Rachel does not blog here! Steve Benen is Steve Benen. Steve is a long time quality (and quantity) blogger who Rachel stole from The Washington Monthly (The Political Animal) who stole Steve from his own blog The Carpetbagger Report. Appreciate him for being him! While he is not Rachel (nor even a group thinker of Rachel), he is a producer for her show.
The only major downside to Steve posting here is that he was directly accessible thru email while at The Political Animal and The Carpetbagger Report and we could 'feed' him information about local political news and national political news from secondary sources. Have not figured out how to do that here at The Maddow Blog.

It's called the Maddow Blog, but there are actually several different writers that blog here, sort of like everything on the Huffington Post is not written by Arianna Huffington and nor is everything on Daily Kos written by Markos.
I don't believe this will put the slightest dent in your "hardest working political blogger in the world" title. Have fun at whatever else you're doing!
What people keep failing to realize, except the military, is the amount of stress placed on a person when in a life and death situation. That takes a brutal toll on someone’s Psyche. Some people get into the killing more, where they look to fight more thinking the problem will go away than and it doesn’t, it just gets worse. But most people, thank God for that, think killing people is not such a good thing, but the emotional toll on them is great, because of the situation they are put into to literally kill people. And that is where the military sets up a mentality in the person that they must keep killing for them or the consequences will be much greater to themselves if they don’t follow orders to kill other people. And the military keeps really failing to help its own and care to say others, because of that mentality of murder or else. Millions of dollars was spent on how to get people to fire a gun to kill someone, but very little to help the people from the tragic results of military actions. People are literally killing themselves, because they can no longer put up with or take the brutal and savage actions of the military as they see men, women, and children’s body parts flying to pieces as they themselves may be the next victim. But the military keeps up the scam telling these stressed people, you are faking the emotions and stress you are feeling.
Thou shalt not kill, or bribe somebody to kill.

Dear Rachel, we sure do miss you! Your charismatic smile and the funny way you twinkle your nose when you are being sarcastic. I'm so glad you didn't take the advice of some and start wearing jewelry. Like Jeane always said "Jewelry takes away from the essential Beauty that is you" Well, gotta go for now. Both sides need to cease-fire right now. If Jesus were to stand in between these two fighting sides, he would say it doesn't matter the means by which I had died, but, I died praying for my Father to forgive you for killing me. He abhors any wars that were fought in his name. He was not about that. Agree to disagree and let's move on in Peace. What's important is how the story ends. We must continue forward in moving the axis in a more positive way. It's over, nobody wins. What we need to do now as a nation and as a World is to heal this Earth which some are trying to destroy. Give Peace a Chance. Start a new calendar year in January 1sc. That way everybody is happy and we can rejoice in the teachings of Jesus starting over not when the Mayan calendar ends but when the year 1sc starts. The World doesn't have to end just the calendar year does.
