the Point 99% (.99%)
Did you know that Internet tr0lls such as yourself are severely lacking in empathy? It's true. You are driven to pointlessly harass people in order to provoke a response from them in order to compensate for your own incapacity for human feeling. Instead of making an ass and a nuisance of yourself, why don't you seek professional help instead? Your only other option is to indulge your illness until it self-destructively spirals out of control.
Just except the truth, they don't represent 99%. What probably started as a good idea to protest Wall Street abuses has turned into a comedy show with all kinds of fruitcakes running the show. Pictures of people behaving badly will only deliver votes to the Republicans. However, it you prefer name calling and bad behavior as your mantra, please continue.
You are the one indulging in "name calling" and "bad behavior". You have no truth on your side, just fatuous bluster. You're not going to get whatever thrill you're seeking here, so just go away now before you humiliate yourself any more than you already have done. Seriously. We're all laughing at you.
And he does meen ALL.
;)
Please point out where I indulged in name calling and bad behavior. I don't think you'll find anything in my posts, however you will find it on many of the posts from the Left!
I am not going to waste time dancing to your tune. You are not here to engage, therefore you will not be engaged with. You are just here to provoke a reaction. My reaction is to poke you and see which way you jump. You can dish it out, but I don't believe you can take it. Enjoy.
My tune is trying to engage and have a discussion. However, I find is silly the you are "not going to waste time dancing" with me. Yet you appear to be doing just that because you have to post a response to each of my posts, and unfortunately, they contain nothing of any relevance except to attack me personally!
You are not being attacked. You are being noodged. And if you don't want me responding or noodging, you can stop saying anything right now.
Lets keep dancing!
Not sure if you know what 'noodge' means, but whatever.
I don't, but since I can tell you can't be engaged without name calling I don't really care!
We never really went away. Maybe you just didn't see u. We are everywhere. Maybe it's also because we've been busy. Busy planning more actions, education and out reach for the rest of the 99% that are not yet awake.
Spring is right around the corner.
Please stay away. If smoke bombing the white house is your way of getting attention please join the klan. You speak for white racists.
I wish to add that the bottom 80% have been able to share only 7% of the financial wealth of the country and it is time that policies change so they can have a bigger share. The top 10% have been very successful in keeping the distributions of wealth by manipulating policy making by making sure salaries of the bottom 80% remain low and prices of goods and services high and by making sure credit rating systems remain in place even in times of high unemployment.
Have any of you wonder why is the minimum wage so low, when not one soul any where in the US can maintain life earning that wage?
If corporations want to be treated as people, shouldn't they also have to pay taxes as people too? Shouldn't they fall within the appropriate individual tax rate, and not the corporate tax rate?
I agree. We need to set a minimum for Corporations who make over a Million dollars
The Buffet Business Rule.
A minimum of 30% on all profits over a million dollars, I bet that would put a dent in the deficit.
If corporations are people why don't they have to go through the same scrutiny when applying for "welfare"? People have to show need, low assets & low income. Corporations take subsidies from the taxpayers and yet only their share holders and owners are the only ones benefiting. They do not even pay their share of taxes at the same rate as the middle class and the working poor.
Why isn'i this enough to use the Ricco Act? Here's a few headlines on BoA from the past year.

One Bank of America employee was robo-signing 7,000 to 8,000 foreclosure documents per month.
Which would be why I no longer bank with BofA...
As kind of a parallel to all that, credit union membership is now at an all-time high. That's not an option for everyone, but I recommend it for anyone who has the opportunity. I've been with mine nearly my entire adult life, and have never ever paid a fee for the privilege of using my own money.
Hopefully, Olympia Snow's brave and authentic decision will change the national conversation and focus to the need for respect, civility and compromise; and keeping the good of the nation at the forefront of everyone's efforts.
Agreed, I just hope the Left gets the message!
You seem to be confused. It's the right that don't want to listen to the people. It's the right that has failed to pass ONE jobs bill. It's the right that is defunding the EPA, NPR, FEMA and any other agency that helps THE PEOPLE. That seems to be more important to the right than getting this country going again.
Larry What's important is for the country to stop borrowing money because millions of it's citizens want to lay around the shanty and breed at taxpayers expense. btw The Repubs have presented many "pro jobs" bills but the Dems block them. When real Americans want something they get it by not screwing their fellow citizens.
I'm not confused at all, EPA leads to be scaled back. It's a bloated department making law, and that is suppose to be the job of the Congress. NPR is simply a Left leaning, publicly funded entity. As far as FEMA, I do have a problem with that one!
OK. You're not confused. You're paranoid. Two different things entirely. The first one is more easily cured.
Did you expect them to go away? Did the problems go away?
What people need to realize is that the Supreme Court stated, before Citizens United, was that Corporations are people. They just don't have all the rights that living blood people have. There is a difference between a Natural Person and an Artificial Person. Corporations are Artificial Person, and we are Natural Persons. That's just my comments, based on facts of our legal system, as stated by the Court of the Land (i.e. Supreme Court).
What we need is a constitutional Amendment only people are people! www.amend2012.org! We can reverse the Citizens United ruling but its going to have to take all of us!
That is just so depressing. You're right, but it's still horrifically sad that we've been brought to the point that we have to fight to reclaim the word "people" for actual, real humans.
our modern form of revolution - protest - raises awareness but does not change the system. this is because tyranny does not rely on your opinion to continue - it only requires your money.
though tax systems are designed to extract money from the apathetic they can be reconstructed into an instrument of liberation for all of us.
there is no better way to protest than to limit the amount of money you give the government.
