Tonight's guests include:
- Nancy Northup, President and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights, representing the Jackson Women’s Health Organization
- James Carville, Democratic strategist and author of “It’s the Middle Class, Stupid!”
Here's senior producer Cory Gnazzo with tonight's stories:

Ask Carville if democratic party strategists are stupid. It sure looks like it. They are running neck in neck against a guy who's openly advocating for a 25% top marginal taxrate. Last I checked the only time that was in effect in the USA was 1925-1932. In other words the dems don't seem to be able to win the economic argument against a guy who's openly advocating for depression inducing fiscal policy and who's whole life and wealth is a living argument against supply side economics...
And a yes or no answer to your question will tell you ??? Instead, how can the democratic party strategists win the economic argument against Romney whose fiscal policy will cause a depression? Lose the snark and if you think Mr. Carville has expertise that would be valuable, ask a question that will utilize that expertise, not drag down the side you supposedly support.
I didn't ask for a yes or no answer. The question is rethorical, because I don't thing the dems are for the middle class. My guess is the dems can't run against Reaganomics effectively because for 4 years they did nothing to change an extreme reactionary fiscal policy, left the job killing taxcuts in place and did nothing against supply side monetary policies handing out free money to banksters under low interest bond buyback program for years, while running out the clock on the statute of limitation for the biggest heist the world has ever seen.
How stupid can people really be about these Republicans? When the whole Republican idea is to take away everything that you have got, unless you are the rich. It simply amazes me on how people will vote for what is basically Republicans for the rich only. Republicans whole goal is to drive everybody else to poverty and barely sustainable wages just so some select few can control everything at the risk of everybody else’s very lives. If you actually think you can trust these Republicans purely selected by the corrupt wealthy, you are in for a big surprise. These Republicans have been bought and have sold out the American people. And the so-called Tea Party that is another big scam just created by the corrupt wealthy to fool people. After working in these companies, I know too well how they shove that load of crap scam down your throat with their lies and in the end you get very little as they work you like a dog. If you are foolish enough to think you will be treated fairly by these corrupt rich people and have a chance to become wealthy yourself, guess again. Who is the bigger fool you or the rich?
Personally, these corrupt people going to hell at their death would really be much too kind for what they are.
Logic and the New Republicans do not go hand in hand. My parents are very Republican and I am anti-idiot. We had a discussion a few years ago about unemployment benefits as my mother was shortly to lose her benefits and she was upset that she wasn't going to have that money anymore as it was all going to those lazy bums who wouldn't get jobs. (And she did not include herself in that lazy bum category; she was desperately trying to get a job. The rest of the people getting benefits were too lazy to get off their behinds and find a job.)
So anyway, I made a comment that with her 30 weeks of benefits (and used UI in the past), she had now used up every penny, and then some, that her employers (combined) had paid in unemployment insurance for her salary. That at 5. something percent for MA and 0.8% for federal of the first $7k of your salary, each employer paid no more than $500 per year for her. At about $200 per week, she was using up a year's payment in 2.5 weeks. When you add in the 5000 people laid off from this company and 2000 people laid off from that company somtimes getting $400 per week, that less than $500 per person per year gets used pretty quickly and the tax payers would have to pick up the tab for the rest. Which was why extending benefits for up to 99 weeks was a tricky balance between keeping people in their homes and off welfare and finding a way to pay for this.
Now, mind you, this is a fact. Directly from the mass.gov website that they only tax 5.4% (something close to this but I'm too lazy right now to look it up) of your first $7k in earnings for each company you work for each year. And the feds tax 0.8% of that same first $7k. Fact.
I was told that I was entitled to my opinion of how much corporations paid per person into the unemployment system. WTF?!?!?!!
We've also had discussions about the ACA. To them, RomneyCare is an unpleasant reality, but the penalty for not having insurance isn't too much, so it's not such a burden. ObamaCare is pure, unadulterated evil, and the Democrats who yes'd that bill into law should be burned at the stake.
At the same time, I have a brother, young, lives at home, earns slightly above minimum wage at his job. He detests RomneyCare and ObamaCare and refused to get insurance from the National Guard because $60 per bi-monthly paycheck was too much money to pay for insurance. So then he had an emergency appendectomy; estimated hospital bill was $10k. He can't afford to pay that, so he either stiffed the hosiptal and doctors or found a relative to pay it for him. Last week he had surgery for a broken leg. I don't know if he has insurance now, but I doubt it. Another several thousand dollar bill he can't pay.
For my parents, people who freeload off the medical system should be denied service. If they can't pay, they shouldn't be allowed the care. But their son, who can't pay, should get medical attention for "free".
This is what it means to be Republican.
Yea,well you know something the Republicans are nuts and full of crap. And don't tell me about medical bills, when I am way too familiar with that load of crap that Republicans would like to shove onto people and medical cost charges are really over inflated as the people behind it are ripping others off. And we do need a lot better healthcare for everyone that is affordable. And on top of it, I would probably be one of those people who cannot afford medical insurance, but have paid any medical bills I may of had.
I am be just felling selfish, but where is Cory’s pre-report ?
I dunno. Maybe Cory was too busy SCORING the hot James Carville booking. Rock on, dude!

Well you know you can’t shut down those pipelines. Big Oil refuses to shutdown anything, regardless of what type of repairs are needed. Have to keep that oil flowing, you know. That is big money to Big Oil. What are a few leaks that kill everything around it and has prolonged effects that literally destroys the environment around you. Just wait for the Keystone pipeline, if you think those repairs that Big Oil says will be done, but never are done. Just tour their Refineries, if you want to see some real degrading equipment like you have never seen before. You would be in for a real surprise. But you know that coat of paint does wonders in comparison to how things really are.
* Abortion is not fun for anyone. If you ask Rachel how she really feels about abortion , she would probably just cry. She does not wish abortions to exist. But banning abortion ?? She will surprise you !! She will jump up and scream at the top of her lungs , “ Hell NO !! “ Ok , it is true, I do not know Rachel personally at all. But I am the proud father a very opinionated female, so I do have an edge.
* My first wife had an abortion . It totally broke her heart. I totally broke my heart. I was her “ man “ , but “ it “ was not mine. I believe men are the reason most women get abortions in the first place. And that is why I believe most women have crappy men. Men ?? Are listening ?
Pleases add of’s as needed
I am so completely PISSED OFF that I almost had to turn you off. NOT for anything you said, but for the segment on Mississippi. That sanctimonious peckerhead that belittled the 'poor little woman'...omigod I can't begin to tell you what I want to do to HIM. How dare these aholes hold a cross in one hand and the flag in the other and tell people how to live their lives...sometimes I wish I could be one of the 'crazies' so I wouldn't be held accountable for my actions...
Rachel could you and your team give us some air time. A group of concerned Citizens in Athens Ohio and the surrounding area are asking that there be a public forum before lands are leased for Fracking in the Wayne National Forest. We are asking that there be an Environmental Impact Study before any public lands are leased. Can you help us give us some air time?Back to the Wayne tomorrow
Wed., July 11,
3-6 p.m.
COME JOIN US for a presence at the Wayne National Forest during their open house. We will start the afternoon with a teach-in and continue to request a public forum. As it stands now, the Wayne will only have "stations" where ODNR, BLM, OEPA and the Wayne describe "management of oil and gas" to individuals and small groups.
Carpooling encouraged from Athens Community Center solar panels at 2:30, 3:30 and 5:00 (please stop by to pick up riders if you're heading out near these times). Bring signs to help find one another.
Bring a sunhat, water, VIDEO camera if you have one, and a kerchief for dipping in ice water. Signs welcome.
We will begin the afternoon with a teach-in while we continue to request a public forum.
In spite of thousands of petition signatures, hundreds of attendees at previous Wayne events, and many dozens of letters, phone calls, and formal visits from citizens to urge the Wayne to do an Environmental Impact study (EIS) with public input––as required by law––the Forest Service appears poised to move ahead without an EIS, claiming an EIS will come after leasing. This is nonsensical and illegal, since the EIS must evaluate whether to lease. Deep shale drilling and horizontal fracturing have not been evaluated by the Wayne for potential impacts on the forest, drinking water supplies, or our local economy. Wayne pr also only mentions being responsible for surface impacts, ignoring its responsibility to protect OUR DRINKING WATER. (see documents at acfan.org)
And if you haven’t, please call Wayne officials today to request a public forum: 740-753-0101. Their open house allows only for one-to-one conversations with officials and no chance for citizens to hear one another or officials' responses to others.

Couldn't find a reference to HB2309...essentially killing the USPS to privatize it. Boehner's house will probably jam it through, but if and when the Senate would get it, then insert an amendment removing Franking priveliges (free mail for congress) of any kind, the bill would die Actually assassinated by the house if it returns there for final apporval. What the hell, why not privatize the whole country...starting with the first time a GOP member becomes president. I think a per-diem pres wold be just right for the GOP. Just call him in to sign stuff when needed, at below minimum wage (they aklready think its too high anyway), The rest of the time he could figure out ways to stuff money into overseas non taxable accounts and advise Ann on how to spend the 75,000 annual deductible allowance that taxpayers cover, on the horse. This is coming up real quick, so keep your eyes and ears open. Go get 'em Mitt, go after those 2% of the vote.....
Yes - would love to hear what Rachel has to say about it. I bet she would love the sections dealing with nonappealability of decisions and judicial review (Sec. 107, page 34 of the pdf file, link below). I only had to get about ten lines into the table of contents and could see what it was about -- more proposed GOP profiteering (with very controlling oversight by a very select committee, with no provision for judicial review of arbitrary decisions). Ugh.

Rachel can you help us shine the national light on this action and reasonable request
The Republicans where they keep trying to repeal this health care law are literally stupid, especially when it is never going to happen. Republicans keep wasting their time on stupid nonsense stuff. Hey you stupid bastard Republicans finally do something like creating jobs, you pack of dummies. How much worthless work can you do without doing your jobs? If anybody else did that at their job, they would be fired. You pack of Republican idiot’s do your job. And they wonder why people hate these politicians; they are nothing but a pack of worthless droids for the rich.
A real democracy depends on us all having an informed voice. Honestly, it is not a big commodity today. Is anyone still thinking ?

Dear Rachels Staff, This is part of a letter I sent to your e mail May 3rd 2011. Please Note My Last Sentence
I have solved the riddle that has perplexed the American public, about the republican civil war. THE LIBERTARIANS ARE THE TEA PARTY. Tea Party leader Rand Paul, son of Libertarian leader Ron Paul, has just been given a pretty pink (green in this case) bow tie and party name makeover. The republican party has been hijacked, (and outwitted) by their own worst nightmare, and the entire country is paying the price. Where did this anti defense spending rhetoric come from this time? The tea party. A calling card of the Green Party, making republicans suffer for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan no doubt. I was involved with the democrat elect campaign, and wondered how the new party got support so quick between the candidate elect and presidential elections, without press. That's easily explained by the libertarian underground network chipping away for years, while failing to get elected.
Now we have anti government funding, anti government spending, anti tax collecting, and anti everything coming from the tea baggies, all libertarian views. If a democrat can be jailed for running as a republican, I believe a green party member should be jailed for running as a republican. Ron Pauls Green Party Of Canada already helped topple the Canadian government, don't let the topple to US Government too.
THANK YOU for highlighting the Nancy Northup. The Center for Reproductive Rights and her fight for the Jackson Women's Health Organization and Dr. Parker are providing a service for the women of Mississippi. When will politicians realize that women CAN think for themselves? No one needs to legislate my uterus. This is a frightening situation that could spread to other states if we don't protect ourselves and speak out. THANK YOU for talking about this on your show.
