Rachael - RE Mitt Romney lying - Research "Lying for the Lord" it's peculiar to the LDS religion. Romney has apparently extended it to include his campaigning.
Rachel, the Florida voting registration maybe a smoke screen for a secret agenda to get the access to the Department of Homeland Security data list, once you get that access to the list you can use it not only for purging illegal immigrants from voting to using it to purge your drivers license, then giving that access to the local police to stop and arrest any illegal immigrants in your town, how about giving that access to the list to your local hospital emergency room to prevent them from giving care there to any illegal immigrants, the State of Florida could think of all kinds of other uses for that list if only they had the access to the DHS data list. I was taught in high school American History class that in the United States you are innocent until the state proves you are guilty except in Florida where you are put on a purge list where you have to correct it yourself, that is unamerican and maybe unconstritutional.
The same people who believe President Obama is a Muslim and was born in Kenya, who think White House cronies and family were involved in Solyndra, who are angered that the TSA gives special treatment due to religion at airports, the same people who think flouride in our drinking water is a plot by the CIA - those are the people that Karl Rove and the Koch brothers are aiming for. If you put enough mistatements out there, things that back up their your view, most will stick. That is why their boy, Mitt, isn't retracting or correcting anything he's said. Let it ferment awhile. You can always say "Oops" and "Sorry" after it's done its deed. Karl and the brothers don't think very highly of the American people and their ability to work out when they're being handed a gob of bull. Sadly Wisconsin kind of validated that...
They really should check all of those peoples' birth certificates. They appear to ignore facts and they keep repeating themselves , you would think by now they could come up with a better plan than that, it's pretty lame. Check their birth certificates, I think they're from another planet maybe Mars, we should ask Charlie Sheen if he's ever run into them. I'm from Venus and they won't be caught dead on our planet.
I'm not Politically Correct all the time. In fact I am positive that correct is correct. "Politically" has NO effect on correctness. That said--
Muslims have themselves to blame if the TSA singles them out for extra screening. In the same way English soldiers had to watch out when they were in Northern Ireland's Catholic neighborhoods. Lately, Israel and the West have been attacked by Muslim terrorists not Polynesian terrorists. Israel has been attacked by women carrying suicide bombs. So that makes Muslim women match the description of the suspect.
The same as when there is report of a robbery and a description (example, a white man, 200 lbs, wearing a blue windbreaker, heading west on 3rd street) and a cop sees a person who fits the description, and so he stops him.
Steve,
Your comments have nothing to do with being "politically correct" - they have everything to do with being a SMALL MINDED RACIST!!
My top boss is an American muslim and he is among the finest men I have ever known. My doctor is an American muslim and he too is among the finest men I have ever known.
Should we hate all white people because Eric Rudolph, Ted Kaczynski, and Timothy McVeigh were terrorists? Should we be afraid of YOU?
Just when I think Americans are FINALLY losing their xenophobia, people like YOU slither out of the woodwork!!
We might as well stop everybody then and check them, which we do at the airports, so what's the problem? We're all your usual suspects. They even check elderly women carrying knitting needles. Nobody is exempt from the scrutiny we all undergo at Airports. So what, don't fly, it's too expensive anyway, it has now been reserved for the rich and famous. Flying is again considered a luxury, how great is that, Romney and his friends feel all smug about that one. "Na, na, na, na, na, na, no flying in an airplane for you, You peasants."
They say we are part of the primate family and actually it is true. Here is an example – a monkey has a bunch of crackers and sees another monkey have a bunch of grapes. Now the monkey with the crackers wants those grapes so runs over to steal away the grapes for himself from the other monkey without any concern on how that other monkey would feel about it. But the grape monkey doesn’t like that and looks to fight back. The grape and cracker monkey’s only concerns are their own selfish desires and both lacks the ability to think about what they are doing. Now of course, one of the main differences between humans and monkeys is, we have more developed brains and a level of intelligence that we can bring into focus what the results of our actions would be and create. We can rationalize that if we shared the crackers and grapes, we could get a long much better and everyone would prosper. But we still do have to realize that there are people out that still do act like the monkey. Here is an example, President Obama is acting as a human using his intelligence in the right way so all people can benefit and prosper. But now we have people like Romney, Ryan, Gingrich, Boehner, Canter, Santorum, Palin, Bachman, certain rich people and the list just keeps going on that are really just acting like the monkey where they just take and take without any capability of a real intelligence. These people are not really using any form of a well-developed brain to even think about their actions. These people that no matter what want it all even at the price of bringing misery, despair and death upon others.
I'm still trying to wrap my thoughts around the idea of how Mitt Romney thinks his constant lies, misstatements, and misinformation will lead to a winning strategy.
The only conclusion that I can come up with is that Romney is counting on the notion that he can repeat a lie far more often than the same individuals in the media can correct them. He knows that if Rachel or Steve or others refute a particular Romney lie today, they aren't about to point out the same lie when Romney offers it tomorrow.
To his great credit, and if only there were thousands more in journalism today like him in this respect, Steve has shown himself willing to address various mendacious matters repeatedly as Willard insists on repeating them.
Rachel, too, though the considerations of presenting a program like this tend to discourage daily repetition, has been admirable in her determination to keep a focus on Raw-money's lying, and not shy about calling it out bluntly for what it is. Indeed, their understandable frustration at the extent to which his remarkable dishonesty has been facilitated by others in the "press" is palpable.
As a Bay Area native, I remember when people actually called themselves LIBERAL, and it was OK. My profession is working with Addicts and Alcoholics in Drug Court. I find it ironic that I spend all day attempting to instill in very sick people the necessity of being honest to get well. When I get home I see a person running for the top political job in the land spouting whatever suits his fancy to gain support from fear based people. Our political landscape has adopted the "lie" as a means to rationalize whatever these folks want. The only problem is they never tell you what that is factually. Didn't the Republicans in 2010 run on a record of creating of creating jobs? Where's the beef?
Honesty has always been the best policy, Romney is looking to change all that. He has his own policies none of which, have anything to do with supporting The American People but, have everything to do with supporting himself and the Large Corporations that he considers represent The American People, he can't ask for the GOP to help him they no longer support The American People either. So, when he's talking about the American People he's talking about the 1% who probably spend most of their time outside of the United States. He doesn't remember a time when people weren't in it for the money, they were in it to help others and to improve the quality of life for those less fortunate. They were in it because they cared about this Country as well as the rest of the World. And they knew that this Country would be worth absolutely nothing if it weren't for it's inhabitants, who are both rich and poor. The poor do not want the rich people's money their only true desire is to live in peace, whether it be on the street or in their car, I can't say house, because that has already been taken from them by the rich.
I find it ironic! I spend all day working with addicts and alcoholics and attemp to instill the notion that to get well they must develop honesty. When I arrive home, I see someone running for president who will say anything to get the job. Didn't the Republicans run on creating jobs as the #1 priority in 2010? I find pathalogical lying as an evil and corroding thread in our society. I hope it stops.
We are not of this world, I will see you in the next one. Some of us strive for a higher existence. The means by which some people try to do this can easily destroy them. When you have had enough you fight back by losing everything, and in the end the meek shall inherit the earth and the love you take equaels only to the love that you make.
