Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* It's almost certainly an implausible outlier, but the new Bloomberg National Poll shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney by 13 points, 53% to 40%, among likely voters. No one should take this too seriously.
* Knocking down yesterday's ABC News report, Romney told reporters yesterday that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) "is being thoroughly vetted" as part of the VP search process.=
* The Obama campaign unveiled two new ads this morning, including this one on Romney's record of raising "taxes and fees" during his one term as governor. The spot is set to begin airing in nine battleground states.
* A lawyers for the Obama campaign filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission yesterday, arguing that Karl Rove's attack operation, Crossroads GPS, is plainly a "political committee" subject to federal reporting requirements.
* In Arizona, a Project New America/Public Policy Polling survey shows Romney leading Obama by just three points, 49% to 46%.
* The same poll, by the way, shows an even more competitive U.S. Senate race, with Rep. Jeff Flake (R) up by only two over Dr. Richard Carmona (D), 43% to 41%.
* In Florida, the Republicans' U.S. Senate primary appears to be just about over, with former appointed Sen. George LeMieux, quitting the race this morning, and throwing his support to Rep. Connie Mack IV.
* And finally, Herman Cain -- remember him? -- will kick off a "Truth Tour" in early September, right after the Democratic convention.

Or, to give it a more honest name, a "Look At Me!" tour.
Decent advert..
I can't wait for the morning session of the "Lie Tour"; outreach to the insanity-based community because when I think of insane I think church and "Herb" Cain!
What keeps crossing my mind this morning:
"Can they seriously imagine Romney sitting next to Putin at next year's G-20?"
Herman better hope "the Truth" doesn't kick him back!

Normally I would agree with you, but the pollster was Ann Seltzer who has a very, very good track record. She does not do much national polling, however, so I suppose the question is whether her methodology that has proven so accurate in state-level polling translates to a national poll. But it would be unusual for Seltzer to make some major, major polling error.
Republicans' Attention Deficit Disorder
The Republican Rugrats formerly known as The US House of Representatives suffers from a severe case of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Children like these can be treated medically of course, but their lack of attention, rather than being a source of amusement, is likely to further impede President Obama’s highway jobs legislation that American workers desperately need to be enacted now.
Time is of the essence. The Republican adults must step in and stop this grotesque deliberate maleficence of the Rugrats. These adult-children have re-named a score of post-offices. Introduced lots of legislation impacting adult women’s right to determine what is best for their own families. This is done in the name of protecting the unborn. A noble goal, but the reality is this; the legislation represents the unhinged trying to save the unborn to the total detriment of the living.
They want to give the unborn life, but cut food programs, education programs, and medical care to allow for quality of life worth living. Millions of American workers’ and their children are under-nourished because the Republican Rugrats in the house can’t control their debilitating hatred for President Obama. They are willing to punish everyone in every way to quench this hatred burning in their stomachs.
