Watching the Rachel Maddow show at this moment and want to thank you for telling the truth about the constant lies coming out of the mouth of Mitt Romney the Etch a Sketch candidate.
I watched and waited for Rachel to show one of Mitt's lies that let me know he is a casual liar who lies just like breathing. She did not mention it but do you remember in an early CNN debate he told Wolf Blitzer his first name was Mitt even when everyone knows his first name is Willard. That was a casual unnecessary lie that a person with a pathological lying problem would do. Lying Liars who tell LIES!
The Obama deranged will, of course, say that Obama lies, too.
I'd love someone to challenge them to come up with a tape like the one Rachel put together tonight.

Where I grew up near Chattanooga, TN, they used to say "you'll go to Hell for lying".....I think Hell is an important qualification for politicians.....Mormons don't believe in Hell....my guess is that Governor Romney probably has obtained instant and eternal salvation in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints due most likely to his financial support......but hey, that's just my outsider's opinion....
However, the argument can still be made that his candidacy to be the GOP presidential nominee was a bad idea from the start....He will have better luck in 2016 on the Democratic ticket. Hey, why not..!?!? Just shake the board and start over, right...!?!?

Every time almost any Republican politician opens his/her mouth, the only thing that comes out is lies. This is not a new phenomenon, but I agree, Romney has taken it to a whole new level.

Go back and listen to anything said by Bush Jr., Cheney, Rice, etc - you'll be hard pressed to find anything truthful that they've said, and I'm sure Mint's getting an earful of lies to repeat from Karl Rove, one of the best!
Romney, a liar?? A LIAR?? Yes, and with a straight face. But didn't Bush lie too, about the WOMDs. And he sent our young men and women to die in a ward that should not have been. If Romney belongs to the Bohemian Grove Club, he has already burnt "care", which means he does not care about anything as long as he achieves his agenda. Whether it is power, (which the GOP takes turns to do) and he will have the responsibility to make his cronies or club members sons and daughters richer. Whether we like it or not, if he wins the first he is going to do is to create policy that continues to distribute the bulk of the wealth of the country to a few CEO from insurance companies, pharmaceuticals, Social Security which will be privatize to hide the fact Bush borrowed from it and did not return the money. (and I say, if Clinton borrowed and did not pay back he should be tried also. Both for using money that did not belong to the general government operations fund.
So, the two top running candidates are liars. Gingrich does not have to be, and Paul does not have to lie. Those are both on the bottom, which mean they have not done too many promises to the top contributors and do not have a big machinery.
I was a repuppy but now I will vote Obama, the big O, the big kajuna. Let benevolence and compassion reign for a change.

Shake that etch-a-sketch and plot a whole new belief system. Contrast this with the amazing reaction that President Obama had when told by a young deaf man (in sign language), "I'm proud of you." And Obama signed back, "Thank you." This has been quite a day.
I worked with addicts for many years and they were honest enough to share how dishonesty was part and parcel of addiction. Many also admitted finding themselves lying for no good reason at all because it was habitual. I am not saying Mitt is an addict but it is obvious he lies consistently, easily and with no evidence of a conscience. I guess this is necessary to be a successful vulture capitalist but a president needs credibility with our allies, our enemies and certainly not least , the American people.
Romney was a corporate executive for many years. The mercifully few of that sort that I've met over the years seem to have all been like Romney: willing to say anything that they think is in their interest in any given moment, even if it is the polar opposite of what they said in the previous moment. If your highest purpose in life is serving the bottom line, then truth and lies are only commodities.

No, not really. In the episode you're thinking of, Spock compared their situation to a game of chess. Kirk chose to see it as poker. That was just a difference of opinion, two different ways of evaluating the same circumstances. Kirk happened to be correct, because the whole crisis the Enterprise was in was only a gigantic bluff. In the case of corporates it's more like being in game of Calvinball or double cranko where there are no rules. Well, there's one rule: whatever benefits the guy in the most expensive suit .

I LOVED the first segment of the show tonight! I think another reason that no one has called Mitt a liar is it makes us personally uncomfortable to call another person a liar even if it is deserved.

There are so many ramifications to Willard's continual lies. It's his arrogance and sense of superiority that he can lie so often and so easily. He shows no respect for those listening to him and he's assuming people are either stupid or gullible.

bills were being paid witch is the right thing to do, always. do not worry about nothing that is the magic number after the bills get paid. the 57% tax would need to last about thirty months. and another thing, why do we need to go through this again. promote labor unions. i remember 1968, labor unions about 37% membership, low inflation, about one and a half percent annaully, bills bing paid, a thriving middle class, unemployment at 3.8% our government paying the bills, housing cost middle class house about $25,000 property taxes about $300 per year. but then the greedy repugs needed a bigger pie so that they could be considered part of our civilization. nixon took us off the gold standard. that gave our government the formula to deregulate all commerce, expand the military footprint all over the world, make more enemies, repug nixon was not happy to only have power he need to have a chance to destroy the democrats by acting as a criminal. we started having lots of homeless people then, lots and lots of civil disobedience since then and this brought about the police state that we live under now. i tell you, republicans are no good, because they produce unwinable wars of all kinds, promote gunplay, push for high interest rates until people walk out own their bills, send young gung-ho kids to fight wars with what they have, not with what they need for their safety, did anyone say war was safe. send the mothers of children off to work because they do not know the asprin trick, profile you so that you may lose your voting rights, dismantle the middle class, run scams like derivatives world wide like to the tune of 666,000 trillion. hey pay attention, they do all this for their own pleasure, they throw a wrench into into working systems, just ask the postal service, ask the relatives of the drowning victoms of katrina in 2005, in the new orleans fiasco caused by inadequate funding to maintain and upgrade the levies. it was not the storm it was the high and heavy handed mentality of all repugs that cannot stand not to have their dumb and criminal schemes into all things that are allready working. voters never learn because they do not realize who is @!$%#ing them. that is always the first and most important thing that i need to know about my well being. look at how romney has to lie to get throgh the day. all this guy has ever done is run wages down to slave wages. if you do not believe this ask a chinese worker that may work 80-90 hours per week. there are times when these people weigh the thought is this worth living for. ask the workers all over the world who do not have environmental or health laws to keep them safe but sold their souls off to the idea of having a job. what could you expect from a guy that will ship your job to enrich himself and those in the same exploiting mentality to bring cheap products to our shores until you can no longer afford to. we can no longer afford this kind of stuff because it cause the same sorry results. some benifit tremendously, so die trying to satisfy the demand on their health, their soul or outright servitude for the plan. ask the people of siapan, u.s.a. were is that. that is the u.s.a. research that why don't you. it is all about miterwald, should it be all about mitterwald, mitt for short. don't let this guy cut you short because he will if given a chance. after all he embraces the idea of exploitation for his benefit. does this promote the aspect of

this is the stupidist discussion I have ever seen. The campaign manager for Romney was clearly talking about the campaign being different in terms of message, focus, organization etc. not that Romney is all of sudden going to wake up and change positions on everything.
Obama has more gaffes than anyone. "algae" "inflate your tires" "spread the wealth around" and the list goes on and on. In a war of "gaffes" obama has plenty of them. Also, telling the media that he wants gas prices to go UP!
Of course, democrats want to distract people from the real issue. Obama has no idea how to run a country.
No, he wasn't talking about focus, organization, etc. He was asked a direct question about whether the Republican primaries had forced Romney to move his positions on issues too far to the right. That's when the spokesman uttered the "you just start over and change everything" line.
The question was quite clear and so was the answer.
The spokesman committed that ultimate sin: he told the truth.
It never ceases to amaze me at how indoctrinated the low information voter is and you have to wonder why they even watch someone like Rachel telling it like it really is with stunning insight and intellect and breaking it down so that even the uninformed can grasp it and yet they cannot. I mean, you would think they had some embarrassment in showing such denseness to the world of us who love and admire this brilliant and honest teacher and reporter.

Well done Rachel. It's sad that the lying has become so commonplace that even the most egregious stuff gets shrugged off as SOP. But Mr. EAS really is pathological about it. If he's not actually mentally ill, something rotten about his moral foundation has made it possible for him to stand in front of any crowd of people and say whatever unadulterated crap that he thinks the occasion calls for.
It's amazing how the EAS comment cuts straight to the black heart of who he is, and it was provided courtesy of someone at the core of his support staff, a person who knows Mr. EAS intimately, and who is so steeped in the culture of lying which is the foundation of the campaign, that he tossed the idea out on national teevee as if it was the most obvious approach he could imagine.
The whole thing is saturated with the cynicism that such lying, and such erasing, and then starting a new set of lies is just the way of the world. The lying is the means to the end. And the end justifies the means, however corrupt, false and nasty they may be.
