The segment on waste water from fracking causing earthquakes reminded me of this book: Strong Motion by Jonathan Franzen. He discusses nearly this exact idea, but published in 1992. The science behind it is based on his own experience working in the Harvard geology lab. It's a funny, nerdy coinkidink.
