In light of the tragic violence in Aurora, President Obama scrapped his campaign schedule in Florida today, but delivered remarks this morning on the incident from Ft. Myers.
Meanwhile, additional information continues to be released. We recently learned, for example, that the apartment belonging to the suspected shooter, 24-year-old James Holmes, had been booby-trapped. The building and immediate area have been evacuated.
Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates told reporters, "What we have is a bunch of bomb techs from a bunch of different agencies," Oates said. "We could be here for hours. We could be here for days… The pictures are pretty disturbing. It looks pretty sophisticated in terms of how it's been booby trapped."
The University of Colorado medical school also confirmed this morning that Holmes was a student there, but he withdrew last month.

When I watched it live on TV, it was totally quiet during the moment of silence, except for a small child and some coughing.
Why is it that as soon as you absolutely must be quiet, you get a tickle?!?!
I didn't mean during the moment of silence, I meant the "Yeah!" every other phrase when you get the obvious gravity of what the man is trying to get out. People have no decorum.
They had probably been planning and looking forward to an exciting memorable event where they could yell and chant and do all of that really fun stuff. How often do you get to actually see your candidate in person!
Add to that how young they looked - at least the ones we could see.
Was it hard or impossible to bottle that up? Oh Yeah!
Did they manage to pull of the moment of silence when it really really counted? Wow Yeah!
So let's cut them some slack.

I saw his comments today. There was some awkward cheering from the crowd. At one point, there was a shout from the crowd followed by more cheering. My experience with these types of events is that the cheering is done to be louder than protesters.

The crowd was there for an upbeat campaign speech, ready to overflow with excitement. No, I didn't really catch the crowd, except "yeah's" and the usual type of crowd "talk back" affirmation. The crowd was not anticipating this focus on the tragedy and became more subdued as the President spoke, reflecting upon the incident and families of those lost. I couldn't detect any protester heckling. The moment of silence was silent, and he was definitely asking for prayers and compassion.
What an evil and sick person; to do this horrific act of violence and murder. I wonder if there is any connection to the movie Batman and the villain, Bain? I wonder if the murderer was a listener to Rush Limbaugh's radio show ? Just think how the world sees the U.S.A. now.
I think that the FBI just may be looking into this? I saw on I believe; CBS News that they have found an E Mail from the murderer--- an E Mail pursuing interest in the Tea Party

This is totally disgusting that our politicians, especially people to the likes of Jeb Bush do not even have the guts to stand up to the NRA and these people that claim they are Christian’s for guns that are really religious extremists of hatred. These politicians have got to be extremely weak-minded people; if they cannot stand up to do the right things for a better society. How many more people have to be put into misery, despair, and death by your weak political mindedness? I cannot stand looking at photos of the suspect when this horrible stuff happens, especially if they are in custody. If they were not in custody, then OK, show us a picture.
I am aware he is not tried or convicted, but that sort of odd smile really bugs me. I know I am not the only one.
we have a new problem. in Louisiana a owner refused services to a US-SOLDIER. the owner looked at him and said don't serve your kind here i have the e-mail but yahoo wont let me send it to you. the wagons are circling. and rt. next door to this gas station is a VFW. the soldier was in his fatigues when he went in this us paid establishment.i would send crews down there in a sec. because the man shooting this video was sounding very southern.i believe all hell gonna happen!
