As we were saying last week, the Commonwealth of Virginia offers a special license plate that benefits the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood. We discovered this when Karen Bohn of Spotsylvania wrote it to say that she'd just ordered the plate for herself. It comes with the message "Trust Women. Respect Choice."
After that, you can personalize the plate, so long as you stay within a few rules about not discussing intimate body parts, not being profane, vulgar or sexually explicit, and not being socially offensive. All of the plates you see here appear to have passed muster with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Yes, Virginia, you can say womb, it seems. Whether you'll still be able to say "Gov TVP" -- for "governor transvaginal probe," I think -- seems more of an open question. But for now, you can.

I've found that the most brazen lies about human sexuality, reproductive rights, health care, the environment, energy, foreign relations, and our president's background, all seem to be emanating from a political party who is having to do cartwheels of logic in order to keep from stumbling on its own silly reasoning. Perhaps the leaders of the Republican Party would do well to consider the unintended consequences of constantly being the purveyor of the absurd and hilarious. The creativity of these license plates is just a small indication of the kind of scorn that Republicans keep bringing upon themselves, without any kind of brake being applied by the so called grownups in the party.
Not a plate, but a bumper sticker I was mulling about: "Keep Your Elephant's Trunk Out of My Vagina". Obviously, for a woman, and not for me. I don't have one of those.
I was thinking of a bumper sticker that says something like: Nope, I've looked, no jobs in there!
Me being me, I wanted to response...
"Sons of Confederate Veterans" ==> No N!ggr (some Va. snark)
"Support Our Troops" ==> No Wars (is honesty allowed in Va.?)

What I find the most scary is the same state that want's to put this law into place will also raise money for those of us against it.
The other thing that worries me is that when I speak to moderate republican's (well the men) most of them think this is all a liberal thing, that the press has blown out of proportion. How can we get them to realize what is happening, they just don't get it. They spout about "saving freedom" but apparently freedom is only for those with a penis (or as the another poster said it freedom for those with elephant's trunks :))

Police are looking for a suspect after a bomb went off Sunday night outside a Planned Parenthood clinic in Grand Chute, Wisc.
WGBA, the NBC affiliate in Green Bay, reported the explosion did only a small amount of damage to the building. The television station did not report any injuries.
What, national media pay attention to the tiny Town of Grand Chute in the heart of GOP controlled territory in Wisconsin?

The extreme hatred in the Republican Party has made them completely incapable of leading this country and it doesn't matter which candidate because they are carbon copies of one another. They threw away any reasonable chance of being reliable when they ruined the countries credit standing unnecessarily and their recent attacks on women deem them nuts.
It doesn't matter what comes out of their mouths, they have all signed onto Paul Ryan's bill that gives even more money to the already wealthy and strips seniors and the poor of any basic help.
Jobs? They were the ones that brought this country to it's knees originally and have no intention of doing anything to help now. What good have they done since they have been in power after 2010? What kind of a country are they trying to drag us down to, fits in nicely with Satan.

I feel like republicans and democrats are living in two different worlds. Both sides use a lot of the words 'they, them, those crazy *, etc.' How do we start talking to each other? How do we expose the lies and make a better country? I get so frustrated when I see things like the posts from congressman John Fleming on facebook, intentionally trying to frighten and misinform his constituents.

I don’t understand why it is that people who claim they want
less intrusion by the government into their lives are in favor of the government

They simply do not want the Federal Government to pass intrusive laws.
At the State level they are quite pleased to investigate miscarriages as possible homicides (Utah). Their long term goal is to return government to something more closely resembling the Articles of Confederation that preceded the Constitution. States could then redefine "rights" as "privileges" to be determined by a 51% majority in the state legislatures. So you can't force everyone to buy health insurance but you can force a women to "buy" an ultra-sound she does not want.
