Just listened to the show tonight. As usual — or as often as I can listen to it — it's interesting. Ultimately, what you show is that Republicans have become unable to manage the democratic process within their own party, or that the democratic process have become increasingly ill-adapted to the Republican apparatchik, even at the state level. In reality, the Republican apparatchik is openly or implicitly routing for a sort of census suffrage (hence the power of Republican super-packs) while the extreme base (the tea party) believes in "democratic" principles — even if such democratic principles are strange at times. Is the Republican party enacting a replay of the "census/censitary suffrage" vers the "Equal suffrage" — as was Europe in the 19th century?
Two stories i thought at the very least your staff would enjoy. First, more republican infighting http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2012/03/the_kochs_brothers_are_trying_to_seize_control_of_the_libertarian_think_tank_cato_.html
Second, where did that whole "people should have information so they can act rationally in the market" thing go? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46597603/ns/business-us_business/#.T1Wmn_X0qlU
Thanks for the interview with Lilly Ledbetter, she is the perfect example of one determined citizen making a difference. It is so nice to see so many strong, courageous women being introduced to the American public through shows like TRMS, UP with Chris Hayes, Melissa Harris Perry and Andrea Mitchell, it would be nice if Chris, Lawrence, Ed and Reverend Al had a few more female guests on at all, let alone historic figures like Lilly Ledbetter.
Well, I think I know where in Steubenville, Ohio Santorum will be tonight. Steubie Ubie! One of the most conservative Catholic colleges in the country. Awesome!
