On Friday, March 23, former Marine Rick Hermelin will head out on his elliptical bike from South Carolina -- and just keep going. Hermelin, 71, plans to ride cross the country, reaching San Diego in 100 days. Minus food, which he'll buy along the way, he'll carry everything he needs in a small backpack.
He's raising money for the Semper Fi Fund, which supports injured and ill troops. "You just get started to push off and then it's just keep moving," he says.

Essentially, any doctor is allowed to withhold medical information from any pregnant woman that would cause her to have an abortion, and she's can't sue for malpractice. So if your doctor sees that your child is going to be born with one leg and no arms, they don't have to inform you, and you can't sue.

I just saw Good Deeds , a film by Tyler Perry, and I cried and laughed, then bawled some more. After the movie ended , I checked my email and looked at this: Maddow Blog Headlines...How to win friends and affluent people,This Week in God,Uppity Alabama women, FTW, then I glanced Read More, so I clicked enter, and up popped this headline: "Sort of a really long, one-man parade for injured troops." You know, I could truly hear Rachel's voice saying that ! Then I clicked play on the video short by Andrew Dallos , but before the video started to play, I quickly read the short description below the video saying that former Marine Rick Hermelin was planning to ride his elliptical bike from South Carolina to California...Oh boy , here we go again! After reading all the headlines, and after all the bizarre stuff we have been hearing from the Extreme Right GOP, I ALREADY made up my mind; This guy is going to be another wacko Conservative causing Southerners to look even more obtuse, than than they already do. The lesson for me this day is this : Do not make assumptions about: all men, all military men, or all people living in the south. (I am originally from the south and like all southerners, I am very proud of where I came from. ), and do not assume that Rachel Maddow's Blog will not include at least one surprise , or twist. LOVED THIS STORY, and it was a perfect ending to a feel good movie like Good Deeds , which I did not want to end ! I will passionately follow Rick Hemelin's ' sort of really long ' good deed as well.

I really loved that show, and was connected by my heart to the families that were featured.All families were well educated, contributing, well spoken, funny, personable, very good role models!!!! ALL Americans!!!
