As Steve was saying earlier, Ron Paul backers took over the state conventions in Nevada and Maine this weekend. In each case, the Paul crowd captured a majority of the delegates and made the Republican mainstream really, really mad. Mad as in here come the legal challenges mad. Mad as in this, posted last night by Maine State Representative Lance Harvell on the conservative site As Maine Goes:
To those who achieved this "victory" You have won nothing and you have destroyed what took years to build. You torpedoed a ship and have jumped on board claiming victory. You remind me of a t-baller who hits a ball half way to the pitcher and then through a comedy of errors gets home and think you have hit a home run. Good Luck on your own I am done with all of you fools the cult of personality worship I saw reminded me of Nuremberg only the outstretched arms were missing.
As Mama might say, my goodness. Bonus headline from the mayhem: Governor Paul LePage's speech calling on all able-bodied Mainers to "get off the couch and get yourself a job."

Haven't GOP'ers been blathering on and on about "democracy & freedom" - obviously they really didn't mean it about "voting".....This would be funny if they weren't disenfranchising voters throughout the states via legislation.
Hey Lance Harvell! I hope you read this.
First off, you should be aware that by making such statements, you have effectively announced you will resign at the end of this term. You have sounded your next campaigns death knell. We will make sure you are not re-elected. Bah bye.
Secondly, here's the deal...
See, you "establishment" people, with your "party loyalty", have been doing the same thing over and over again for years. And guess what?
WE DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOING!!!!
If you establishment types had been doing a proper job of things, us Ron Paul supporters would not need to get so involved. By screwing things up so badly, you have called us forth like a plague upon you.
We don't care about your party unity crapola. That's just a fancy way of saying that you vote for whoever your criminal masters in DC tell you to vote for.
We are having NONE of that.
If you continue to ignore the will of the people, then we will rise up, and we will FORCE change.
Why is the establishment so hot and bothered for Romney anyways? The guy couldn't even get a majority of delegates from his own home state. That's who can beat Obama? Come on, man. Get real.
NO dems will cross the aisle to vote for Romney. Ron Paul consistently polls better than Romney against Obama, especially among democrats and independents.
Evangelicals will say all the right things in public, but as wrong as it may be, when they are all alone, with nobody looking, they will not vote for a Mormon.
If Robamaney has so much support......Where are they?
How come we can outnumber them so easily? For all the talk of "hijacking", "hijinks", and "arcane rules", we all know that what it really comes down to is simple numbers.
Ron Paul supporters simply outnumber Robamaney supporters at the caucusses and conventions. We win the votes because there are more of us. There is nothing "byzantine" or "arcane" about a simple majority vote. It's just math.
If the establishment gop want to get all butthurt because we the people reject the status quo, then they have forgotten a simple thing.
They work for us.
We can fire them and replace them at will.
And that's exactly what we are doing.
So sorry, no fun trip to Tampa for you! You're Fired!
We The People are rising
Ron Paul 2012
Revolution!
Lance Harvell is OTR, love it!!
What a crybaby! The status quo just doesn't seem to get it that people ar sick of politicians thumbing their noses at the Constitution of the United States. Ron Paul is the first honest, decent man in my lifetime to run for president. God, I hope he wins the presidency! I'm sick of these traitors! Please, folks, if you care about any kind of a decent future for your kids, send all you can afford to Ron Paul's campaign. We've finally got the attention of the status quo and we need to make this a historic, nationwide, all out effort to get Ron Paul elected in a landslide. Do everything you can to help the cause. There may never be another Ron Paul. There may never be another chance to break free from the criminals that have taken over our government!
We can only hope.
absolutely not.
he's a racist and hates the gay.
Yes, I'm going to send all I can to an anti-choice, crackpot who sent out racist newsletters and considers the Pill a sign of America's immorality! Where's my checkbook?!
(Hint: It's right here in my purse and that's where it will stay.)
@Marcelline.....So, so, so WELL SAID!!! > He may see many of the governmental flaws and the fed, but he is NO representative of the people by any margin!! Talk about a blind ability to to look the other way out of desperation....It's sad that so many smart people think Paul is a good replacement to send to the White House....just SAD!
Ron Paul is nothing but an old crackpot.
Perhaps not, but there will likely be quite a few more Ralph Naders, and it looks as though Paul may be one of them.
Do you really think the American people are supporting Ron Paul for his personality and old guy charm? Of course not. It's his message, and credibility.
Sorry, ATX, but his message and credibility are what make him the carnival side show barker that he is. His message and credibiity are what put him on the margins of political debate, where he will stay until he realizes what a fool he's making of himself and goes away.
He may be a carnival side show, but the GOP better pay attention because the old man and his supporters are about to hi-jack the convention.
Why are they so mad? Isn't what happened exactly the same as the Primary election itself where the few who show up ended up winning the voice? Are they mad because Ron Paul's supporters are outsmarting them in that they actually THOUGHT about showing up the second time around to make sure that their delegates are the one who are in?
That's the problem about flock of sheep....if "Peter" isn't smart enough and have the brain to think and just take them to the edge of a cliff, the whole flock will jump off...then all "Peter" can do is get mad....
Because their guy was supposed to win the rigged game.
The legitimacy of a process is a function of its results. As long as elections put the right people in office, they're good. If, on the other hand, they elect the wrong people then Steps Must Be Taken.
It's like the elections four years ago: the process was totally corrupt, as evidenced by the fact that a bunch of Democrats (and a Black in the White House) stole the seats that rightfully belonged to Republicans.
Wow. You gotta give the guy credit for coming up with analogies that run the gamut from t-ball to Hitler.
Hitler, himself, a pretty good t-ball player, as it turns out.
Everybody's Hitler when the Republicans can't get their way.
Yep...he invoked Godwin's law...he automatically loses.
As the ad sings..."I Want It ALL"
His campaign has failed to address his racist letters of 30 years ago. There's no sweeping them under the rug for those of us that recognize racism as a serious character flaw. Ending the drug war isn't enough for me to support a guy that hates and fears other humans because of their skin color.
Actions Speak Louder than Words... yea lets keep the war on drugs going that really helps
But, you guys don't care that they are doing this with our money:
http://defense-update.com/20120507_washington-allocates-a-billion-us-to-support-israels-active-rocket-missile-defenses.html
Can we stop beating that dead horse? It's been addressed, he refuted it while still taking responsibility for it because it was sent out under his name. It was 9 newsletter, particularly one that had a byline that, when released on the internet, suddenly disappeared. Ron Paul was practicing medicine at the time, not gallivanting across the country persecuting black people...good lord. This argument is just asinine. The man has given free health care to minorities who couldn't pay, rather than accepting Medicaid or Medicare dollars. He opposes the drug war because it disproportionally incarcerates minorities for crimes that are committed by people of all races. Dr. Paul has Libertarian ideals as well as TRUE Republican ones, and if you would bother to do any research, you would know that those include equal rights for ALL. Republicans put the first black people in Congress. They ended slavery, they ended segregation, and they called for universal suffrage for all, including blacks and women. Just because some idiot decided he would use someone else's name to push his own agenda, Dr. Paul is going to be haunted for the rest of his life by people like you for things that he certainly does NOT believe. Ridiculous. Why don't you turn off that TV and open a book, eh?
I do care, and know ron paul will do NOTHING about it. He defended his racist pamplets that contained imaginary institutes "proving" his racist opinions all the way up to 2007, whne he decided to run for president. Then his current "senility" about the issue kicked in. And, it is so blindingly obvious from that from some itme in March on he was working WITH romney's campaign, as his attacks on romney vanished while he truned them up on santorum and gingrich shows ronny can bought just as easily as any other republican or libertarian, since they ONLY care about money and power.
He had newsletters, several different ones. Investment news and such. Six went out with 9 rather racial remarks, that he did not write nor knew about (the newsletters had been turned over to others). He stepped up and took responsibility for the remarks, even though he didn't write the comments, but the letters had his name on them.
Even though he didn't write those remarks, he apologized anyway, on the basis of principle. This seems to be the only thing anyone can criticize Paul on, other than just marginalization based on skewing facts.
I can furnish you with a litany of lies from both Obama and Romney, where no responsibility, culpability nor apologies were offered. In Obama's case, many humans died based on his lies. Does anyone care? Remember this?
"I will promise you this; That if we have not gotten those troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get the troops home, we will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank!"
How many active soldiers heard this in 2008 and voted for Obama based on that promise? Of those that did, how many are now dead?
Mitt will continue on in Obama's footprints, rewarding Wall Street and war profiteers to the detriment of Americans.
the GOP made the system which caused this. they should have known this was possible. if they didn't then that tells you a lot about who's running the show. if they did know this was possible but didn't do anything about it, then that makes them look even worse.
As Rico Bandello (Edward G Robinson) says in Little Ceasar...."You can dish out, but you just can't take it!"
Well said, D. Hokkanen! (Bonus points for the great pop reference.)
There's, of course, no doubt they would be singing a different tune if it was happening to the other side (Democrats). Only they (Republicans) get to rig the system to make a permanent majority. I agree with others on here who have done their due diligence and researched Ron Paul and know who he really is--his actions as well as his words. He may say some things that some people like but the whole Ron Paul package is one bad Ayn Rand deal. I hope that anyone who backs her (Ayn Rand's) totally cold, amoral and selfish world views never gets anywhere near the levers of the government (esp. Paul Ryan, Rand Paul and his daddy).
Racism aside, a bit of history would indicate that Dr. Paul's economic policies would be a total disaster if he were able to get them implemented. Dr. Paul wants to cut the federal budget about 25% in one year. Heinrich Bruning cut about 7% of Germany's budget in 1930, spreading the cuts out over two years and it destroyed the German economy and political system which helped lead to having a very bad man become chancellor.
Plus Dr. Paul's 27% cuts are not very evenly distributed. 15% cut in defense, food stamps 63%, Medicaid 35%, the State Children's Health Insurance Program 44%, WIC 33%. So it would seem Dr. Paul wants to balance the budget on the backs of women, children, the poor and the needy. Very compassionate man, that one is. It would seem that life under a Ron Paul administration would see the wealthy get even more wealthy while the middle class would continue to shrink and the number of those living below the poverty level would continue to rise.
How is this any different than what we currently have?
Spending billions of dollars in Wars is ok thought
Well, under ron's budget, as just posted above you marco, we WOULD still be paying MORE for WAR.
Or, did you flunk 6th grade factions and percentages, and don't realize that 15% is SMALLER than 63% or 44% or even 33%.
RBritt... Are you an Obama supporter, then?? Romney and Obama have the same agenda.
Ron Paul wants to get people OFF of the welfare programs! You will HAVE to earn what you get! No more handouts! No more bailouts! No more war!! I don't think people understand how much money is wasted by our government. I think people fear the type of freedoms that Ron Paul wants to give us BACK... that are rightfully ours! We are so used to being told what to do, how to think, and who to vote for that for some of the "We the People" are sick and tired of it. We want our rights restored and Ron Paul is the ONLY one who is talking about what we need to do to fix the problems. We (Ron Paul supporters) have had to work twice as hard to even have the People KNOW that Ron Paul even exsists~much less get FACTS out their for the People to DECIDE for THEMSELVES who to vote for!
This is comical. Ron Paul only lost Maine because of election fraud by the GOP establishment and Lance Harvell has the audacity to put this out? This guy needs to lay off the psychotropic medications.
Wonderful - the Paulistas have mastered the old Euro-communist tactic of winning by sticking around until everyone else has gone home or has stopped paying attention. More seriously, I have a question: I realize that the delegates are in most cases legally beholden to vote for whomever their state's voters voted for, at least on the first ballot or two, but what happens if they don't? Are fines or jail terms involved? Would that automatically revoke their status and nullify their votes? Does the answer vary state by state? Or does everyone else just get to sit around and opine that they really shouldn't have done that?
He has horrible grammar.
*giggle*
*snicker*
haha
hahahahahaha...
omg lmao...
ahhahahahaha...
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
And, folks want these folks in the White House?
lmao..ahahahahahahaha!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!..
omg..stop..just.stop.
Ya know?.... I have to laugh ahahaha! Republicans get their panties in a wad whenever one of their schemes backfires in their faces. Gotta love this. Wah wah wah...
The GOP is like a patient dead set to commit suicide but won't, why, because it can afford the most expensive counteractive counselor around, known as the Democratic Party.
Want to know why Ron Paul won my vote?
He has NEVER voted to raise taxes.
He has NEVER voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has NEVER voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has NEVER voted to raise congressional pay.
He has NEVER taken a government-paid junket.
He has NEVER voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted AGAINST the Patriot Act.
He voted AGAINST regulating the Internet.
He voted AGAINST the Iraq war.
He DOES NOT participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
He calls for 1 trillion dollars in spending cuts in the first year 2013.
He understands the inflation tax.
He is the champion of Liberty.
Why is this so unappealing to others?
It's appealing to me Nick!!! Ron Paul is the real deal, I guess some of these people just like LIP service.
Ron paul has supported racism, would give the states the power to strip women of access to abortion AND contraception, supports the idea of selling meth and heroin in your local walmart, and has NEVER accomplished a single act in Congress, EXCEPT to squeal about getting massive aid from FEMA, which he has voted REPEATEDLY to eliminate, when Hurricane Rita hit Galveston.
*Ron Paul's journal has supported racism, yes. Still, Ron Paul is the most popular Republican candidate among non-whites! This is essentially the same argument as Obama's being a "racist" of "America-hater" because he went to a "racist, America hating church."
*Ron Paul abides by the constitution... That's what the government hasn't been doing since Bush. The Constitution and its amendments were written to be the law of the land, so why have we drifted this far as to where people get all up in arms when Ron Paul follows it to a t?
*Paul does not support the idea of selling meth or heroin. The drug war IS a failure and is continually pushing us further in to debt. Paul supports leaving it up to the states to determine the legality of drugs. In the UNLIKELY event that meth and heroin were legalized, I highly doubt the drug dealers would sell them in my local Wal Mart. (The chances of this argument are so negligible).
*He has never accomplished a single act in Congress because he is an honest man. He isn't corruptible like many of the others. Again, his votes side with the constitution. If you find a problem with constitutionality, move elsewhere.
*Look up the 2012 NDAA. FEMA has been building prisons all over the United States. This act also allows MARTIAL LAW IN THE UNITED STATES. This act takes away your 4th ammendment. The military can arrest you and place you in one of the FEMA camps indefinitely, without trail, without cause, without evidence. They just can. (This is not a conspiracy). If people would just do a little research, or read the dang Act itself before crying conspiracy, they would realize this too. You need to do some filtering though, some of the websites take it overboard. Seeing how FEMA is for this, and for other reasons, Paul is against them.
*Any other questions/concerns?
Ron Paul 2012!
words of wisdom from Mitt Romney:
"I have a reset button"
"Let Detroit go Bankrupt."
"I don't care about really poor people."
"Corporations are people. Of course they are!"
"I like to be able to fire people."
"$10,000 bet??"
"speakers' fees from time to time, but not very much." (not very much was $374,000)
" I have some great friends that are NASCAR team owners."
"My wife drives a couple of Cadillacs"
"I need an elevator in my garage"
" the trees are the right height"
You forgot Ann Romney: "We struggled when we were in college, even though we had about $300,000 that was left to us by Dad."
It is amazing that people still think there is a difference between the GOP and the dems.
Ron Paul is honest and If you can't say anything else about him you can say that.
Therefore I will vote for him. He calls the federal government out on their invasion into our personnel lives. He is the only one that is telling it how it is and explaining to the American people how our country got to be in this mess. THE FED! He is the ONLY one that has brought forth these very real issues.
The social issues need to be set aside because there is something much bigger going on this country and it stands to ruin us ALL.
Ron Paul is winning because the camp is NOT allowing the RNC to CHEAT. We know what they are doing, and we caught them and now we will defeat them.
Dr. Paul is more then a presidential candidate, he is a messenger of truth and a teacher of LIBERTY. Once you people can wrap your heard around that you will see why we Ron Paul supporters fight so hard. We have much admiration for our candidate. We know he can begin the restoration of America and we understand that he needs our help.
Truth alone will endure, all the rest will be swept away before the tide of time. I must continue to bear testimony to truth even if I am forsaken by all. Mine may today be a voice in the wilderness, but it will be heard when all other voices are silenced, if it is the voice of Truth.
~ Gandhi
WE HEAR YOU DR.PAUL!!
Tarra well said!! Also where does most of his campaign donations come from?? The American Military and The American People support his campaign not Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and the other banks that own Romney and Obama.
Ron Paul is winning everywhere but they (GOP) are pissed because they cant manipulate the delegates like they can the popular vote.....
Mitt Romney and his team of lil money hungry bitches need to stop crying because they are losers.....
Mitt Romney cant organize state conventions to win delegates....how in the hell do you expect us to believe he can run this country....
Mitt Romney belongs in jail for his criminal activities......not in the White House.
They told us the Mafia was defeated....bull@!$%#. The Mafia took over our Gov't.
Mitt Romney looks like a gangster to me, and he acts like one too......
This is so sad....and infuriating. The Ron Paul campaign is playing ethically by the rules, and the fascist and warmongering gop establishment is crying because we are better at the game.
They're crying because we believe in what we are fighting for. They know what is coming. They're losing they're grip on our country.
Oh I should add, Romney only appears as the "frontrunner" because the gop rigged the elections and caucuses! We have a lot of proof. It is harder to change the results of the delegate allocation conventions when most of the people who show up support the Ron Paul campaign!
