The American Family Association's Bryan Fischer has a new and typically innovative theory about the motivations of President Obama. To wit (with our own annotations):
"And I believe I understand now what Barack Obama is about.1 And it is intentional, it is not ineptitude on his part,2 it is intentional and his mission in life is to punish the United States for being a racist country.3 That's what drives him, it's what animates him, it's what energizes every single thing he does4 to punish this country, to cut it down to size, to wound it, to hurt it, to damage it, to diminish it in order to punish the United States for being a racist country.5
To Barack Obama, the entire United States of America is one big, giant Ku Klux Klan6 and the Constitution, for Barack Obama, is the membership charter for this giant Ku Klux Klan7 ... And I honestly believe8 that this is how Barack Obama sees the United States of America; one big, giant Ku Klux Klan meeting9 and it's his job to punish the Ku Klux Klan, which is the United States of America in his worldview."10
1 — i.e. I've spent weeks thinking up something even less reality-based than my previous crack-pottery.
2 — Not ineptitude? Bryan Fischer, I'm starting to question your commitment to this cause…
3 — A country so racist, that it would elect someone named Barack Hussein Obama to be its president. Possibly twice.
4 — Drives, animates, energizes---Roget's Thesaurus salutes your use of active synonymous verbs, sir!
5 — Look at what he wears. Look at his family. Listen to how he speaks. Clearly Barack Obama is a rage-filled instrument of pure vengeance.
6 — This info will come as a HUGE surprise to the millions of non white male protestants who live in this country. Bit of a membership shocker for the Klan, too, I suspect.
7 — He must have learned that in one of those radical liberal civics madrassas used to indoctrinate Hawaiian kids.
8 — When people say, "I honestly believe" -- they honestly don't.
9 —Does he mean a big giant meeting of the Klan or a meeting of big giant Klansmen? Giant Klansmen—now there's a Marvel comics villain. Avengers Assemble!
10 —And how does he punish the Klan? By passing health care and killing Osama bin Laden. BAM! Want some more? Huh? Huh….?

People like this are allowed to run about without a leash; they are allowed to breed at will and to vote. Oh My Paws and Whiskers.
Just a regurgitated Glenn Beck hairball...
There's a note to you a few clips back... Sorry you missed the social at the hot tub yesterday...
Man, I went and visualized that. Not cool, not cool at all. :P
Yeah, and their drivel is given a wider audience by TRMS. People like this are irrelevant, "why (in Barbara Bush's immortal words) should we waste our beautiful mind(s) on them"?
Not breastfeed and vote at the same time I hope. I want one of these idiots to give a specific instnace of how Obama has damaged this country. Specific not insane.
American Family Association?
Fooled me, too -- with this fool as a member, I thought AFA stood for "A$$holes For America".
They always have to stick the word 'family' in the names of these groups, for some reason. How about using 'hobo' just for variety sometime? It wouldn't be any more nonsensical.
One must remember that "family", when used in the name of a US political/social lobby group, typically means something like "kill the gays".
Mental illness is sad especially when it manifests itself in ignorant hatred. Somebody call a psychiatrist, that guy is full blown loony.
Someone ought to ask Mitt Romney if he "refudiates" this and will denounce and condemn this and refund any donations from this hateful jerk.
Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen though.
A clone of the Dick Cheney?
People like Bryan Fischer belong in a place with barred windows, padded rooms and plenty of doctors to talk to about their imaginary demons.Sad to say there are many who are just like him.So full of hate, they're lost souls.
Who is this comedian? He is stupid, but funny. OOOOH, you mean he was serious?
There are times in life when the only words that come to you are "what the hell".
"8 — When people say, "I honestly believe" -- they honestly don't."
Which makes it even more reprehensible. Bearing false witness much?
Do you think he's noticed that the President is black?
I don't think he's noticed anything else, frankly...
I thought I had heard all the propaganda that the right wing has to offer. His rhetoric is just astounding, so misguided and I would hate to know how low his IQ is.
Shhhh they don't know that they think he is really white
Sad to say that in the heartland, this could be the exact same sentiment preached from a Christian (not) right (wrong) pulpit. Fear is a terrible thing. Couple that with an errant understanding of Christ's teaching and you have . . . well, you have the American Family Association -- and most other pseudo Christian groups. Take away their tax exemption. My personal task this summer --- visit local churches and stand up and say "Liar!"
oh, my my, gosh dern, the left is sure tolerant of those with whom it disagrees it wants to force them into psych lock-ups just like tovarisch leoni illych did bless the USSR-=-they knew how to handle dissidents
Why should we tolerate this? Why should anyone?
A fellow nutbag?
Camotim confuses tolerance w/ acceptance. I have given this speech so many times.
Tolerance does not mean that you will not disagree w/ a person or that you will not challenge the assertions that a person makes or that you will not state that you dislike a person or even call a person a name. Tolerance means that you won't vote to enact legislation to discriminate against that person, marginalize that person, or otherwise abuse that person. It means you won't jeopardize that person's existence in any way. It means the worst you will do to a person is express your counter opinion. No one here is literally stating that they are going to call up a mental institution and have this man committed against his will (like you falsely assert). No one is going to force this man to stop saying the stupid crap he's saying. Why? Because everyone here is tolerant of him.
But Mickey they aren't agreeing w/ him and are calling him crazy!
Yes, because in a tolerant society this means that both parties get to express their opinions.
What you are confusing here, however, is the idea of acceptance. And acceptance implies w/ it that you have to agree w/ a person 100%. And that is something that the right wing struggles w/ universally and in a way I haven't found much push back in regards to. You want everyone to agree w/ you 100%. If someone points out that your logic doesn't make sense (which isn't even a disagreement, but simply showing that you don't make sense and need to represent the argument differently) then you get upset and believe that person is attacking you. If someone calls you a nut because they think your idea is crazy you believe that person is against you. If someone says they disagree you believe that person hates you. It's an either/or black and white perspective that does not allow for dissent. And this is something that only exists w/ highly authoritarian personalities.
You want people to accept his argument (which means full agreement, full understanding, and no dissent), but you do not want to tolerate anyone else's dissent.
Understand the difference now?
It's the right's black and white thinking on everything that makes them confuse tolerance and acceptance, I think. I remember my first dawning awareness of right-wing thinking way back in the late '80s (although I wouldn't have characterized it in those terms way back then). I was in the audience listening to a rant by one of those rabid wingers who are always making trouble for public schools. In this instance, he was on a tear because one of the high school papers had published an article about some students who called themselves witches. Why, he demanded to know, should we allow the schools to promote witchcraft? I spoke up and asked why he was taking reportage as advocacy and was brushed off. I was much more polite back then and didn't push, but I should have, because if the two were not synonymous (and they aren't) then his complaint was entirely baseless.
But it's just how it is with this sort of person. They seem to think that you can't report without advocating or tolerate without embracing.
Oh come on! What would a dog eating Muslim Kenyan know about the Klan?
That is a very undignified, disrespectful remark which you know is not true. He is an American and always has been so why would he not know about the Klan?
You are so ignorant, maybe you should try to say something a bit more intelligent.
But we know the right has to disrespect President Obama. And we know why.
umm....pretty sure miles was being sarcastic
We should demand that Mitt Romney immediately apologize, load this sack on top of his car, drive to Maine and redeem Mr. Fischer-Mirror of the Mind by repeated washings in the purifying waters of West Quoddy Head.
Rule of thumb: If the organization you work for has "family" in their title and its members are not blood-related, you are in terrible trouble.
Oh, the train of thought you've started! Is Bryan Fischer a made man, do you think? Or maybe he hopes to be.
Well, I guess I missed the meeting memo. Nothing surprises me anymore and this is just beginning. Sheesh.
These wingers will all look like pretzels by the time this election is over.
Their insanity, fear, hatred and racism are causing a mass hysteria of twisting and spinning. And NOT ONE WORD of anything they say EVER rings even remotely true!
It goes from jaw dropping to hilarious but disgusting at the same time.
I don't see that it effects the President. But it effects me as an Obama voter.
I wish I could go into a coma and wake up when it's all over. They make me sick and angry! Ack!!
Me, two!
The really sad part is, there are many people out there who will agree with this clown.
It's interesting the number of old white men who are making these comments! They are trying to remain pertinent in the American dialog and are failing miserably.
Can we call the 800# and/or email this fool? Fill up his mailboxes with some Christian charity?
What drugs are these guys on? I really want to know so thatI stay away from that type at all costs.
Dementia is a terrible thing to witness.
#6 - The Klan must be plenty pi$$ed about not getting all those monthly membership dues.
The Bible charges us to bless those who curse us, we can only Bless the American Family Association.
In that sweetly-venomous Southern way...
"Oh, bless his 'lil heart..."
What a nut and yes Mike M, you are absolutely correct.
