It was nice to see on tonight's show someone finally remind folks of another provision of the ACA that would also be quite popular if folks were more informed...the 80/20 or 85/15 rule!!! This took effect 1/11 and insurance providers need to submit reports to the Health Secretary by 6/1 of the previous calendar year and if 80 or 85% of premiums received were not spent on direct medical costs, customers receive a rebate. No expections...
I have long wondered why the individual mandate was unpopular with republicans (their idea) who receive the lion's share of contributions from health insurance industry. Why would the insurance company's oppose a mandate!?! My guess is they don't but they loathed the cap on profit margins...a harder position to gain public support for repeal. So with this end effect now, insurance companies keep 15 to 20% of revenues for operating costs, salaries and share-holder dividends...unless of course these folks want to give up their bonuses to continue to lobby Congress...
What would be nice to learn is prior to this cap, what percentage where the actually paying on direct medical costs?

And believe me, they will NEVER stop until they ARE stopped. They will push and push and push because what the right wants is total dictatorship. And they are completely open about it too. Karl Rove has said time after time that he wants "a permanent GOP majority". They are also totally open that they want to end ALL discretionary spending on entitlements.
So... by their own words, the right wants a government that is just the military and the police and consists of single party rule. What do you call that? What word do we have for a nation that has ONLY a military, ONLY "certain people" are permitted to vote, and SINGLE part rule?

Yeah, but lately, maybe I would say the last 10 years , there is a double standard in our great nation. Those who abide by the law and those who do not. Those who do get away with it scott-free( I wonder where this quote originated from, someone named Scott got away with it a long time ago) maybe the Scottish, IOKIYRAR which I found out means It's ok if you're a Republican. This is one of the many reasons why the Occupy movement is flourishing, because they are still getting away with it even as we speak. The police have not been instructed yet to arrest these individuals, maybe someday they will. Maybe someday real soon. Americans are very aware of this double standard. And this is the reason they have taken to the streets for all to see and hear. I'm still thinking Occupy Fields of Dreamers is a great idea all we need is farming equipment and we're good to go, if they can break the law in the name of Greed, we should certainly be able to farm and cultivate in the name of Charity. After I pay monthly insurance premiums I can't afford the co-payment to go. Honestly, they got you where they want you, only solution is "Penny Health" trying to find a solution for this
The solution may be to get extremely healthy. And there are alot of ways to do this. Common sense, remember what your ancestors from old taught you. Try these before you run to the Voodoo Dr. I'm nursing a few boo boos right now, and I'm healing. I also have a lot of homework to do in the meantime. Alot of Obamacare hasn't gone into effect yet, so I'm holding on. Meanwhile, back at the farm my yellow squash is blossoming and I have beautiful yellow flowers. Next, I will try my hand at Cantaloupe, I have collected plenty of seeds.
I keep seeing polls regarding people more and less likely to vote for Obama's re-election since he came out in favor of gay marriage. I have yet to see a poll asking how many people are MORE LIKELY to vote for ROMNEY?
I am afraid evangelicals who weren't going to vote for Romney before Obama's statement, have now been pushed in that direction. Please cover this! (keep up the good work!)
Or maybe Evangelist will admit that they do not really know how to interpret the Bible. A little humility maybe in order. But, that which doesn't hurt us will make us grow. They do look like they are carrying a heavy load in which they may need to lighten. The first step may be to admit that the only thing they know is that they really don't know. If they don't know , the truth shall set them free.
Can we as citizens ask our gas stations to please keep these on the pumps or install more of these where there are none. We could refuse to buy gas at the stations that don't have these protective arms. Now, they will start going back to full service stations, there's another way to create jobs but, will we as tax payers have to pay for these folks salaries if they work for the gas stations. I'm gonna start wearing a mask when I fill up with gas maybe I'll start riding my bike and get a little basket for the front of it. I'm thinking golf carts. Golf carts all over the world. Why not. We can even decorate them. Outstanding, I'm definately going Barbie motif. Barbie and I were best friends we were born the same year and I had the first Barbie until my brother chopped her booby off. Oh, well such is life.
If the point was that the Administration looks more efficient by eliminating a regulation - I don't get it. Its not a good move to drop a regulation that protects the environment by preventing the release of nearly 100 percent of these gas pump vapors and to new rules not requiring a vapor catching cuff that now will capture only 70 percent of the "harmful vapors." This is going backwards. And this is supposed to make Obama look like less of a heavy handed regulator than Bush? Not when we need such air quality regulations! I cannot believe that a piece of rubber costs $3,000.- This is bunk - this will not mollify the Republicans and it will lose the environmentalists.
Better get on the bike. Most Golf carts run on electricity. Electricity come from coal-fired plants. Coal pollutes the air much more than gas pumps.
One noted benefit of the ACA has been an increase in lower cost insurance plans. I have received several telemarketing calls and mailings. This was not mandated but the insurance companies are seeing the writing on the wall.
