The Week in Geek will return in full next week after being waylaid by circumstances outside my control (despite my astrophysical powers). In the meantime, enjoy these amazing highlights from a Danish TV show entitled "Dumt & Farligt," which translates to "Stupid & Dangerous" AND AWESOME.

Yay for Dr. Ash!
As an "omics" junkie, I got a kick out of this omic co-opting:

This one has probably been around for a while, but I haven't perused SA in years.
I used to be the curator of omic words in my grad lab. I gave up counting a long time ago, but still enjoy a new ome alert every now and then.
Cheers,
MG
It is unkind to tease dumb animals. As one I speak with authority.
Shall we please, then, just call this a "teaser trailer"? Works much better that way.
I know stuff. I do Really. I do. *winks*
In the meantime just let me say YAY! :)

You see, Dr. Ash, you'd have more "powers" if you used your "astrological" powers, instead of "astrophysical."
After all, we've just seen Jupiter move into Gemini. Neptune is doing a dance in Pisces. Venus took a transit across the Sun. Those last two haven't happened since the 1800s.
We're heading into the Solstice and your name is "Summer," so surely you could have taken a ride in Apollo's chariot and ridden across the sky in preparation for the Longest Day (which falls, not coincidentally, during your upcoming Geek Week? Maybe you will ride, then. After all, he also rules over REASON and medicine, and the arts and trade-crafts are certainly geeky too.)
Excellent point. But I still say "YAY!"
