While watching tonight's video preview, take a listen to tonight's soundtrack. (Just be sure to allow the ad below to play out entirely, before starting the song.)
Executive producer Bill Wolff shares a preview of tonight's show:

The reason Wall Street has given more money to Romney can be explained with the first four words of an over used expression; "Birds of a feather..."
There she is again, Elizabeth Warren, enrolled member in the White Plastic Indian Wannabe Tribe. The CNO allows membership to people with 1/32nd Native heritage, ok. But if that's so, why isn't she enrolled in the tribe?? Where's her blood quantum card from the BIA??
In short, where's the evidence she's Native?? People on this show and this blog claim to be operating in the reality-based world. Often true, but in this case, not true. Where's the beef?
I've met several people who claim to have a grandmother who was a "Cherokee Princess." Of course, there's no such thing, and these people mostly fall into one of two categories: 1. The Pathetic, who think being Native will give them some claim to a life (try being really Native, and, if you live in the dominant culture, you might rethink that); 2. People gaming the system. (Remember Ward Churchill!) So which is it with Warren?
Three choices: 1. Enroll in the CNO or get a BIA card; 2. produce some solid, verifiable evidence; 3. admit the pathetic fantasy and move on.
"Where's the beef?' Or, perhaps, where's the birth certificate? God, I can't take this anymore...sigh!
In Indian Country it matters. A Lot!! Native people have been subject to genocide, theft of tribal lands and property, rank discrimination based on race, national origin, and gender. They have had their identity stolen for generations so people in the dominant culture can make millions of dollars, while Native people are told to go back to the concentration camps (reservations). Then outsiders try gain membership to rip off the tribes (Osage oil) or use it for their own personal gain (Ward Churchill again) while giving back nothing to the People. It's a horrific history that more people need to learn about, just a little.
For Native people, It Matters. A Lot.
Yeah pretty much @David. And then, of course, when it's presented it won't be authentic because...well I mean just look at her! My stereotype of a Native American is that they are brown and wear headdresses and are named "Dancing Bear." If she doesn't look like that then it's automatically a lie!
Mouzer: ROTFLOL
You are a funny guy!
i'm not sure why you're yelling at TRMS here. At no point in time did the interview conducted tonight include anything to do w/ Warren's heritage. In fact that issue hasn't been covered at all by TRMS except for in 1 broadcast where Maddow was explicitly clarifying the news and her broader point was that the attacks on Warren were contradictory and seemingly made Brown appear weaker or confused on his own issues. Warren is not going out and campaigning on her Native American heritage or lack thereof. She is not bringing this issue to the forefront nor did she initially. So I am not at all sure why you say she should "just drop it." A person not discussing an issue cannot drop discussion of that issue. That's just...illogical.
It seems to me that what you're upset about is the fact that Harvard allows for people w/ 1/32nd heritage to qualify for their diversity program. In which case it seems to me your complaint should be w/ Harvard admissions and in particular Harvard's diversity program since that's clearly what you're objecting to. If you feel that 1/32nd isn't good enough to meet this qualification then it would seem that Harvard is the entity to complain to. Everyone that applies for jobs like this (or students who apply for scholarships, grants, or loans) will always look for any special benefit they can get. In the case of students applying for school this is standard practice. You can get scholarships for lots of things including being up to so much part Native American, having blue eyes and blonde hair, or being Irish in decent. In addition some employers will give benefits to employees who apply as a minority as opposed to a majority since this helps boost the companies credentials (this is big w/ universities) and there is a special tax credit that goes along w/ it. What we do not seem to know here is whether or not Harvard asked Warren to register herself w/ the university as such or if this was done voluntarily. If it's the former then you are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of line in your complaint. If it's the latter then I could at least see the context of your complaint, but it would still seem misplaced to me since Warren isn't the one running on this issue. Since she's not peddling the issue or making the claim it's illogical and silly for you to then harass her on this basis. Since she is 1/32nd Native American and hasn't gone around talking about being Native American or this or that relating to her "Native" ancestry you cannot claim hypocrisy or lying in this particular instance.
So again your complaint is either misplaced or wildly confusing.
Mouzer: You don't seem to have your facts straight at all. Consider,
1. Warren started it by claiming Native heritage, not once but several times. Therefore the onus is first with her (and Harvard too, for not checking out her claim). And she is running away from the issue like crazy --
2. When the flaws in her case were brought up, she ducked and danced around the issue and never, never, offered any evidence of her heritage. If Repuglikkklans had done the same thing, MSNBC would have been all over them. In fact, it has been. Really h*ll when the shoe's on the other foot, isn't it?
3. With Native heritage, and this pertains because of the unique legal status of Native people, if you claim it, gain benefit from it, and can't back it up with solid evidence, that is lying and fraud. Great credentials for a candidate, enit?
4. So, all she has to do is post her evidence, and this all goes away. Simple.
Elizabeth Warren: The Ward Churchill of Harvard.
With all due respect, what we are seeing today is a war on middle class women. Maybe you didn't notice the war on poor women, in spite of the horrendously high toll it has taken to date. The war on poor women began in the 1980s, and came to fruition in 1996, when Clinton took an ax to social welfare programs, creating what is essentially a system of indentured servitude (cost of failure to obey: Your child can be taken from you "indefinitely," on the ill-defined grounds of "failure to adequately provide"). Our liberal community just wasn't very interested, so we knew it was inevitable that this ideological and economic war would move up the ladder, putting middle class women back in their place. Yes, divide and conquer does work.
This is one of the first times I've disagreed with how you covered a story.
I saw "Meet the Press" Sunday and had some of your same feelings about J.P. Morgan angling to continue the same risk factors and the same deregulations. But, what I heard him say was to close the loopholes and that Dodd Frank didn't go far enough. I heard him say to get tougher. 99% of his comments were damning to the GOP agenda. Use it!
I think your point would have been more effectively made if you pulled his quotes in answer to the Rrrraance's idiotic remarks. There have been some resignations already, and Elizabeth Warren surprised me with an political expected dogma. I am a huge fan of both you and Elizabeth Warren but this segment made me a little angry.

When the republicans want to discuss gay marriage, Romney states "Culture matters". When the republicans don' want to discuss the gender gap, Romney and the Republican spin machine states, all women care about is the economy (or in the women's issues, culture doesn't matter).
The Job Creators are trying to tell us that they would feel more confident if there were less abortions. The Tea Party are advancing a plan - have faith!
Hope you'll invite US Senate candidate Marisa DeFranco on your show when she gets her 15% at the MA Democratic Convention in June.
