DebraMLT you have the right to the beliefs you have but please stop saying gays have chosen their "life style." My son is gay and he did not choose that. It is a product of the mixing of the genes from his father and I. After doing extensive family history research I can find the other gay men in both our families. It is not a life style but a fact of birth just as you did not choose to be a female heterosexual. No matter what you say it is not a disease that can be cured.
I wonder how many kids on that bus are gay?
There is probably a good chance that at least one of them is the Roy Cohn sort of homosexual (probably shouldn't dignify him with the term "gay").
I feel so left out. I haven't gone to Chick-fil-a in a long time because it's salty, deep-fried, fatty, crappy food.
I can't help but look at these "Christians" happily smiling, and waving their bags of fast food and wondering "Is that all they have to rejoice in?"
Shows where their priorities are.
"If you spend your money there then you will in fact be contributing to someone who is not leaving the policy to the politicians, who will absolutely be in the policy game because they are going to be contributing your dollars spent to policies that will keep people from having equal civil rights, period. So now you have to make your choice as a consumer." - Melissa Harris-Perry
. . . Wait. This news post isn't satire? Really Fox News? Really?
"Just because someone is gay does not give them the right to boycott a business." -- My favorite comment ever from one of the Chick-fil-a supporters, a woman named Linda Hiner Evans on facebook. https://www.facebook.com/Linda.Hiner.Evans
That really is the mentality of such people.
So some GOP goon summons the Christian masses, and like sheep, all the narrow-minded bigots came...sad and pathetic to be so easily led. I am embarrassed for them, for they know not the meaning of equality, tolerance and acceptance. Hope they all continue to clog their arteries on all that deep fried crap...I guess it was no coincidence that I saw a LOT of fat people lined up yesterday.
"Anti-Chicken"?
I don't mind someone speaking their mind at all. The owner of the oddly named restaurant that I've never been to can speak his mind on whatever issue he wants. However, I don't have to agree with him and I don't have to patronize his business. All that is just fine, but "anti-chicken"?
Now I'm really insulted.
the saying "you are what you eat" has been proven true on the first ever Heterosupremacist Pride Day. All those gay bashing tyrannical theocRATs who shoved Chick-Fil-A dead fried chickens down their gay bashing throats and washed them down with their Jesus Freak Koolaid are a bunch of DEAD FRIED CHICKENS
Look at all the happy clean-cut youth. Impossible if they were Lefties.
How is not wanting to change the definition of marriage hate? Or persecution? I'm a Jew, and we know persecution. And this ain't it folks. Sorry. This is a difference of opinion. An opinion voiced in an interview with a Baptist organization. He didn't post "FAGS NOT WELCOME" signs behind his counters. And as far as folks who think all corporations are greedy, horrible monoliths, they are closed on Sundays (sacrificing millions of dollars) so they and their employees can honor their Sabbath. They don't force them to go to church, just stand by their principles and make that option available.
Wow! Talk about clueless! For one thing, the definition of marriage has never been set in stone. Were all of those ancient Isrealite males restricted to one wife?
First of all, it is obvious that what you define marriage as and what others define marriage as are two different things. So let's break it down for you. There is the "Traditional" concept of marriage between a man and woman, and the non religious definition of marriage, two people who choose to enter into a union/contract/partnership together.
BUT THAT is not really what this is about...this isn't about Cathy's right to say what he thinks either. He has that right. No one is arguing that he doesn't have the right to say what he thinks. NO ONE (in their right mind) is arguing that he doesn't have the right to freedom of speech.
What is wrong, and what has many very upset, is that people are supporting a company who uses their money to FUND and support hate groups that spread lies and encourage hate towards gay people. They use and encourage hate speech, think they can "FIX" gays by putting them in "pray them straight" programs, they want to "export gay people out of the country", AND they lobby against the rights of gay people.
Cathy even admitted (when he was still in charge in an interview in Forbes magazine) that "he would probably fire someone who "has been sinful or done something harmful to their family members.", and they have at least one discrimination law suit against it pending. A woman who claims they fired her because they thought she should be at home taking care of her kids.
He has the right to say what he thinks, but when you know what he said and what they company is saying, IS NOT the only thing the company really stands for, that it actually makes an active effort to spend it's income to force it's beliefs onto others and spread hate, that upset some people....and rightly so.
If they were spending the income for the promotion of churches or schools or youth groups or other "Godly" things, none of this would be going on.
And for another, until recently a wife was essentially the property of her husband, and had no legal existence apart from her husband. The legal principle was called coverture, and it was so bound up in the Western conception of marriage that in the 19th century advocates of women's rights frequently assumed that marriage had to be abolished in order for women to attain equal rights.
As it turned out, coverture was chipped away bit by bit over the course of the 20th century, and the institution of marriage remained. A very changed institution, certainly, but we still have a thing called marriage, and most people are unaware of the dramatic changes it has gone through, even in living memory. Clueless, indeed.
Purpose of mariage is to have children. Period. Society depends on it. That's why the governement sanctions man/woman marriage. No family, no society.
Wrong answer HuhTroll, but thanks for playing!
So...if we all believed that nonsense you just spouted (aside from being wrong and crazy and bad spellers)...that would mean...
"Purpose of mariage is to have children. Period."
.....couples who can't have kids are not married?
"Society depends on it."
.....the downfall of society is divorce and the economy is bad because of infidelity?
"That's why the governement sanctions man/woman marriage."
The government sanctions same sex marriages too-but I know how facts confuse your kind so we will just skip that one.
"No family, no society."
....orphans are not a part of society...poor orphans...why you gonna hate on the orphans!?!
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/hokum
As Sheldon on the Big Bang would say.
So, why then did my uncle remarry after his much beloved wife died to a woman that was "past the age of bearing children"?
Look around and see the world is and always has had exceptions and those exceptions are never going to bring and end to having children, or anyone else's marriages. Trying to keep away the gay is wrapped up in hokum.
Back to ignore huh?, but now I see that's why NV tells me more messages are on this thread.
To a much earlier post - "most Americans are Christians"...really? Are you sure about that? More accurately, many Americans say they are Christians. Not the same thing. Also, hetero or homosexuality is not a lifestyle choice. We are born with whichever preference. When people say it's a choice, what they mean is, homosexuals choose to act on their feelings. And these same people don't like it that lesbians and gays wish to live an authenic life, just as straight people do.

What hate groups? Everybody talks about hate groups, but nobody mentions them. Who are they? And Juan Williams was fired from NPR for appearing on Fox and speaking truthfully. So let's not get all high and mighty about wrongful termination.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-badash/chick-fil-a-5-reasons-it-isnt-what-you-think_b_1725237.html
There are two links to start you out, now the rest is up to you. Educate yourself or accept the fact that you choose to remain ignorant of the facts.
And by the way, up until a few weeks back our beloved flip-flopping politician-in-chief held the same position as Chik-fil-a and nobody seemed to get rankled
He didn't own a company that paid thousands of dollars to promote hate.
No he was a regsitered member of a socialist third party, hung out with convicted felons, and attended a church that promoted hate. But he's only president, not something that affects the world like CEO of a chicken restaurant.
Maybe in the Fox coated candy-land you live in those are called facts...but around here we call those fictitious Foxificated lies.
He never had the same beliefs as the FORMER CEO of Chick-fil-a, hence the lack of giving large sums of money to hate groups.
Was actually registered. FACT. Jackass
And if anything is a candy land it's an America where hard working people earn money are called evil
If it is a fact, please link to the source of this factual information. I'll wait while you look....but when you can't find proof don't cry to me.
Again, he is not being called evil for being a hard working person who makes money....that is one of those delusions of yours.

Of course, it's not as important to the future of the country as the fact that Mitt Romney's wife owns 1/3 of an Olympic horse. I mean, if it was, certainly there would be as much mainstream news coverage of it
http://www.examiner.com/article/barack-obama-a-former-new-party-socialist-how-does-this-affect-you
As for your first link, the first line of the article is, "On the evening of January 11, 1996, while Mitt Romney was in the final years of his run as the head of Bain Capital..." So the article starts with a PROVEN LIE.
I went on to do a search for myself that helped me to find a quote from the New Party founder Joel Rogers. He "said Obama wasn't a member, and that the party didn't exactly have "members": There was no internal voting structure, and no way to register as a member of the party in Illinois."
Sooo...your full of crap.
As for your second link, it starts with a lie as well, so we have a problem.
You keep giving me links to things that are easily proven to be lies. That makes it hard to believe anything you say or anything you link me to.
So...do you work for Romney? He tells lies that are easily debunked as well.
I feel that the owner of Chick-A-Fil is entitled to his opinion, and he has the right to open those smelly chicken shacks any place he wants, but if he insists on hitting us over the head with his anti gay propaganda, he must be prepared to accept the consequences. He is a hypocrite....that green gay money is OK with him, but know people, he will probably use that money to erode what rights the gay/lesbians have gained. When all the fuss goes away we will see if the people like myself, who support gay rights will just pass that Christian Chicken Store and set a good example for their children by buying elsewhere. It can't be just boycotted by gays and lesbians. That would not be enough to hurt his business. The rest of us who are offended by this bigot, hiding behind his religion, must stop patronizing his Chic-A-Fil business. The Colonel at KFC might have his secret recipe, but we will never know if he has weird beliefs because he respects all his customers. and he makes great chicken. Chick-a-Fil should change their name to "Chicken for Christians" so that we will all know what this guy is about. Of course, I will not be part of the boycott as I never have and never will eat at that restaurant. The smelly oil they use seems never to be changed. Eat at your own peril...in more ways then one.
Actually, the Colonel has come back from the grave to chime in on this subject...Warning, turn your volume down or it might blow out your ear drums.

Do you think Rachel Madcow likes to lick chicken?
Those Fox blog monitors are nothing but a BUNCH OF CHICKENS. I don't remember ever being able to get a single comment posted there. It's not like I've been obnoxious or childish like I am here occasionally. So what's the deal??
Here chick...chick...chick...chick...
Maybe one has to dress oneself to resemble a chicken for Fox "free speech".
Just a short biblical note.
"Be fruitful and multiply..." Genesis 1:28
That was a command to Adam and the FIRST woman (the one before Eve). Assuming it still applied to Adam after Eve was created from Adam's rib, that would mean that God's very first command to humankind's originators was to sin!!
Eve was Adam's sister. "And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man." Genesis 2:23
This meant that, except for an X chromosome in Eve, they were nearly identical twins or clones. These twins were ordered to multiply, that is, commit incest!
Even more, in order for them to multiply, Adam (at least Adam) would have had to see Eve lustfully. This was BEFORE eating of the tree of knowledge. God was therefore ordering humankind to be lustful to multiply!
Even more, the children of Adam and Eve were still following God's command to multiply when brothers and sisters lustfully carried out that command.
If one were therefore to take the Bible as the literal word of God, then God literally commanded the first humans to commit incest as they acted lustfully!!
=/ eww. That would suggest mankind wrote some seriously twisted erotica under the guise of biblical text - not that they were very good at it.
Um...you just explained the stereotype of a red-neck. Incest is ok but Homosexuality isn't.
The Land Of The Free ?? But just not everyone. You can have Romney back, we ejected him from the UK
Go ahead, ignorant bigots, clog those arteries! I'll just eat more kale:

Best laugh of the day! Thank you so much for that!
Hahahahaaaaaa! Maybe that should have been the only response and end of the silliness. Thanks, great job ladies!
