This will be my first Mother's Day without my son Trayvon. I know it will be hard, but my faith, family and friends will pull me through. On Sunday, I'm going to say a prayer for other mothers across America who share this unbearable pain. Just like me, 30,000 mothers lost their children this year to senseless gun violence.
Nobody can bring our children back, but it would bring us comfort if we can help spare other mothers the pain that we will feel on Mother's Day and every day, for the rest of our lives. I'm asking you to join Florida by calling up the governor of your state to re-examine similar Stand Your Ground laws throughout the nation to keep our families safe. I thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Happy Mother's Day.

Civility in an uncivilized world? Guns don't kill--idiots with guns kill, ban stupidity and bigotry! Hey, the right wants to ban contraception and end voting rights.
Mr. Campbell, you know very well we cannot ban stupidity, or bigotry. But we can repeal idiotic "stand your ground" laws, like this video is calling for.
Note that it ISN'T calling for a ban on all guns.
A lot of Moms will be hurting this Sunday. I lost my oldest daughter to brain cancer March 26, 2012. We all need to find the strength to keep going.
Lost my beautiful oldest daughter Tess March 7th. I have decided to live my best life, of what I have left, because that is what she would have wanted. I want to honor her wishes. She was not a quitter.

I am with Sabrina on this one, only because we both have names that are in common and because we are both mothers who miss our sons and Would like them returned to us someday. Some sweet day we'll be together. We gave the earth our sons and now we would like a receipt please, that says we will see them again one day. They will always remain in our hearts like so many others we lost along the way.
