Did you hear the one about the two guys kissing at a Santorum rally in Illinois?
Romney wins Puerto Rico.
Now we know why Romney was nice to Santorum about Illinois delegates. He had to be.
Ron Paul is running out of caucus states, but he says it's still only halftime.
The Idaho Senate may vote on a mandatory ultrasound bill today.
The comedy stylings of Sen. Scott Brown.
Occupy Wall Street tries to retake Zuccotti Park (note: video is NSFW).
The full results of the 1940 Census are about to be made public.

When I look at the photo above, I imagine how nice Santorum would look in red and white stripes.
It'd be pretty great if those two guys start a trend of gay kissing at Santorum rallies.
Since when was it so wrong to be smart, well-educated, and well-informed? Since when was stupidity so cool and fashionable? The very reason people make authoritative decisions is that they are smart and well-educated. If I'm having a heart attack, I want to be taken to a medical doctor who has the "elite" training and funding to save my life, not a university drop-out.
It became wrong when it was made clear that facts, reality, and education have a liberal bias.
Doubly ridiculous, since Santorum himself has a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, and a juris doctorate/law degree. What he is really saying is that he doesn't want his constituents educated.
And when I want my taxes done, I want a trained CPA to work on them. Even hobbies have classes for enthusiasts...
Employers WANT educated employees. When I was looking for work to supplement our income, I applied at Walgreens for a little above minimum wage. I was given TESTS to pass on two separate occasions-- Math and critical thinking skills. If you fail, you are immediately turned down. I got the job because I was the only candidate that had a college background. I was told during the hiring process that a if a candidate came along that spoke Spanish, they'd pass me over. I ended up with the job, where I received probably 100 hours of training from their in house program. Every time I was promoted there was additional education. Management is sent to a special school to get a Pharmacy tech certification. It's that education of their employees that has made them the number one drug store in the country.
They were a great company to work for (mom and woman friendly) and I learned more than I ever wanted to know about the retail industry. Whenever I hear candidates and politicians poo-poo-ing education, I know they are full of it because only slum-lord-employers, places where people are disposable (not a good business plan), want uneducated employees... and those businesses seem to be disposable themselves. As a former small business owner I know a no-education policy is a bad thing. I want critical thinkers and problems solvers working for me.
I homeschool, and I wish Santorum would shut up because he's making us non-crazy-homeschoolers look so bad...
And I should note that my son is pretty tired of learning about elections at the moment. Thanks to the GOP the poor kid is completely turned off from the whole thing... and he wishes they'd stop talking about transvaginal anything. He's 10 and he can't read any political current event stories without hearing about vaginas.
He's 10 and he can't read any political current event stories without hearing about vaginas.
And your blog name is vaginaisnotadirtyword. A bit of ironic humor there? :).
On here it is... LOL
It's amazing the my kid can use the proper anatomical terms for the human body, but the GOP cannot, which all he seems to be taking away from Civics at the moment.
And...just to cap the rest of the idiocy anecdotes...there was a story going around on Facebook yesterday entitled "FOXNews Killed My Mother," supposedly by a woman whose mother refused to go to a doctor after she fell because she believed all the FOX propaganda that "Obamacare would get all her information." If that one has been debinked by Snopes; I haven't heard about it yet.
This morning in France, a man opened fire outside a Jewish school, killing four.
In better news, here's a video of a baby hummingbird.
At the end of the day, I ask myself, is Rick Santorum for real, what are his solutions for the current problems we are facing, home foreclosures, high unemployment, the speculators who are raising the price of gas, government infrastructure initiatives being rejected by G O P governors, The Governor of Florida rejecting money to improve trains, high speed trains, and they are concentrating in women's reproductive rights? Is Santorum a woman? Does he think he could trick us with sexual retoric? who could afford to have 5 or 7 children in their households? He is a joke a closet sex case.
I'm starting to think his rationale is that God has punished our sexual 'sins' and moral failings by destroying our economy. If women, who are inherently evil via Original Sin, are reverted back to property, things will get better... magically.
Was it him that said "disabled children are women's punishment for abortion"? Sounds like his logic or logic he's subscribe to even if it was said by a fellow nut-job. Santorum has a disabled child... so by that logic his wife had abortion. Maybe that's why he can't let it go...
Rick Santorum turns to secretive group for money muscle

if santorum wants smaller government how is he going to create these new governemt agencies to police these new social laws he wants to enact as president. and if he will be willing to listen to someone who dosen't have any intelligence then he will have a cabinet of dummies who will once again not listen to the intelligence of the nation and we just might get hit again, dosen't anyone remember what the 8 years was like under bush because of his lack of intelligence!!!!!!!!
Rebublicans don't want to intrude on boardrooms just bedrooms!
We kicked Santorum's righteous, pompous ass out of Pennsylvania. Now it's time to send him to Newt's moon colony.
What I find amazing is the growing number of sheeple who cheer at his statements. Not sure about which "Obama" he keeps referring to. Must be the one in an alternate universe. The "Obama" in this universe is nothing like what he keeps accusing him of being, saying and doing. Santorum should go live on Newt's moon colony. There he can establish his puritan vision of a society. The last guy who tried that was Hitler. Imagine that another Fascist.
Santorum favors the states doing his dirty work. They are well on the way toward their goal of repression of female rights.
Apparantely, Sanitarium doesn't get out much. He should also start visiting public malls. No, wait a minute he might go into culture shock. "If you want to destroy my sweater" singin out loud.

Haven't had a chance to check it out throughly yet, but it seems to be a database of issues and politicians that the activist-minded can use to network.
There's a movement building right now to protest all of the laws being passed that are attacking women's rights. They are hoping for a nation wide protest on April 28th and another one in DC in September. You can go here to learn more: http://www.wearewomenmarch.net/ The site is still under construction, so there are some problems with it, but it will give you an idea of where the group stands. They also have a FB page.
There's also a sex strike in April. I don't have the link, but I know there is a Facebook Event set up for it.
The Sex Strike worked well for Brazilian women and they had their demands met. I hope it has the same impact here.
Good Morning: Rachel Maddow, MSNBC, I first want to say that I am a frequent viewer of your show, I have been keeping up with the latest on the Campaign. I am a supporter of the Obama Campaign, and I wanted to share an Important News Article that is in the "Final Call" Muslim Paper, featuring Nation Of Islam Leader, Minsister Farrakhan that says "News Paper "Atlanta Jewish Times" feels the need to Order a "Hit" out on President Obama, and called it a Justified Homicide.
Some American Muslims are Outraged, and so are other Local Americans in RI, we want an "Investigation". Because the Owner of the Atlanta Jewish Times is connected to a Local Warner Brothers Corporation Site in RI.
I think it's interesting to note that Kansas HB 1695-- the one that forces doctor's to tell patients that abortion causes breast cancer-- also inadvertently says abortions increase breast tissue and more breast tissue means more breast... so Kansas had made in indisputable fact that abortion makes your breasts bigger.
You're right... my home-state Kansas legislature is (quite literally) practicing medicine without a license. As for the Rick Santorum rally... displays of human emotion, how dare they??? :)
Oops! That bill is from New Hampshire. It's hard to keep track of all these crazy bills. Sorry!! Kansas has its own crazy stuff though... and funny how no one can say "vagina" when discussing these bills.
In New Hampshire's proposed bill the way the law is written PROVES they haven't the faintest idea what they are legislating because they are not educated in reproductive health or the workings of the female body. Saying abortion permanently increases the amount of tissue in the breast-- the reasoning is because the pregnancy didn't go full term-- means ANY pregnancy that ends early causes the same. It means that spontaneous abortion (aka) miscarriage, chemical pregnancies, and premature birth result in higher cancer risk and a permanent increase breast tissue.
From the bill:
e) Materials that inform the pregnant woman that there is a direct link between abortion and breast cancer. It is scientifically undisputed that full-term pregnancy reduces a woman?s lifetime risk of breast cancer. It is also undisputed that the earlier a woman has a first full-term pregnancy, the lower her risk of breast cancer becomes, because following a full-term pregnancy the breast tissue exposed to estrogen through the menstrual cycle is more mature and cancer resistant. In fact, for each year that a woman?s first full-term pregnancy is delayed, her risk of breast cancer rises 3.5 percent. The theory that there is a direct link between abortion and breast cancer builds upon this undisputed foundation. During the first and second trimesters of pregnancy the breasts develop merely by duplicating immature tissues. Once a woman passes the thirty-second week of pregnancy (third trimester), the immature cells develop into mature cancer resistant cells. When an abortion ends a normal pregnancy, the woman is left with more immature breast tissue than she had before she was pregnant. In short, the amount of immature breast tissue is increased and this tissue is exposed to significantly greater amounts of estrogen?a known cause of breast cancer. Women facing an abortion decision have a right to know that such medical data exists. At the very least, women must be informed that it is undisputed that pregnancy provides a protective effect against the later development of breast cancer.

I live in Illinois and evidently there will be NO commercials on the big three network stations until after the primary tomorrow. It's Romney - Santorum - Romney - Santorum - CONSTANTLY............ugh.
For Santorum supposedly not having any money, he's matching Mitt stone for stone!
the right wing is trying to be god like and trying to make people think they know everything and have a cure for it, but they haven't produced any evidence of any cure , they were given the house of representatives in 2010 and have succeeded in ,preventing the rest of us with, a federal budget, caused us to loose our good credit rating(as per the CEO of the group who degraded it) and have got every one fighting about of all things, contrepception, this is something that is to be resolved between, a woman and her doctor, not congress, they have always been out there but now they have gone way out ,If you want to loose everything we've worked for over the last 100 years vote them back in!
Sure, Santorum's a self-righteous, pompous, hateful elitist. But we probably don't need to spend too much time or effort on him. Romney's doing a pretty good job of that. Vice versa, too. It's looking like the Republican candidates are going to win the election - for us!!
The kissers made a point about one minority while one of them was wearing a shirt that oppresses another minority.
