Last night, Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey joined Mitt Romney at a fundraiser in Woodbridge, New Jersey. At a town hall in Mahwah today, Christie got asked whether he's a potential pick for vice president. "Mahwah is slow to get to this question, compared to others at the town hall venue," Christie answered as the audience chuckled.
"Listen, I was with Governor Romney last night. Let me announce that he did not ask me last night to run for vice president while I was with him." ...
"If Governor Romney calls and asks me, I'll listen. I don't expect to get the call. I don't expect to be asked. And I'll do whatever I can as I have been since last October when I was the first governor in America to endorse him. I expect to continue to go out and there and work hard for him and try to get him to be elected president. But I don't think that that's going to be with me being as his running mate. I don't know any inside information, that's just my sense. I could wind up being surprised, he could wind up calling and asking me -- but it would be a surprise to me if he called up and asked ..."

Give it up, GOP... he's not going to be the VP pick. So you can just retire the fantasies of getting Romney/Christie in office and then arranging an "accident" for ole Mitt.
Christi's Butt follow him every as well!!
Christie has an abrasive personality and there are many recorded instances of this obnoxious behavior. The only way Christie gets on the ticket is Romney is declining in the polls and he needs a dramatic move to improve his polls. I am standing by my prediction that Romney will pick an obscure southern politician who has creds with the religious right because that is the constituency where Romney's support is soft.
Republicans love abrasive personalities, if Dems and/or the media are the ones getting the abrasions. That's why this is The Story That Won't Go Away.
The hard right likes a combative abrasive personality, but it turns off moderate voters.
I take the train through Woodbridge each night. I thought the town smelled more strongly than usual of swamp-ass, stupid and shame. Thank God it's an express train and we didn't stop.
Is it possible the recent NJ halfway house articles makes Christie politically unpalatable?
What I find interesting is that this time, he's not categorically rejecting the idea.
Of course, having him run for VP would potentially be good for both the country and New Jersey.
Maybe after a few anger management sessions and some quality time with Jenny Craig.
True leaders make tuff decisions. History to judge. many are following the sheep. He is not. Agressive - yes. Needed absolutely
So he's saying that he's not been asked but if he was then he would do it.. and also would like to remind Romney in the same sentence that he was the first Gov to endorse him. *nudge nudge - wink wink* Translation, "Please Please Pick Me!!!!!"
