Apologies for an OT post, and for a moment of silliness in the context of all the serious and frustrating news of late, but I was wondering: did I miss something (quite possible)? Or have there not yet been announced any "favorites" from the submissions invited by Sunita Sohoni's blog entry from 5/25/2012, "Alliteration Alert"?
Confused commenter cautiously coaxes...

Liquid vs. Solid vs. Hot-Air
Walker & Company are reelected in Wisconsin with over thirty percent support by union members. Wow ! It’s a divorce !! During my twenty some years as a Union member, I saw and did many straight things. When I entered the labor force in the early 70’s, I was told, “ labor unions are lazy and corrupt “. Stories of it requiring ten union members to change a light bulb were common. And I believed all of it. So for my first 15 years working non-union, I had no pension retirement fund or health care coverage, or savings. I just didn’t think I’ll need it. Me ? 65 years old ?? No way ! Then I bought a house, and with wife and children, were totally swamped in debt, until I got a union job. Yes, we were metal workers. Welders, machinist, and assemblers. And yes, as an early non-union union member, I got wrote-up for violating union rules more than once. OK, I changed the bulb myself. But I also was wrote-up by a company foreman for commenting critically on his managerial skills. I mean , he fired me, right then and there. ! And so if not for my useless-union, which I hated , insisting I get a second chance, my union experience would have been brief. Instead, 19 years later, I retired as department leader over 30 people in a cutting edge multi-million dollar high-tech machining department. Unfortunately, we were competing with our own company’s China operation. We came close, but we didn’t win.
* Most of my fellow union members were also deer hunters. There was always an NRA magazine laying around mixed up with Rifle this and Rifle that on the lunch room table. I saw many of my fellow union members vote NRA/GOP because the NRA told them that the bad old Democrats were coming for their deer rifles. And they often then went out and bought more guns. Before-it-is-to-late ! This would happen for most every election cycle. Some of the guys had collected an embarrassing stock pile of fire arms. Looks like it still works. . . . .
*sigh*
To me the bottom line is -- things are never black and white.
No matter what the issue there are probably valid points on both sides.
"Unions are good / management is evil". well no - not always.
"Unions are evil / management is evil". Nope not right either.
There will always be a tension between the workers and the management.
Management needs workers / workers need management.
The struggle is not for one side to conquer the other. The struggle is to find the balance.
And for something even more strange , I mean straight , In one of my last Union meetings we were handed out official embroidered Union caps. When I looked at the label on the inside of mine, it said ( Made in Indonesia ). . .that is not good. . .right ? ?
Wow - sing with me "Look for the union label..."
We may not be free ? But I do see evidence , we can be very cheap ! . . ?

2.2 trillion dollars is needed, and for every dollar invested brings out $5 in return. So it would really help with help getting a $11 trillion dollars into the system.
Jobs in manufacturing is slow going, But the GOPs manufacturing is at an all time high!
What if Hot-Air became as valuable as gold ? The GOP’s GDP output of hot-air could fix the entire world economy . .!
Dear Staff,
Please post a list of your sources, for each show, on the Maddow Blog. I think it would be nice to go back to the sources and read the in-depth articles.
Thank you.
James, they pretty much do that already. Some recent examples:
Links for the 6/6 TRMS
Links for the 6/5 TRMS
Links for the 6/4 TRMS
etc. If your looking for links from a particular show, you can find them easily by scrolling just a bit down from the top of the main page, where, on the right hand side of the page you'll find a series of links to previous blog entries. These links are organized by month, or "by tag". The second link down in the list "by tag" is the link to... well, the "link" blog entries:

The links for tonight's show should be posted soon.

Rachel, I recently voted in the California Primary. It tripped me out they it is done now, but what can we do. I voted against this measure. I am a Democrat and vote straight up party line. What I would like to know is how are these so-called polls made, ie that President Obama is up or down. I read some of these polls and they say that they talked to one-thousand people or persons to come up with their percentage poll. Now, in the Cal. Primary, President Obama was on the ballot so I voted for him. Now the results are in and I see a number, a total amount of votes and now we can see real numbers to make a sound decision based on these numbers. I want to know how many votes President Obama got in the other State Primary(s) so I or we can make a sound decision as to who is up or down. Not some fantasay number pulled of a hat of one thousand people or persons. Now where can I get these figures or numbered votes President Obama has received since all of the Primary mess started. Thanks "Sonny"
Democratic candidates and parties and other groups aligned with the Democratic Party had raised about $35 million near the end of April — nearly matching the $37 million raised by GOP candidates and Republican political action committees and other groups.
That is impressive.
Organized labor indeed.

I understand the "bitter best" thing at the end--remember Indianapolis? But if you want to talk bitter, I have just spent 48 hours in a very dark place in my soul, and I'm not entirely out of it yet. When I heard that Walker had survived the recall, and that this was (rightly or wrongly) perceived as the first fruit of Citizens United, I came to a bitter realization:
that the world is a whore, and Almighty God is just her pimp. Sorry about that.
Re Romney's repeated and shamless lying, I think it would be a very good idea if someone made a simple sign based on the RRRomney logo that reads:
l i a RRR
using the same colors and design of the Romney sign, the RRR in red, white and blue. It would look excellent as a comment at Romney rallies.
I can't say that I usually agree with you but I do tune in to hear your thoughts. I gives me perspective.
Tonight I was appalled. You spent a segment mocking people because of their names. You mocked so hard it brought you to tears of laughter. While you mocked the birther you also mocked the other for no other reason than his name. As someone who spent his younger years mocked for his name I find that despicable.
You are just a media bully.
You.....a sexual minority who has probably heard her share of mocking and taunts and if not you maybe your partner. Mocked for being what you are by birth.
Then you mock to your a own amusement a name those people were given at birth. A name with a family history a name they may in fact be proud to bear.
Disagree with the politics, ethics, beliefs.
I no longer care for your thoughts or opinions. You have shown your true nature. No more enlightened or empathetic than the middle school bully.
How small you have shown yourself to be Ms. Maddow.
Laugh on. Just not on my TV.
Yes, just as Mitt used to hold down kids and forcibly cut their hair, Rachel (it is rumored around here ), used to hold people down and tickle them ! Just a common bully, really ! My Grandma used to do that to me and I really did not like it.
47500 dead in five years! And we have heard nothing of a pull out.

I find it very disgusting to find this gets very little press...WHY? I guess the next war is going to be with Mexico and or South America.
I really do think its the easiest way to launder money in huge amounts for covert ops. So its been said you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette.
