In regards to "Off the Charts: Shrinking Government": If Barack Obama is such a "big gov'ment socialist", then why is it that under his administration GOVERNMENT is SHRINKING? We know G.W.B. (A.K.A. progenitor of the turd on which Karl Rove festered, or simply, turd father) grew the gov'ment (most prominently the "military-industrial complex" [as Ike put it]), so wouldn't that make him a "big gov'ment socialist"? I'll leave it to the conservatives to deny the facts and bury their heads in the sand that is Fox (Faux) News.

In 68 and 72 I voted as a Democrat. From 76 through 2004 I voted as a liberal. Now in just 8 years I went from liberal to progressive to commie. What will the GOP call me if I am lucky enough to be alive to vote against them in 2016 and 2020. I vote in non presidential elections as well, but get called fewer names. I will cast my vote as an American despite the name calling.
Cast your vote as you see fit---for now, but given the chance the right will take away that right.

Bill Richardson made an error in saying that the government of China would grant a VISA. The home country issues passports, but the country a visitor is entering grants a VISA.
My passport came from the American Embassy in Tokyo with no VISA. Japanese immigration put the VISA in the passport. And, I think it is done that way in most cases
Not so. Totalitarian states commonly have exit visas. Heck, in the GDR they had internal visas for their citizens.

I love how when things are improving it's always said that "businesses created" jobs, but when things go bad it's said that "people lost" jobs. Nobody ever says that "businesses destroyed" jobs, even when jobs are lost as a direct result of pervasive institutional mismanagement.

This issue of women being abused, especially the ones who defend themselves, is so hypocritical and double standard. Where it is these certain men who continuously look to condemn women for the wrongs that men do in the world like it is the woman’s entire fault why men kill or abuse other people. When it is really these men who cannot take responsibility or even admit that it is they that cause all this trouble. And when a woman finally stands up to fight back than these men look to condemn, ridicule and persecute that woman even more. These men have got to be really lacking something emotionally or mentally and have got to be the most insecure things around. As a society we really do need to overcome these insecure men and let these men know this activity will not be tolerated.
