Tonight's guests:
- EJ Dionne, Washington Post columnist and MSNBC contributor, Brookings Institution senior fellow and author of "Our Divided Political Heart."
- Tom Tarantino, Iraq war veteran and chief policy officer for the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA)
And here's executive producer Bill Wolff with today's preview video, but first, fire up the copyright-is-not-our-problem soundtrack:

Ok, I'm cheating a little because I know a little more detail about what the segments are about. But I did not attend the graphics meeting, so on that we're on a level field. Let's see how I do on RP ideas:
A block - Last night I was trying to work out some kind of "heads they win, tails you lose" phrasing for the Ohio voting thing but I couldn't quite make it fit. Maybe something that mixes Buckeye and black eye? Ballot boxed out?
B block - Bill wasn't too specific but this is about a Romney message shift. The easy route suggests something in the flip flop range, but I'm going to go with a less clever "Course correction".
C block - this doesn't count. Usually the C block is a short item that teases ahead to a later segment.
D block - Bill said it's a Senate report on for-profit schools and whether they're worth it. Wild guess: they're not. Teachers fret? Something that uses "degree"? How about Big Scam On Campus?
E block - All Bill said about this was that it's a good organization doing bad or something like that? I think we can take a pass on guessing at this one.
F block - We didn't really get a clue on this one at all either, so free pass here.
what the @!$%# does this story have to do with Ron Paul?
Who decides what comments get deleted?
go back and watch that "hardball" interview with Newt.... I'm not alone in feeling that his show should be called "pillow fight" after that ....I guarantee...............RIDICULOUS
In the case of the above, I do. I'm ok with your closing word here. Less cool with the name you called him the first time.
Ok Will, I get what you are getting at... sorry for my over emotional post, now....how do you feel about Chris letting Ginghrich pretty much control the interview, and never putting him up against the wall? Also, what are the rules, cause I'm confused how swears are ok but the p-word isnt? Is it because Matthews is an NBC employee? Either way, very disappointed in that segment, and wanted my fellow TRMS followers to be able to chime in, maybe letting the higher-ups know that we want actual hard hitting questions posed to politicians, reguardless of their affiliation.Again, appologies, but "let's play hardball"!
This is easy.... much more attention should be paid to the OHIO voting situation.... Rachel, EJ Dionne, Washington Post columnist and MSNBC contributor, and your staff and producer must know some people in high (journalist) positions. All they need to do is run a story in papers across the US switching Republicans and Democrats in that story and see the outrage happen when Republican think THEIR voting rights are being taken away and are esp. being minimized as compared to Democrats.... problem solved. Not that that would prove at best hypocrisy, and at worst out right voter fraud....
I hope this gets to Rachel Maddow...I saw your show on For Profit Colleges and I just graduated from one. I was offered Vocational Rehab to pay for my tuition with the Government. Not mentioned on your show is the extreme cost of books and supplies! This consists of only being able to get both at follett book stores that charge an outragious amount over and above any one else. This is a huge winfall for the follet company that has the only contract for books and supplies!
Thought you might like to check this angle out too!

Hi Rachel, love your show- quite a change from David Gregory,Brian Williams, Andrea Mitchell, and the other right wing corporate clowns that make up 90% of the media'
I am a huge Rachel Maddow fan and a retired Army Education Officer. I have to issue with Tom Tarantino's comments about when he was a young officer and visited the Education Office and was counseled by a for profit college advisor. At their first duty location every servicemember is required to visit the Education Office. They are given detailed information on their education options by a highly qualified education counselor. There are counselors from Colleges and Universities located in Education Centers, but the Education Center employed counselors are impartial although they do encourage students to choose regionally accredited colleges and universities. Once servicemembers separate from the Armed Forces they are on their own and that is where the problem lies.
