one of these days you might actually say when a guest host will be filling in for rachel. is that too much to ask?
MSNBC does not think we are adults... thus the subterfuge....
Sick and tired of turning on TV to se RACHEL and get Ezra instead! IF I wanted to see him I would watch HIS show. BUT - I prefer the Rachel Maddow Show with RACHEL there, and not Ezra over and over again.
I agree with nutmeg mel - AT LEAST have the decency to TELL us when you are on one of your MANY, MANY days off, and maybe even use someone besides Ezra to substitute. Getting aggravated JUST enough to stop watching altogether.
wow, Ezra is doing ok. What is wrong?
Wow, give the women a break.
Jared Bernstein,
I hope you will talk about the following along with whatever else you have to say :
The social safety net programs that President Obama and the Democrats, Progressives and Independents are fighting for ( which are paid for from American tax dollars and then given back to Americans in the form of services etc. ) are NOT the cause of our national debt and deficit and we all know this. What the Tea Party Zealots and Radical, Right-Wing Republicans are trying to do is cut legitimate spending to cover up corrupt spending. We all know this, too. At least those of us who do not have their propaganda spoon fed to them by Faux Noise and other Radical, Right-Wing talk show droids.
The following are just a few examples of where our missing tax dollars have gone :

Cutting legitimate spending for social safety net programs that are already paid for is not how we balance our national budget and get rid of our deficit. Cutting corrupt spending is what we need to do to stop American tax dollars from being siphoned out of our economic system by corrupt Politicians and Vulture Capitalists.

We cannot allow legitimate spending to be cut while corrupt spending goes untouched.
True so true. The deficit is a debt that will be with us because when Bush gave subsidies to companies to "help" them move overseas, they caused a decreased in tax revenues. He gave away our tax $ as a gift to invest over seas. The least he could have done was to "loan" the money to expand but not to completely move. Instead he gave them money to create over here unemployment and poverty.
Then he created the two wars, to give the impression of jobs creation. Those military jobs were not private sector jobs. Their salaries came from our coffers, and we borrowed money for that creating a bigger debt which will continue increasing daily year by year for over 10 years.
And what is the saboteur GOP congress doing. Debating abortion, and birth control, holding the economy hostage and fighting any effort to bring the economy to balance.
Thank to President Obama being resourceful enough to put this country in the positive side of the graphs even with a bad congress. Imagine how much better it will be with a good Democratic working congress. That is what we should give him coming November. President Obama has very good proposals that will greatly improve tax revenue, reduce redundant spending and will level the playing field by balancing the tax code.
For far too long Americans have accepted the upper class 15% controlling 95% of the wealth while the majority bottom 85% shares only 5% of the wealth. It is time policies change to give the majority a fighting chance to survive. Financial persecution seems to be the Ryan agenda which Romney will adopt if he wins.
Very articulate Afromi and sooooooo very correct !
It is just so beyond frustrating that no one in the media is keeping corruption in the picture of WHERE our tax dollars have gone. It is no small number. It is trillions of dollars and dozens of scams !
Rachel,
If we ever needed the "Talk me Down" segment brought back, it's got to be now! It's almost impossible to listen to the Republican Talking Points of the day in this unending campaign season without some serious depression or raging anger to take hold of my more rational self.
Thank you for what you do.
