Christians? I don't think so.
Victory is theirs! They went, they bought and they gained pride in making money for chikfila!
I reckon soon McDonalds will take on another hot button issue like abortion and have their own FOX fan day.
Some move to the beat of a different drummer but these folk move to the beat of hate, hate, hate hate who they tell us to.
Glad though to see them make a stand in such a public and undeniable manner. If there is a God I am sure he was watching.
Let's focus on the real issue. The issue is not the owner's beliefs, it's the govt taking a position on which businesses are welcome based on their belief. People have the right to buy what they want, where they want.
Actually, the REAL issue is that every dollar spent there that results in a profit is used to fund anti-gay groups that are out to destroy Gay Marriage and try to make it like gay people belong back in the closet. Most of these people don't even know what their Bibles really say. It has NOTHING to do with the Government and everything to do with my money and the money of other people who support gay causes spend there going to defeat ourselves. We are paying CF@!$%#s to fight against us
To my point. Don't buy there.
The real issue isn't about free speech or people's right to buy what they want, where they want. None of those rights are being denied. You have the right to say all the stupid crap you want and the right to eat all that nasty crap you want. The real issue is that Dan Cathy is spending millions to deny a certain group of people a basic human right that should be guaranteed to everyone. That is discrimination and oppression and it needs to be abolished now.
You can't legislate morality.
In an open, capitalist society, money matters, every dollar spent at that place means *some* money going to a cause that wants to remove rights from some of the nation's citizens.
It's true, you can't legislate morality, but you can refuse to support it's opposite with your dollars and you should.
Actually, since morality is an opinion, you can legislate it. Roe VS Wade...so suck it.
I guess maybe it's just me, but I can't help but find it ironic that:
"Chick-Fil-A"
sounds pretty French and, you know... (winky wink).
That's better than what I think it sounds like: misogynistic slang for a penis (chick filler). Obviously, I don't really know how the name is meant to be pronounced. Maybe fil-a doesn't rhyme with filla'. It doesn't exist where I live, and I had never heard of it until all this stuff began to happen.
@MeddlingMonk
I believe it is meant to be a play on the word filet.
If the Cathey family really wants to sell some chicken, maybe he should comment that "Hitler built the volkswagen, and built the autobahn" then all the Neo-Nazi Skinheads could order a sandwich and waffle-cuts. Then they could say they are in locked-step with Koch Bros. and The Mormon Bishop, and the bicycles riden by white boys in white shirts could circle his stores. What a marketing plan. Get a list of all the folks that "good Christians" are supposed to hate, and market only to them.
Hmm, are these people supporting chicken or a bigot's stance? Anti-Christian? No, because I know plenty of Christians who do not agree with Mr. Cathy and those who would happily persecute homosexuals. It's the usual Fox arrogance to declare only some people who claim Christianity as the "True Christians". Anti-Chicken? Nope, but I do like Popeye's better (love Rachel's story about "Pope Yes"). I can make a better chicken sandwich than Cathy. Heterophobic? Not at all. You see, I am a heterosexual, though it is more like I'm a "myhusband-a-sexual" since I was just lucky I fell in love with someone of the opposite sex.
What I am "anti" of is I'm anti Christians who thinks only their version is the "right" one and who think that they can buy legislation to persecute minorities. I wonder, if Mr. Cathy said such nonsense about inter-racial marriage, would these people be so supportive? Or how about inter-faith marriages? The bible certainly isn't fond of those either. Like many Christians, Mr. Cathy creates his god in his own image, petty and scared.
Religious supremacism seems to lead inevitably to unusually bad behavior.
By the way, charges of "heterophobia" can come from avowedly gay people too, such as the hard-core follower of Ayn Rand on soc.motss (gay/lesbian Usenet group).
The Bible is very clear on this issue. I believe the Bible IS what God wants for us to believe and live by. That being said, I don't believe it is the governments, or anyone elses job to abuse these people in anyway. I believe it is better left to the churches to instruct anyone on how they should live. They should have all the rights that anyone else has. (I would have rather they recognized "family units" rather than calling them marriages) I also think that churches giving them the idea that their lifestyle is "ok" is doing them a great disservice. They have the right to make informed choices about their lifestyle. They need to know exactly what God says about this issue, then left to make their decision about their "lifestyle" between them and God.
What exactly does God says about this issue? Where in the Bible is this issue stated so clearly?
I'm a follower of Christ and I don't recall reading any reference to sexual preferences nor was I ever taught that. It was all about loving my neighbor which society seems to have loss sight of.
Deb, you seem to be one more Christian who makes up the god they want. The bible says that your god is in control of all governments, that he put them in place completely. No if ands or buts. Your god hates homosexuals, per the bible, ir you go with the OT and Paul. JC doesnt' much care. I'm sure you also ignore other parts of the OT if they are inconvenient. Stone any adulterers lately?
Your god also likes genocide, incest, polygamy, making women second class citizens and oh yes, is to stupid to know when fig trees have figs on them. Christians can't agree on how people "should live" and your god seems not interested in showing us which of the thousands of religions and sects is the "right" one. You are arrogant and ignorant, thinkign that somehow you magically got the "right" one. It's also so silly to watch you think that you somehow know something "important" about a "lifestyle" when you can't even conceive that it might be some thing completely natural.
There is a very mean god out there, and a lot of people worship him. The failing lies (obviously, to me) with the worshipper, not the god. Religion is personal. And we are wrong to tell Deb what her god is about. She knows what her god is about and we do not.
Progessives and Liberals earn no friends when they brush all Christians with the same stroke. Most Americans are Christian. A few are among my friends, and they do not support hate of any kind. (If they did, they wouldn't be friends.)
Oh, no avowed "liberals" or "progressives" are Christians...how about that! (rolls eyes)
I have never ate at this chicken place and i sure won't ever now. Wendy's is now on my shortlist! God made all of us and many do good Christians read from the bible what they want. It also says ye with out sin cast first stone, or do not judge lest ye be judge. Love thy neighbor as thy self. They can not say what the LGBT community feels, They may be more of christian than those who play at being christian.
When we die , we are not man or woman, black or white, LGBT, gay or straight. We return to dust. It is our soul , our deeds here on earth that gets us to heaven or hell. And no matter who we are we all travel a different road and will go to one place or the other. Being Christian dose not mean going to a church. Its with in our hearts and no one can condemn one group or another. This world is a beautiful place and there are many wonderful people .weget caught up in things that make life difficult when it shouldn't be. The hate we have seen this past 4 years is a reflection on a nation and many should hang there heads in shame.
you are awesome............enough said
Wendy's was involved in a sponsorship withdrawal on the Ellen show in 1997, I stopped eating there then, but I know Dave has passed away since and not sure if they still feel so compelled.
But seems many businesses are becoming aware that people will stop buying their stuff and donating if they are "involved" in controversial issues.
I did find this interesting. If you click under Wendy's Co.(Is that not Wendy's under food and beverage industry?), you find they donate to some pretty right wing Republicans.

Sandy...,
I've never been impressed by Wendy's and avoid them on quality grounds. Fortuitous, I guess!
By the way, Mr. False Equivalence, aka RobDon on the "Wednesday's
Mini-Report" thread has been acting just like Guywhozis on the earlier thread. I really do think that Guywhozis is a RobDon sock puppet.
Wendy's never really was on my list of fast food places, but I liked those thick shakes.
Hmm… RobDon and I have gone rounds before. He tries very hard to keep civil, but the arguments are usually lost on me.
I sometimes have to wonder if ignoring is the best, like I read about the One Million Moms against Ellen. It was ignored and they fizzled out because Ellen is very beloved. JCP did themselves a huge favor hiring her.
(The following is me riffing on what Entropy said. It is not a response to Entropy nor is it intended as criticism of Entropy. What he or she or otherwise said is just being used as a starting point for my own thoughts.)
This item from ThinkProgress is worth looking at, for anyone who hasn't. I linked to it yesterday as well, but it's worth linking to again, especially now. It is always amazing, and appalling, how thoroughly the religious right has appropriated Christianity and religion generally as it's own exclusive property; but it's even more astounding how many supposedly progressive people have apparently been taken in by the religious right's posturing and are incapable of thinking of religious subjects except in right-wing terms. Way to help out the other team, boneheads!
At the same time, I have my doubts that all of the intolerant, bigoted vitriol that appears to be coming from the left really is originating from the left. After all, it is the firm conviction of right-wingers that all leftists are God-hating/Christianity-hating/religion-hating @!$%#s. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if some right-wingers tr0ll lefty blogs and post comments reflecting what they believe all lefties think in order to make what they believe is reality appear to be a reality, and that there are some of the less-bright lefties who actually fall for the bait. Of course, every group of people has it's share of @!$%#-heads, so some of the dumb-ass comments probably are genuine.
Right-wing Christians are frequently bigoted sacks of moral sewage. Left-wing Christians often are not. It's wrong to conflate the two, and it is even more wrong to answer hateful bigotry with hateful bigotry of your own. Don't play into their narrative. Be smarter than they are, and be better than they are.
It's well known that right wing talk radio has used actors voicing "scripts" on open mike call-in segments to portray progressives and liberals as conservatives WISH to see them -IE as bone-headed morons, communists, socialists, selfish free-loaders, limousine liberals, inept deciples of radical college professors, or just plain anti-American. Limbaugh and Hannity have both done this. They get away with it because they define their shows as "entertainment" rather than news magazines. It might be possible this is only the tip of the iceberg, -and that similar false-flag activities have been used on larger scales to tilt the public's perception of reality to gain a political advantage.
This link should give an idea of what kind of christians these people are
http://www.lastdays.org.uk/jesus-and-the-pharisees.html
AshlyS--Just to remind you--the Pharisees were NOT Christians--they were Jews. As a matter of fact, Christ was a Jew and would be considered a rabbi.
Re: Pharisees:
Yes, the original Pharisees were Jewish, but I'd say the Pharisaical mentality has been all too common in all sorts of religions.
Sandy...,
I concluded long ago that RobDon is nothing but a big ol' phony, and that the "civility" is an act to enable him to get away with bullpucky such as his continual efforts at false equivalence (which seems to be his specialty).
Ellen Degeneres is a very popular person as an individual, but non-heterosexuals as a whole are not nearly so fortunate as she is. I strongly suspect that she is sort of a "pet homosexual" for many people, so they can congratulate themselves on how "tolerant" they are. That sort of situation is occurring in my own life. There is a group of my partner's former co-workers with whom he socializes. About half of the group are rabid, knuckledragging Obama-haters who will vote for Romney. I know what such people are like and I am sure they would insist that there is no disconnect between supporting Romney and socializing with my partner. That allows them to have my partner as their "pet homosexual" and support a political element that would destroy our lives. My partner is too inclined t "be nice" to people and assume that they will therefore "be nice" to him. Anyone who votes for Romney is not our friend, and in fact is our enemy.
I agree AshleyS, there are people (yes Christians) who are acting just like the Pharisees (Jews) because of their looking at Revelation as the thing that will bring them to Jesus and paradise. I have no doubt those people believe just as strongly that this is correct. That link is something Christians might read and ponder. There exists a self righteousness in many that seems quite apparent to me. I think it warrants more self examination.
EntropyRules, yes Ellen is a much beloved person to many. many, many people and to some she is despised. I found it interesting that a comment was more or less "we will select someone less popular".
Ellen's coming out was very brave and somehow spoke to people that she COULD BE a person they could connect with their own daughter or sister or co-worker. Martina Navratilova came out long before and did not receive much sponsor ads until long after that. Both women were "demonized" and received horrible treatment.
Their "revival from seclusion" came from support by many and they both rose above it. Martina sponsored Subaru (finally) and Ellen went through what appeared to be hell. I saw her come-back comedy show live and it was highly motivating and inspiring.
Where we are now is all our doing, both the militant type (which are good for mustering bravery and outrage) and the more "be nice" types. There seems to be a success in being nice, like MLK was peaceful and demonstrating injustice while Black Panthers were outraged and fought. The coming out was essential to all of this, as most people can see an example of a real person they can/do love. Unfortunately, the outrage of our murdered and maimed Matthew Shepard and Brandon Teena are similar icons as MLK and those poor little girls killed in church bombing.
Outrage at their death and outrage at those mocking their deaths, the horrible Westboro Baptist Church that protested a funeral for a soldier in my area. They were stifled and kept from the cemetery to bury the man in peace. Basically giving no glory of a fight and a camera was worse for them. The Matthew Shepard Angel play/Laramie Project.
Also Civil Rights having Black Panthers was for survival, as there needed to be an element of "we are not going to let you beat and kill us". I've seen many LGBTQ publicizing that they have guns too. The gun issue is one that is an unknown, "they may be armed" keeps some people from attacking. They use intimidation, so others say hey, we're going to protect ourselves. It is still viewed as Panthers were aggressors instead of protectors.
I think there is a higher success rate in "being nice" and knowing that this is the long term goal. Just as being a "token" is somewhat uncomfortable, it leads to more and more acceptance. Jackie Robinson was surely aware of this and I am sure Ellen is as well.
It sure doesn't help to scream at all Christians when there are some that are in your corner. That's why I try being nice and also will protect myself. I was born under the sign of Scorpio. So even if I am not sure about astrology, I do have the proverbial stinger when provoked. And yes, there is provoking happening here left and right.
But I do not think it is good to mock peoples' religion, especially when they might be inclined to support us. There are definitely many Christians and other religious people on our side.
I too, have friends and relatives that support that political party and even people who are LGBTQ not caring about marriage and believe whatever the hell it is they believe is good (lies/habit?) about Republicans (yes I heard religious-but wait they are not more religious than Dems- or are we going to prove they are NOT more religious?)
I ran out of time- edit- Pharisees (who WERE Jews)
Those on the right are inordinately fond of whining, narcissistic self-pity, generally speaking, and the supporters of Chick-fullofit are among the worst.
Ok Fox is saying that if you are pro gay marriage. Not only are you hetero-phobic but are also anti-christen as well.
Fox news has always just made sh*t up. But this takes the cake. I mean seriously. When was it Christian. to treat people differently because they are not like you. When was it Christian. To condemn a whole sect of people. Simply because you disagree with how they live their lives.
The Bible clearly says. Love Thy Neighbor. Before it says anything. About Love thy self. It sure as heck doesn't say anything about. Telling people they can't do this or that. Because they are different than you.
It says Treat others like you want them to treat you. There is another line that says. What you do to the least of my brethren. You do unto me- Jesus said that one. Now if you want to get Old Testament on them. A Traditional Marriage is marrying your brothers wife of he dies and doesn't have children. It's a woman marrying her rapist. It's a man having as many wives as he choices. And as many concubines as he can afford. What it doesn't say is. Rather the concubines are male or female in that regard.
If Fox News and the Religious right. Want to start having a conversation. About the Biblical definition of a "traditional Marriage. I suggest they actually read the Bible first. And not just use the vague parts. That suits their agenda.
Secondly, The US Constitution. Affords every citizen the freedom of religion. What it doesn't afford is. The right of one particular Religious Sect. To impose their religious ideology on the entire nation.
To paraphrase the Constitution. Congress shall make no laws based on Religion or its beliefs upon the nation. It's also why the SCOTUS gave us Separation of Church and State. Which is a two way law. The Government cannot impose a religion on it's citizens. And the Religions of the Nation. Can't impose its ideology upon the nation. Most people on the right. Always over look that part.
So well said.I agree and I think any sane compassionate person would
Actually, if you look at the history of Christianity...prosecution of those who do not follow the same faith is very common place.
I can't help but think of THIS SONG *click click*

There is a difference between what Christians do. And what is in fact a truly Christian thing to do. So when I said when was it Christian to do something. I wasn't referring to the people. But the faith. Most people on the right think that since they go to church and read the bible. They are in fact Christians. And they are not. To be Christian is first and foremost. Treating others with compassion and respect. Not some vague belief that your political views and bigotry is somehow, Gods Will.
Gandhi said it best. I like your Christ. But I do not like your Christians, for they are so in like your Christ.
Your preaching to the choir hun. I went to a born again Christian church every Thursday night and twice on Sundays until I was 21. My father and mother were both raised as Southern Baptists in Mississippi. My mother is now a born again christian and my father is an atheist. I even spent two years going to Catholic school, back when nuns were allowed to beat you and being left handed was a sign of the devil.
The facts prove that a majority of Christians, both now and throughout history, have issues agreeing on "...what is in fact a truly Christian thing to do." Even amongst themselves they don't all agree on what the true doctrine of the gospel means and how they are supposed to live their lives, and it has nothing to do with being on the left or right, it has to do with what they personally choose to believe. Christianity is subjective, otherwise there would be no argument about what is and isn't a Christian thing to do or believe.
I think Fox IS the new Bible. A heck of a lot more people take in the Fox-brand sermons than they do the Good Book.
Which good book? There are SEVERAL "versions" or "translations" to choose from.
The Bible was not written by God. It was written by man to try to explain God. MYTH and Making one's people more important in God's favor than others is the main point of the Old Testament. The OT references to homosexuality do not condem it - read those passages as a whole and how the writer at that time meant them. And we all know what Jesus said about being Gay - NOTHING. He did talk about loving others, helping the poor, and that the rich aren't getting into heaven without an awful lot of work (and compare what you own to what Jesus would probably consider rich). Most Christians should be ashamed of themselves (and I apologize for accidentally liking a post above but I was trying to hit reply and did the arrow instead)

The New Testament is summed up in two sentences. The rest is commentary and a how to manual. The Old Testament is the book of the Jews. The New Testament is the book of Christ. The two sentences that make up the NT are simple and basic. Love each other. Do unto others as they do unto you. Now the second one could be interpretted in different ways. It could be be kind to others as they are kind to you or it could digress into eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth.
So maybe it would be best if one just stuck with the first one. Love each other. Plain simple. If any self righteous person spews their hate and bigotry then they cannot call themselves a Christian let alone a good one.
Jesus did not want to be worshipped he wanted to be emulated. Not much emulation going on here.
@really?5313184 Again, that is YOUR interpretation of the bible. Not all other Christians would agree with you. I even go so far as to say not all Jews would agree with you either.
It is really easy to say "The bible says this!" or "The bible means that you should (fill in the blank).", but it is all subjective to YOUR interpretation of what the words in it mean. That is why it is SO easy and VERY common to see Christians quoting portions of the bible to support their beliefs. As we see in this case of a Religious Chicken Divided, not all Christians agree with the interpretations other people have of what the bible says.
For the record, I prefer the Picture Bible. It's like a big ole' comic book of stories, and much more fun to read. The again maybe I'm just a red neck who prefers books with pictures more then ones without.
The Bible, if written in Chinese, would serve millions, but would serve no good use to the English speaking world. So King James authorized a translation, please remember they were human and everything was subject to interpretation. (Just as Read, red, and similar words have different uses, but sound the same.) It has been my experience in Christian churches, the track record on hetero-marriage fails 50%. They would better spend time in counsel with horny youngsters rushing into marriage, supporting the unwanted children that were not aborted, and taking care of the poor and disadvantaged--instead of spreading hate. If Gays want to be "married" it is between them to set a higher standard for the heteros to live up to. Marriage is for life-- not till you get tired of the same partner.
Um, the bible supports divorce under certain criteria. Just sayin'
Loss of privilege makes insecure people act crazy.
What about the rest of the Christians who are FOR marriage equality?
I don't begrudge or prevent his beliefs, or any of his "defenders" by saying I am not eating there because he donates to organizations that work to block marriage equality. Besides, I've never eaten there.
I would ask these defenders to honestly think this through. Nobody is saying you have to marry someone of the same gender. Cathy was working to make sure all of us should only adhere to his beliefs.
We are using our free speech and now it is some kind of contest to see who has more freedom than whom? Sad.
I have experience with such people going way back, and whether or not they openly acknowledge it, by "freedom of religion" they mean "My religion must dominate!"
Note the proportion of readers who have clicked on "inspiring" as their reaction. At least they offer "crazy," "offensive," and "scary" as options, but it wouldn't allow me to choose all three.
I'm curious about teens & 20-somethings who are so far to the right on social issues. If you can't be inclusive when you're very young, what will you be when you reach 40 or 60? I live in NYC where social attitudes are generally more "flexible", perhaps out of necessity if nothing else. I know that we're not representative of the country, but honestly, these kids are so narrow-minded at such a young age. It's a shame.
What can one expect when they have attended services that promote hate and bigotry and are led to believe that it is sanctioned and condoned by God himself. This self-righteous I am better than everyone else attitude is the very attitude that their religion condems. Too bad. For those of us who are not Christian are we the next target of their hate?
They are forgetting WWJD. Certainly none of what they are claiming they are doing in his name. Hell will be getting a population boom when these folks pass on.
Based on past experience, today's right wing youth will end up as left wing grandparents, just as yesterday's liberal leftists are born again evangelical right-winger boomers...ya might have thought the folks who said never trust anyone over 30 would have gotten a clue, eh?
Why do I keep hearing that everybody over sixty is a right-wing evangelical? It's simply not true.
parkeru, I am also very confused by some of the generalizations that are inaccurate.
Of course there's a but… I do think there is a trending in youth to be more open to differences and there is a lot of panic because the statistics seem to back that up just based on the future trends. http://www.diversitytrends.com/free_diversity_articles/impact_population.html
Amazing these people will go all out to eat a bag of crap just to prove they are bigots. And I've decided that the reason teapubs are so "pro" chicken is that they ARE chickens. You know, they get exemptions and deferments or just plain go and hide in another country so they won't have to wear the uniform to fight for the right that allows them to be a bigot and lie about being a Christian.
This is our company's official response to Dan Cathy:
Dear Mr. Cathy,
As a small business owner, I've learned that you can't build a company alone regardless of clever, smart, or rich you think you are. A little over a month ago, my wife and I launched and ended our food truck business on the same day. There was about 30 minutes of serious soul searching before I uttered the sentence, "We built it once, we'll build it again. It's the only answer." and the response from our community of friends and acquaintances was deafening. Within 48 hours, we had a plan, a small loan from a friend, and the commitment of someone we barely knew, to get us back on top. The result? We're 11 days from launching our new food truck.
I believe you may have forgotten a few things along the way and I'd like to help you become a better person.
First, A community is more than the sum of its parts. Our community rose up to help us when we were busy clinging to our bootstraps and yanking, and we have a responsibility to pay it forward. As business owners, you and I have a responsibility to look at people who purchase from us as more than customers. They're human beings, worth far more than just a bonus payout, and you have a duty to treat them with respect and dignity. I'm sure your sitting back with quite an ostentatious grin on your face while you look at news reports of people showing up in droves to show how much they love that you don't support the gays. When you look today's sales, you should try and calculate how much you would have made if everyone who DID support gay marriage came out to buy a sandwich. I assure you, it would be significantly more.
Which brings me to my next point. A company is more than the sum of its parts. Regardless of the religious shield of ignorance you hide behind, you do not speak for your employees. Right this very second, you have gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered employees who have chosen to devote their time to raising your profit margins. How dare you make them feel less than human. How dare you spit on the very people who make up your company? You may have forgotten the most important thing of all...
Do unto others as you would have them do to you
I'm an Atheist, but I spent many years as a Catholic before I took the Red Pill and decided to spend my life helping to make this world better than it was when I arrived, so I can talk the talk you like so much. I could bring up facts about the bible not saying anything about it, or the other ludicrous things in the bible such as not getting tattoos, or eating shellfish, but I don't think you'd do very well. I stumbled across your family's website, Cathyfamily.com, and I was left with the impression that you feel your family's legacy and values should be something to be admired.
You are mistaken sir.
The hate and fear that your words have contributed to are disgusting. If Jesus were real, do you really think that he would approve of you acting like an intolerant douchebag?
To the countless gay employees of Chick-Fil-A, who had to listen to hours of hatred today, do you really think that's responsible?
After looking over some facts about what your family has been doing:
Chick-fil-A in regards to LGBT issues:
(courtesy of Thinkprogress.org)
It appears to me that the Cathy Family is devoted to nothing more than perpetuating hate. You should be ashamed of yourself. I know you can never be fired, so the only thing I can do is share with you what I've learned by your mistakes.
I've read your family's values, now allow me to share with you some of our values:
Our company understands that we have a responsibility to the community to help contribute love, peace, and acceptance. Not ignorance and hatred.
We pledge to pay every employee a real living wage, regardless of the amount of the national minimum wage.
Customers are more than marketing tag lines and dollar signs and all customers will be treated with respect, and dignity, and compassion. (this is the "do unto others" part of the equation)
We will treat all employees as an extension of our family because that's what they are. Since our employees are investing in us, we absolutely invest in them and help them grow.
We have an obligation to help our community grow and thrive through charitable acts and donations, even when there isn't a photo op.
I know we're just starting out, and we are but 1 truck, but soon we will grow into 2 trucks.. And then a physical location, and then 2, and so on and so on. I'm certain we're going to be successful. If Chick-Fil-A can have 1000 locations, with your kind of values, imagine what 1000 Friar Tuck's locations will do with ours. We can't fail !
Onward and Upward,
Friar Tuck's
Robb, Thank you ever so much, very thoughtful and well put. If you ever make it into the very western tip of North Carolina, I will patronize. I just googled you and learned about the accident - so sorry to hear and I hope everyone is doing well. From what I read in your company letter, you are actually more christian (yes - small c) than a large portion of the (yes, large c) Christians. Christianity is supposed to be a way of life - I learned this during a conversation with an old high school classmate - NOT a religion. In any case I wish you and yours well and am praying (don't take it the wrong way) for your success.
Well said, Robb! I don't know where your truck is, but if you ever have one in Maryland, I'm there :)
Very well said Robb! If you ever have a food truck in mid-Michigan I will be there! Thank you for the kind words.
Curt: Thank you very much :) I appreciate the prayers and kind words.
Trebleclef: Check out our site. We actually bought our first food truck in Maryland http://friartucks.me/
Thank you, Robb. I send love, prosperity and happy days to you and your family. You expressed my views beautifully. If I ruled the world, we would all think as you do. My wish is that your clear message will be a catalyst for change. What a wonderful world this would be!!
Jackie
I am totally up for a Friar Tuck's Appreciation Day!
U MAD, RACH?? DEFEAT DOESN'T TASTE LIKE CHICKEN! {{^_^}}

No it tastes like CROW
If you love someone of the same sex, you can't get married, can't raise children within the security of a bonded union, can't have the same legal benefits as spouses.
If you love someone of the opposite sex, you can get married, plus you can parade your god-given (inborn) preferences in front of the above group, waving a victory chicken leg and claiming religious prosecution.
Did I get this right?
Yes... you know the old adage ... "How dare you hate me, because I hate you !"
you can't hate me because I hated you first! :p

Can't we just not and say we didn't?
It is amazing what you can get people to do when you lock them in a bus and give them free "food."
How is eating CHICKEN Pro-CHICKEN?
The logic is very strange, isn't it?
Agree. It's anti-chicken to the chicken.
Does this mean Chickens are the new Easter Bunny?
Unless we eat people, too, we're just picking on the chickens.
Has anyone told them not to get their feathers ruffled yet?
I'd just like to ask if any of these nit-wits has been put in a coma for being hetero? No? Well I have for being gay.
[Hugs]
I deleted several friends off my FB friends list yesterday. I figured they fell into one of two categories (neither of witch I want as friends). They are either to lazy or stupid to know that it was not free speech they were standing up for by supporting Chick-fil-a, OR they actually support and accept being judgmental, hate filled people. Sadly, I can't bring myself to delete my sister and mother, who both supported chick-fil-a. It's true, you can pick your friends, but your stick with your family.
How do you fight stupid crazy hate?
OH and I found this the last night too...so yay for some at least one chick-fil-a!
http://nashua.patch.com/articles/nashua-chick-fil-a-to-sponsor-nh-pride-fest
Deleted 20 people of me list also. My categories for selection were "You're either part of the problem or part of the solution. " However I didn't limit to non-family members, because two of them went also ! Each with a note saying "Differences I can Celebrate, Indifference I WILL NOT !!!!"
How do you fight stupid crazy hate?
Do like I do... Laugh at them...Poke fun at them... Evil hates being laughed at...
"Fascism will come to America waving a flag, carrying a cross, and eating chicken sandwiches..." With apologies to Sinclair Lewis...
@Danielofmo I can't bring myself to UN-friend family for one reason and one reason only. I really don't feel like hearing them B*tch at me the next time I see them, for doing it. Maybe I am a coward, because I want to avoid having to choose between hitting them or walking out on them and never speaking to them again....but the older I get the less I care, so maybe some day I just may do both.
@HighValor Easier said then done, especially when they are family. I guess it's my fault for having anger issues brought on by stupid crazy hate. I guess it's my Kryptonite.
I was reading a news report about the Chick-fil-a appreciation day, and it kept repeating that there were no signs of protesters at the restaurants that day. Am I the only one who thinks only stupid people would wonder why no one wanted to show up to protest against people who have a history of being violent towards people who disagree with them?
Well, I am a Christian for gay rights, I am heterosexual and I like eating chicken. I even go to Chick-fil-a from time to time because if I start looking into everything every company pays money to based on their beliefs, I will just have to hide under a rock. This is a civil rights issue and eventually everyone will get it. The Bible speaks about a lot of things being "unatural" or "abomination". I sure don't remember Jesus saying anything about it.
Making Chik-fil-A - aka Southern-Fried Heart Attack on a Bun - Official Wingnut Food is actually a liberal plot to decimate the ranks of whackos by letting them suffer the results of their poor dietary choices through the denial of health care for their obesity. Soon they will all be "good Republicans," busy pushing up daisies and thereby beautifying the planet, the only positive act they will have done in their lives. And they'll also get to discover that St. Peter doesn't consider them "Christians."
Conservatism then, must be like McDonald's. They're deliberately killing you with empty baseless carb-filled "facts" and heart-clogging fat-laden ideology but you keep swallowing it because it makes you feel good.
I believe in the separation of church and chicken
What about Church's Chicken? LOL

So stealing this.
@ Wonkyone15:
Also, it's "all-white" for extra inclusiveness!
There's a bumper sticker in that!
Am I to understand that FOX news allows no Gays to work at their station???? If they are so against gays they just simply cannot allow them in their employ. I find it very hard to believe that a place with as many employees has not one gay person.
Also I guess any person who is gay would not possibly be allowed to work for chikafila or Mac donalds. It is hard to fathom that companies with all those in their employ have no gays.
Fox News does hire gay people. It's just as long as the gay people. Do not say that, they are openly a Democrat. They can stay!
I imagine the halls of Fox are filled with closets...
This just in, Fox News airs a quote from it's CEO when asked if they hire gay people.
"There are no gays at Fox News right now!"
UPDATE: Fox News caught editing quote to hide gay shame.
The original quote said, "There are no gays at Fox News right now! We are closed right now and the building is empty!"
Do people of this ilk imagine what their grandparents, mom and dad, and straight friends do in bed? Or do they just obsess about gay people's private lives?
Bizarre.
Hey-look at all the white people!
Someone needs to remind them that Christ taught to love everyone and not judge.
well Jesus Christ also supposedly said (if he said anything) that those who don't accept him as "prince" should be brought before him and killed by those who do accept him (Luke 19). So, if you want to go strictly literal, yep, JC said follow his father commandments, *all* of them. So Cathy can be considered correct. Problem is, Christians can't quite agree on what this god has said. All claiming Christianity, and all having no better claim than the next, liberal Christians or fundies. It'd be nice if this god would have another altar contest and see who gets their altar to light up.
There is no mention of homosexuality in the commandments. Cathy is incorrect, though, about the Bible teaching that relationships should be between one man and one woman. The Bible had men sleeping with their maids, fathers offering their daughters up for rape and daughters sleeping with their Father.
Really, those kids don't have any reason to judge as many are mixing their fibers, have round haircuts and, I'm sure, have tattoos!
It is a pick and choose Bible. This is for the people on the bus and Fox News:
Who quote scriptures for someone else's wrong doings but wont look at their own worng doings.
They've been reminded.
But then Fox and Limbaugh and Beck and Coulter and Dobson and Rove/Cheney/Boehner/Newt/Palin, etc also remindes them they should be scared of anyone who doesn't look/believe/vote/talk/dress, etc like they do.
