Anybody else see Ted Nugent's asinine comments about Obama being reelected? He said if Obama wins in November, he (Nugent) will either be in jail or dead by this time next year.
Ted, you have never been a font of wit or intelligence, and your musical career died 30 years ago, so you might as well be dead this time next year. Do us all a favor and take that swan dive to the street.
I rate Ted Nugent's import right up there with Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson! Way past their prime and no one cares what they think.
"deem" Ryan budget as law?
So we've got the GOP effectively running government out of one part of the government.
Yes, they control the house. Harry Reid screwed up big time by not changing the filibuster rules when he had the chance. As is being said here, there is no way that the founding fathers envisioned a system where the minority ran the country.
Not that Democrats haven't taken advantage of the same parliamentary dodge when necessary; we have. But "deeming" the Ryan budget law - even for the purpose of setting target dates for appropriations - smacks of chicanery, underhandedness and powergrabbing to this democratic (small AND large "d") lady!
Yes, but CLWF, Republicans have done it so much more and to such a greater detriment to all of us. I think it's time for another summary chart showing the frequency and number of times the filibuster has been used to stop democracy during these past three years and four months. So much hasn't even been able to get a yay or nay vote, and what has, since Coakley lost the Senate seat and the Senate, is very little of consequence (except for maybe DADT repeal.) The President can't even make recess appointments b/c the Congress won't go into recess just to block him. Vote out every Republican!
I didn't think "deeming" in the House was the same as a Senate filibuster. The Senate is it's own goofy animal and the GOP use of the filibuster in the past 15 or so years is an embarrassment and a travesty. Speaker Pelosi, however, was known to use the "deem" dodge to get something accomplished in the House when the Senate was filibustering or otherwise screwing off.
OMG What's that strapped to the space shuttle! Oh that poor dog!
News of the morning:
I received an NRA robocall this morning: The lowly NRA is now trying to stir up their sheep with more BS about a UN peace treaty to ban all firearms in the United States. "and Obama is supporting it" Even politifact negates this:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2010/jun/09/chain-email/chain-e-mail-says-un-treaty-would-force-us-ban-con/
These NRA windbags have way too much power. What do we have to do to get their sorry lobbyists out of our politics?
It is time to "stand our ground" against the fascists in the NRA!
The GOP support the deem act? Never mind!
So how many barrels of oil did it take to get that 747 and shuttle off the ground?
