Our coolest president since JFK should bring back the hat! Be it Samuel L Jackson's Kangol , or Ike's homburg, it would revive a moribund (dead?) American Industy. When I was a '50's teen ager in Philly, Stetson Hats employed thousands.

I am the 4th generation owner of Meyer The Hatter and I can assure you that the straw hat shown in the picture is Made In America. It is called a Milanette Telescope and is made for our store by the Ozark Hat Co. in Missouri. It is a style from the 1950s and 1960s but is still popular today.

@ Paul: Looking forward to a visit next month. I need a new Stetson Panama and the Milanette looks interesting as well. As a somewhat regular customer (one or two hats a year on average) I am familiar with the well deserved reputation of your store and family name.
