can you imagine how many people would be better off if the army (and it's budget) was 95% corp of engineers...
The poor women speaking with Ezra about how bad for Obama it will be to speak ill of The Bush Man J. R... Is hilarious, seeing as she was the senior director for communications of COURSE she will say that because she is partly to blame as well. Being senior communications director in all if that's what it was.. Hilarious. ; ]
Perfect example of those involved and the gop NEVER even admitting anything at all was done wrong. Never taking the responsibility that they claim Obama should take and Obama wasn't the one who crashed our economy and the worlds economy.
Can anyone say,.. complex.. ;]
Cheers
I was going to leave this alone, but the sheer possessiveness of this statement is irksome. It's also inane. Would this blog highlight something like... "Can you imagine how many real people would be happy if we were all exactly equal in every respect? Actually....
To paraphrase the tweet: 'Can you imagine how wonderful I am for thinking about the less fortunate, being deprived by a nasty old bunch of undeserving rich people?' Moral self-congratulation is not pretty.
Hello Shooter,
You are certainly free to interpret things as you see fit.
But your leap of logic has, IMHO, no relation to the intent behind the tweet. It says more about how you think about things than how the tweeter thinks.
Actually, it says the tweeter doesn't think much all. A two year old thinks the same thing every time someone else gets something they want. Both want to be in charge of redistribution.
So, you actually believe the rich got there all by themselves. Poof, now that's magical thinking. Why aren't you outside playing on your yacht then instead of trying to pick fights? If you think that poor people are jealous of the greedy you are sadly mistaken, they are just trying to find some food to give to their children and they are upset because in order to do this they have to have a job ,and the rich have taken them all away with them and traded their jobs for some more houses or yachts. They even started collecting houses that didn't belong to them. Who could be jealous of greedy people who think like you do? I feel sorry for them because how are they supposed to fit all their stuff in their graves with them. Less is more. And the meek shall inherit the earth because they are the only ones who will take care of it.
Look, I get it. Your life is hard, their life isn't. You have to worry about survival and they don't. Most of all it isn't fair, why does he get a pass and I don't?
Am I right? Consider that somewhere in East Africa, someone else is thinking the exact same thing about you. Life isn't fair, and an accident of birth can't be reversed.
Meanwhile, people here get free education, free food, free cell phones, rent subsidies, transportation subsidies, free medical, and best of all, free money. So, if the East African with a mud hut and cooking fire were to demand you explain your good fortune, what would you say?
The segment last night about the Affordable Care Act was the clearest most concise explanation I have heard.
So - if:
Then you do the following:
Please note that I have used terms commonly used in Industry to analyze and improve processes (Six-Sigma - Lean Manufacturing - Process Excellence)
If you did all of those things, you could reasonably end up with the Affordable Care Act.
I still think paying $2000.00 to cure a headache is ridiculous and that's about the minimum you pay if you go to the ER. Something wrong with that picture, huh?
Indeed, Angel, there is something wrong with that picture, and it's part of what the Affordable Care Act is intended to remedy. Not an ideal solution, IMO - I'd prefer Medicare Part E for Everybody, but it was the best idea going that still kept the private insurance industry involved (and could thus garner just enough political support to pass).
Hopefully, as more and more of the provisions of the ACA are implemented, you'll be able to obtain coverage for, well, Affordable Care, and not have to go to an ER for a headache. Be well...
As someone who suffers frequent migraines, I can attest to the constant rising costs. Where one of my migraines got so bad it lead to a PVC anxiety attack that raised my blood pressure and heart rate to at-risk levels. Insurance wouldn't cover some of the costs since the closest hospital was "out-of-network", and the ambulance was also "out-of-network", so "out of pocket" was over $6,500.
It's a life-changing moment when your doctor asks you, "Can you afford to die?", and you actually pause to think about it.
The Debra G. tweet reminds me of a Bad Religion song called "Punk Rock Song"
10 million dollars on a losing campaign
20 million starving and writhing in pain
big strong people unwilling to give
small in vision and perspective
one in five kids below the poverty line
one population runnin' out of time
