MItt Romney's staff pulls an April Fools' Day joke on their candidate. So human!

I don't know who it was that told the Repoublican Party to launch a nationwide war on women's health and the rights of women in America, but it was monumentally bad advice. The GOP's big tent has become a pup tent, with seemingly every group outside of white conservatives that make this country such a glorious melting pot tossed out as virtual aliens. Now women are persona non gratta in the Republican Party? How do they think an election can be won in this fashion? The GOP is on a path to extinction... http://www.sunstateactivist.org
I see people whining about Nissan getting the contract for taxis instead of the big 3. I think it's right to go with the best deal. After all, Nissan and other foreign automakers have invested heavily in manufacturing in this country, and even those vehicles made overseas carry many US-made parts, as it's a global market.
It's good to see that my predictions of doom for Republicans on the matter of contraception are beginning to play out. Now these early indicators of actual doom just need to continue. And if there are more Republicans like Sara Taylor Fagen who believe that it is unfair for Republicans to take the heat for positions they have voluntarily taken, then things may go very badly for Republicans in November as such a sentiment doesn't signal any awareness of a need to change course.
MM: it's still all about the downballot races. We HAVE to get the state senators/representatives who push all those ALEC-written bills through the State Legislatures out of office! They got swept in with the TeaParty's anti-Obama backlash in 2010 and it is way past time they got swept right back out again.
Depending on the state and the chamber, plenty of those state legislators elected in 2010 will not be up for reelection this year. But that doesn't matter because there are other Republican state legislators who are, and I doubt that there are any women who have soured on Romney who have any better opinions of other Republicans. Possibly matters are even worse for Republicans further down the ticket. We'll need actual polling to know, of course.
I was especially struck by the part of the USA Today article which said that Romney's support among women had dropped to 30%. I've said elsewhere that the GOP can count on the support of only one-quarter to one-third of all women, with another third solidly in the Democratic camp, and one-third more or less persuadable. But here we have just 30% of women supporting Romney, 60% for Obama, leaving only about 10% up for grabs. Which means that pretty much all of the 'independent' women have fled Romney, and he's not even the most outspoken on attacking women's rights among Republicans. How bad is it down-ballot among the more obvious woman-haters?
I never actually thought it would be this awful for the GOP, at least not this soon. I figured that at least some GOP-leaning independent women would still go that way, but apparently not, not if Romney's only getting 30%. Anything can happen between now and November, obviously, but this is a big problem for the GOP if these results are replicated by future polls. I couldn't be more delighted.
Time to do an exposé on Koch/ALEC!!!

The GOP claim colleges indoctrinate students to become liberals. Yet somehow, the 'coincidental' clone policies in GOP controlled states is just thoughtful governance. Who else but the national Repub. party, with the Koch brothers, Rove and the rest of the 'Dr. Trickle-down gang,' could originate this arrogance as a national policy. I can not imagine any state where the majority of its citizens believe in this type of callousness. If you are not proud of how your state treats its citizens, let go of your partisanship for the good of your neighbors.
