Ezra Klein's health reform crystal ball shows four ways today's ruling could be complicated
If the Supreme Court takes care of the "repeal" part, will Republicans still "replace?"
Google's new media device will have a lot of features including "made in the U.S.A."
"Fast and Furious" sparks conspiracy theories in Mexico too
Detroit is getting a federal grant to hire firefighters, but the money's not coming fast enough
Shell oil rigs are on their way to drill, baby, drill in Alaska
Britain will not be bending it like Beckham at the Olympics

Could you please talk about this on your show? Or maybe Friday?

Sorry I almost posted it twice.
As has been said, the GOP health plan is basically, I've got mine, Charlie, #$^%^%# you. If you get sick you're responsible. If you don't have the money for care, go somewhere and die. We don't care. After all in the eyes of the people who matter here, the lives of rich people are much more valuable than those of peons. I wonder what the working-class supporters of the oligarchy will do when they realize this.
As far as I'm concerned, the US is headed for one of tree main futures: First, an American version of the French Revolution. Second, an American version of the Russian Revolution. Third, if a fascist America becomes too aggressive, most of the rest of the world will start thinking along the lines of "Cartago est delenda" and act accordingly.
From the Mexican perspective, theories about collusion between the US government and drug cartels isn't wild eyed and looney. Their own governments (federal and local), are often corrupt, there's some history of collusion between the US and drug cartels south of the border, and the guns just keep on coming, because, (as per the Fortune article) gun laws in the US border states are a joke, and prosecutors don't want to prosecute. Mexican conspiracy theories, even if wrong(?) are rational interpretations of the reality that they see and experience. Issa, Rush, and the NRA spokesman,on the other hand, need serious medical attention for their Second Amendment disorders.
What am I reading this morning ? You and SCOTUSblog, of course :-)
Why all the suspense about the supreme court decision? We all know what the ruling is going to be.Five- Four no doubt.
Here's another topic you could (maybe should) cover tonight.
The Texas GOP released their platform manifesto this week. Highlights include the party declaring the following:
- That abstinence-only sex ed is the only way.
- Corporal punishment should be back in schools.
- "We oppose the teaching of higher order thinking skills, critical thinking skills and similar programs...[which] have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority."
That last one is the kicker for me. They're not even hiding it anymore; they want a nation of controllable double-digit IQ plebs that will work for slave-wages and not question their leaders about anything. I'm so done with the Republican party.

Just blame the black Guy everyone does anymore, funny thing is gas prices are going down and you hear nothing from the media that the republicans is blaming the president because the gas prices are going down.
It is official Faux Nooze alt reality .
1. Everything bad is Obama's fault.
2. Everything good is a result of Republicans and Faux complaining and pressuring the president (see #1)
It is their permanent reinforcement loop
Skimming through the Texas GOP Platform:
but
Wouldn't the RealID take care of the voter fraud "problem?"
Rachel Maddow spoke on her program last evening about the comments Rep Senator Brown made referencing "meetings in secret with kings and queens."
She then pointed out that Brown was the ONLY one attending a "debate" hahaha on a local Boston Radio station.
She then spoke with Democartic candidate Warren about these topics
What she did not tell you:
She was trumped by Scott Brown he openly admitted his error on WBZ radio on the Dan Rae program (Boston's largest radio/TV market in the city) stating that he was in error about the afore mentioned reference to kings & queens. AGAIN last night.
She did not tell you that the reason the Boston media consortium debate was agreed upon until Elizabeth Warren notified WBZ Radio on Monday June 25th that she declined the invitation. It was Warren who lopsided the issue backing out at the last minute. The one person debate was not something Brown dreampt up. Warren refused. Why, more on that soon.
Maddow steals Warren's thunder, accidently or on purpose. All the talk on talk radio in Boston is the constant silly precurser Warren uses all too often, "The middle class is getting hammered" "hammered" "Hammered" it's a joke spot on all of talk radio. Maddow used the word first in her introduction of Warren. Sounds like a lot "hammering" going on inside the Warren campaign.
Maddow never asked Ms Warren "Have you ever defrauded the goverment of the United States by applying for a federally funded position, say a professorship at a major college or university (say Havard or Penn) under false pretenses as member of a minority. Say such as an American Indian, more specifically a Cherokee TRibe American Indian?" "Did you just last week, June 27th 2012 refuse to meet with Cherokee Indian activist Twila Barnes who wanted to show you your exact geneology, she being a professor of genelogical studies?" "It is recorded on talk radio WRKO that she has legit proof that you have no, ZERO, Indian blood in your geneology""Were you ever recognized by the Havard University Newspaper as the first woman of color on the professional staff at Havard University?" "Did you ever apply to deny that claim?"Why did you wait until Monday of this week to send your letter of declination to WBZ Radio referencing this night's debate?""
Ms Maddow has a vested interest in this senatorial race. She is a resident of Northhampton, Ma. Warren is HER candidate.
The answers are as follows,
YES Warren falsely identified herself in a formal goverment documented application for employment as a "woman of color" a Cherokee American Indian. She defrauded the goverment.
Yes, under these tenants of hire, Ms Warren decieved her potential employers, Havard University and Penn University stating that she was of American Indian decent thur a viable candidate for Fedreally Funded Affirmative Action Protection Law.
Yes she declined the WBZ Radio debate via email by her campaign handlers on Monday June 26th, 2012. It is she not Scott Brown who created the awkward sitution at WBZ Radio. (Just so ya know, WBZ 1030 radio is comparable to 777 WABC in NY and as stated is sister to WBZ TV an NBC affiliate.
Yes the Havard University Newspaper wrote more than once referencing the wonderful acheivements of the Univeristy's participation in Affirmative Action (remember this was big issue see old student Obama tapes regarding a certain activist professor at Havard unearthed by Buzz feed) and recognizing Ms Warren as a "woman of color".
My questions
Is claming to have "secret meetings with kings and queens" a federal or state local or municipal offense against the law Ms Maddow?
Is fraud against the United States governemt a criminal offense?
How then can you justify NOT asking Warren about these issues? Why not just elect Whitey Bulger Mass Democratic Senator????????????? It's the same thing!
Lastly, Ms Warren is suppoed to ba an advocate for the under privledged, the poor, those in the "middle class". But it is she who took advantage, falsely claiming to one of them who defrauded the gov't. Is that credible for a candidate for Senator of the US????
Maddow did not mention her recent falsehood about MSNBC never being sought after as host of the Brown Warren debates because in fact Tom Brokaw was going to be moderator and MSNBC WAS going to televise it nationally. Scott LeHigh Boston Globe. But she lacks the credibility to come clean with her audience. Ms Maddow has a horse in this race and it is obviously not Scott Brown............ Shame Shame Shame Ms Maddow.
Seems that Maddow producers believes as I do however that this Senatorial race IS bigger than silly "disgusted" issue of Voter Suppression. You know "disgusted" the 5 million people who will get their Constitutional rights revoked because of voter ID laws. She talked about Brown v Warren not 5 million who would be refused their Consttutional right to vote. You lose the argument again
Ms Maddow and "disgusted"...........................
Now, both of You...................... back on the bench and shut up!
I like the Ezra Klein compilation, too bad we're dealing with political hackery in the Judicial (with the public interest in mind, of course...), the "high" court is now doubly as effective as the legislative branch. I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure..

It will be vewwy, vewwy, eentereztink to see how Doctor Maddow responds to the Supreme Court ruling on Healthcare Reform. Maddow says she isn't a Democrat and she certainly fought and fought and fought against President Obama regarding this legislation. She bashed and bashed and bashed the President throughout the whole Healthcare Reform process, along with almost the whole leftie pundit population of corporate Benedict Arnolds like Schultz and Hamscher and Joan Walsh and Katrina Vanden Heuvel. . . Maddow is only a quasi supporter of the President, or anyone else for that matter. Her reaction will be very elucidative. If she offers full throated support, she could perhaps win back ... some ... trust from Democratic faithfull who've relegated her opinings to the corporate pundit gas bag bin. If Maddow again simply bashes the legislation from her Catbird perch in perfect world, she'll reinforce her position as firmly outside the mainstream of any stripe. Doctor Maddow's position on this ruling and this legislation may also relegate herself to a permanent perch in her own perfect and pristine Fringeworld. We'll see. Gobama 2012!
This is more than a little awesome: Politwoops
