Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* Last month, a Quinnipiac poll that generated a lot of attention showed Mitt Romney leading President Obama in Florida by six points. Today, a new Quinnipiac poll that will generate less attention shows Obama leading Romney in Florida by four points.
* At the national level, a new Associated Press poll shows Obama ahead by three, 47% to 44%, while Public Policy Polling shows Obama up by four, 49% to 45%.
* In fundraising news, the RNC outraised the DNC in May; the DSCC outraised the NRSC in May; and Priorities USA Action, the pro-Obama super PAC, had its best fundraising month to date in May, but still only brought in $4 million.
* Samuel Wurzelbacher, aka "Joe the Plumber," is a Republican congressional candidate in Ohio. This week, he released a new video claiming gun control led to the Holocaust. He's not kidding.
* In Wisconsin, the latest poll from Marquette Law School shows Obama up by six over Romney, 49% to 43%.
* The same poll shows former Gov. Tommy Thompson (R) in the lead in Wisconsin's open U.S. Senate race.
* In Virginia's U.S. Senate race, Democrat Tim Kaine is prepared to participate in eight broadcast debates. Republican George Allen has not yet committed to any broadcast debates.
* And no matter which side's polls you believe, former Sen. Bob Kerrey's (D) comeback bid in Nebraska remains a difficult, uphill climb.

Those poor R-manians!
D-BAG!! Ohio should be embarrassed but they wont be!
"I love shootin tomaters!"
Gosh but Joe's just a regular guy don't you know. He was never a plumber but he played one for a buck.
How could the republican party embarrass itself? Palin,O'Donnel Bachman, And the like were not an embarrassment to them nor is Rush.Feel no shame, take no blame and call truth lame as you ride boldly ride with El Diablo.
a new cartoon character added to the cast!
Those on the right are devoid of conscience and incapable of shame.
Re: the news out of Wisconsin - looks like the Koch Bros./Rove coalition has been successful in buying/beating into submission their first state.
I am not so sure that the Koch Bros/Rove coalition is as important as the name Tommy Thompson in Wisconsin. He is pretty well known and respected in that state.
More proof that the average voter is uninformed to the point that they will vote for the person/party that they see the most in TV ads, billboards, and lawn signs - regardless if the message is even close to the truth. It really should not come down to how much money was spent when it comes to elections. The American public has to take a little blame for this. As I always said, I dont care if a candidate spends a Billion dollars - I will not vote for them if I do not agree with their politics/policies.
Fair enough, Ron. But if voters in the state don't feel the state's already taken enough of a beating at the hands of the GOP and they're willing to send a Republican to the senate who will vote the party line against everything - name recognition or no - then it makes me wonder, what would it take.
Two words for (not) Joe the (not a) Plumber: Predator Drones.
Herr Obergruppenfuhrer Little Georgie Allen knows he hasn't got the brains to "think on his feet" in a debate, plus he knows "macacca" is going to come back to haunt his white supremacist Southern traitor a$$.
MSNBC viewers amount to about 1/3rd of 1% of Americans at best, and Fox viewers amount to about 1% of Americans, generally speaking. That is reality so we can't count on MSNBC to make any difference in the national dialogue. They aren't miracle workers and the truth is that almost ... no one ... in the country watches any cable news program anytime, for any reason, under any circumstance. We can't count on Cablenews, it barely exists. We need to count on ourselves, and we can't have unrealistic expectations of what if any effect "cablenews" has on the national dialogue. Gobama!
That's so stupid that it shouldn't get the light of day. Therefore, this issue should go right to the top of the Rove idiocy machine.
If this is all we have rattling around in politics right now, at least bring back Bachmann or even Palin. They're usually good for clearing the head.
