As a rule, when your opponents seem really happy about your choice in running mates, it's fair to say you've made a provocative choice.
And this morning, Democrats are practically giddy, unable to believe their good fortune.
Three different sources close to the Romney campaign indicate to NBC News that Mitt Romney will announce House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential running mate at tomorrow's campaign event in Norfolk, VA.
The announcement will be in front of the U.S.S. Wisconsin -- which just happens to be Ryan's home state.
With recent national polls showing Romney trailing President Barack Obama, Ryan is a bold pick.
"Bold" is certainly one way to look at it.
Readers may recall that I tend to think running-mate choices fall into one of three categories: Augusts, Novembers, and Januaries. If a nominee picks a January, he or she is looking for someone who can help govern once inaugurated. If he or she picks a November, the nominee is picking a running mate intended to help win the general election. And if the candidate picks an August, he or she is trying to bring a party together and satisfy intra-party demands.
Paul Ryan is an August. Romney, who never quite made the transition from the primaries to the general election, has been subjected to heavy pressure from conservatives to choose the right-wing House member, and it appears the lobbying campaign was successful. The Republican nominee still feels the need to satisfy the demands of his base, and Romney isn't in a strong enough position to disappoint them.
As a result, both the left and right have the Republican running mate they hoped for -- Romney has picked the architect of a radical, Medicare-crushing budget plan, debated by the least popular Congress since the dawn of modern polling. Indeed, it's fair to say the radical Ryan budget helped make this Congress so widely disliked, which makes his VP nomination that much more remarkable.
For months, Democrats have been trying to inject the "Romney-Ryan plan" into the political bloodstream, and now, the Republicans' presidential candidate has made Dems' job easier. The Obama campaign hoped to make Ryan Romney's effective running mate, never expecting the GOP candidate to make this literal.
The result is a dynamic that was hard to predict. Romney isn't even trying to reach out to moderate voters; he's taking the most far-right candidacy in modern American history and turning it to 11.
Postscript: Just as an aside, this will be the first Republican ticket in American history not to have a Protestant. Romney's a Mormon and Ryan is Roman Catholic.

Rep. Ryan has recently declared that "We get our Rights from God, and Nature". I live in a cabin up here in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Last year Fish and Wildlife had to come out and trap one of the local bears that was causing problems (messing with it's RIGHTS). And once in awhile, I find a "leftover" near the cabin left by a resident mountain lion - fawn forelegs - leftovers ... so, I don't quite see the real connection here with "Nature" that Rep. Ryan is talking about. Looks more like, Might Makes Right, from my cabin door.
"Rights from God" - sure. Sounds good. But how are those rights to be protected? My 30-30? No. Our Government. That's part of our governments job, yo.
I think another part of this ticket's strategy is to get women to forget about their trifling little "issues" by making them swoon under the onslaught of two such impressive jaw lines.
Heck, just seeing these guys together makes me want to buy dress shirts.
Remember the Stepford Wives? Are these two the Stepford Politicians?
(I've already used up my week's quota of cheap shots about candidate wives with what I said about the current Mrs. Gingrich last night, so I have no reply for that.)
"when your opponents seem really happy about your choice in running mates,"
Obama was hoping they would play it safe. Obama was scared before but with Ryan, now he's petrified. The main reason is the "stature of a man"; Ryan's word is golden and doesn't deflect blame. Ryan is the epitome of integrity and everybody knows it.
Obama will try to destroy with words, Ryan will win with truth. The fix is in, sign-up or stay at home.
ROTFLMAO!!
Obama isn't petrified and neither are we but YOU MUST be!!! Else why would you be over here trolling?
I think the Republican Party AGAIN did the greatest thing it could do for the Democrats just like it did in 2008!!
You may be LOUD and OBNOXIOUS but you really DON'T have the votes and your trying to "pretend" that there are so MANY of you out there doesn't change a thing on election day!!
In Ryan you have an articulate, knowledgeable speaker, who can effectively attack Obama and make Biden look like the fool that he is. I'm thinking Ryan/Rubio in 2020!
Are you @!$%#ing kidding me, Phillip!? Obama is afraid of Paul Ryan in the same way Br'er Rabbit is afraid of being thrown into the brier patch! How clueless can you be? Picking Ryan will excite the Republican base, certainly, but in the real world he's toxic. Clearly, Romney has given up on trying to broaden his appeal and is concentrating on turning out the base. Picking Ryan is an admission of failure and weakness.
Liberals/dems are only giddy in the sense that the rot in their minds has progressed to the extent that they giggle about anything, including their impending doom. The race baiting incompetent divisive Obama and the band of liars around him know this is the beginning of the end for him.
Oh brother, what a disingenuous joke this article is. Who would Romney have nominated that would cause the Democrats to say, "oh no, we're all going to die."
But, by all means, if the Democrats really think that ripping a guy who's all about the economy, gov't spending, debt and deficits.....yeah I really believe the Democrats want to talk about that narative every day.
Good luck with that.
Did Fox do another "call-out" to have every one of its posters troll Rachel today? Where ARE all all of the trolls coming from? Makes me wonder how many different new gmail or yahoo accounts each of them have since they all say the same thing over and over and over........
I can only assume that the Republicans are SO AFRAID that they've made a bad choice with the RR ticket that they feel they need to come to moderate and liberal blogs to attempt to "bully" their way to a win!!
Doesn't really matter though! I know the Repubotrolls are LOUD and OBNOXIOUS but they really don't have the votes no matter how much they "pretend" to have SOO MANY people supporting them, so troll all you want, it won't matter a whit on election day!!
Good question once .. there must've been a "rally the righteous Romney/Ryan troops so the liberals don't see how fu cking scared we are!" call out. Maybe Ann Coulter's soul finally capsized with all the hate and poison and this is how the reichwing think angels are made? Either way, it's effing funny!!
Realclearpolitics posts writings representing both sides of the political spectrum. The "trolls" you refer to are people who actually read something outside of an echo chamber (you should try it sometime).
You should bear in mind that while RCP posts the best of both sides, they also occasionally quote Rachel for comedic relief.
ROTFLMAO! Yea, RealClearPolitics is not "biased" - what is it they say? They think the media is "liberal biased and anti-Christian" and they want to "fix" that???? Maybe YOU should step out of YOUR echo chamber!!!
I can't want to see how long it takes for the mud slinging to start. I would really enjoy hearing BOTH sides present answers to critical questions concerning this country. This not about charm, personality, and ability to get certain votes, it is about the COUNTRY and where each team plans to take it. LISTEN, and then judge the candidate based on his words regarding pertinent issues that will effect us all. The more venom and hatred that is spewed, the more determined the people that back those on the receiving end will become to gather around their leader to protect him. We, on the other hand, appear hateful, ignorant, and mean spirited when we sling slurs at the other side. Let's try to be civil, before a civil war starts in this country.
"Romney isn't even trying to reach out to moderate voters."
I think this is intentional. With about 40% of the electorate self id'ing as conservative, he only needs to pull 10% of the remaining pool of non liberals which is about 40% - just one out of four. There are easily enough non ideologues that understand we are in an unsustainable fiscal position to vote for a much different approach given the very limited success we are currently experiencing in job creation. With the tea party fully engaged this approach can easily win, especially with Obama's job approval numbers stuck in the low 40's. From a brand standpoint it's much better to be specific about who you are and what you stand for. Given the vagueness of Romney before this pick, it looks like a brilliant strategic choice. And it creates his best chance for victory.
He will be very easy to attack because of this choice, but it might not matter one whit.
You are right, we are in an unsustainable fiscal position, however, I believe most of the voters in the country realize that this isn't Obama's fault, rather the fault of the 112th "do nothing" Congress. Certainly Congress has a MUCH LOWER approval rating than does Obama.
What the Tea Party wants is for the Congress to do to the United States what Germany has done to Greece - impose SEVERE fiscal austerity on the country when what the economy needs right now is STIMULUS. Once we have the economy back on its feet, then austerity would be appropriate and necessary.
If you have learned NOTHING else from what has happened in Greece and Spain, you should have learned that "austerity" creates a "cycle" of destruction. When there are huge unemployment rates, the government can't pay for the functions it HAS to do which increases its debt which increases the unemployment rate, which means the government has even less money to pay for the functions it HAS to do and goes farther in debt, on and on to collapse!
I agree, it is better to be specific about who you are and what you stand for - that has been Romney's greatest failing. Now, we KNOW what the RR team plans to do and OH YEA, it WILL be easy to attack and it WILL matter.
There just aren't that many Tea Party supporters out there - no matter WHAT they claim. The Republicans have lost the young, the poor, most of the middle class, the black, the hispanic, the women, and now for SURE, the senior's vote. About all that is left that they CAN count on is a few white middle class males and upper class males - do you really think they are over 50% of the voters in this country?
BTW, people I know that used to call themselves "Tea Party" are now rethinking their positions because they are coming to realize how harmful to this country's economy those people in Congress have been!!
Thanks to Obama, the Democrats will be in the minority for atleast a generation.
I haven't seen liberals so giddy since the Republicans nominated that washed up old actor from California.
In 2008 Obama restorted to smearing Bill Clinton as a RACIST to beat Hillary. This year he has a already had Gov Romney called a Felon and accused him of being reponsible for a woman's death from cancer in the most lying, dishonest, dispicable ad in history. So the lies have already started about Rep Ryan. After 3 1/2 years of Obama the nation remains stuck with the Worst UNEMPLOYMENT in history, more DEBT than in the history of the world, and the highest level of POVERTY since 1965. LBJ launched the war on POVERTY, and Obama lost it. The options are to continue with the failed, disastrous, divisive Obama Presidency, or to go with someone with the experience and new ideas to reverse the damage Obama has inflicted on our nation. Romney and Ryan can get the economy and jobs growing again, and reduce the nation destroying DEBT that Obama has run up. Given the disaster of his Presidency Obama's only hope is to run the most negative, hateful, lying compaign in all history. Something he has shows he has no problem doing!
Economy will be up and running through and to other countries
Dream team: One would baptize dead Jews, the other would kill medicare/social-security!
With the Ryan pick it seems that the GOP is more interested in pursuing ideology rather than winning. And if the GOP doesn't win this year, they are going to have an even harder time in 2016...1) the economy will have bounced back, 2) younger voters are increasingly leaning Democratic, and 3) a woman with a lot of broad experience and connections will likely be heading the Dem ticket. The GOP is gonna have some serious internal conversations redefining their identity.

Why on earth are the democrats so happy? Don't they know how stupid, ignorant and shallow the American voter is? (they voted for Dubya twice!)
Ryan is young and good looking, Americans will vote for him any day over Biden. Thats how JFK was elected
No. It was much more complicated than that. JFK's election came about because of several things. Nixon's performance in the debates, because he didn't understand that new-fangled "TV" thing. Nixon was tied to a past that was beginning to be irrelevant to people; Kennedy was the guy who was going to take us into the future.
No Taxes and No Economy
Economic Issues Chased Up a Glass Hills by Unicorn (wearing suction cups?)
The Ryan plan is a glorious elaborate and complicated plan that it will provide the talking points for every moment of time until we reawake after the election. As it consumes time and campaign resources, the few voters who still listeners who can remain awake, will be hard pressed to remember what exactly we are having an election for. When it is more likely than ever that the before and after look the same.
(I claim that it is a little too much like the wars in the Middle East, when the dust and debris settle for the umpteenth time, the before picture looks like the after picture, as in Afghanistan and Iraq. These places are lost to unchanging time giving is the same sense that we should have noticed when we interceded with wars where the enemies and the allies look identical, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq-1, Irag-2, and Afghanistan. Then when we are seeing in the mirror, we are surprised to see people we don't know; get angry with them and crack goes the mirror. It’s the sameness we cannot recognize.)
The first of many aspects the complicated plan has; one is that it will suppress the vote, by having everyone one reach for the "On switch to the Off button". The voters who greet the same person at the polling place as they have for the past 25 years, will then be told, that your voter ID is incorrect.
Along those same lines; it the greatest illusion to distract voters with tax policy, fiscal issues, government administrations, revenue projections, after all C-Span was boring enough when Congress was actually trying bamboozle the public, where now we are entertained by obfuscation. Campaigns are to distract, amuse and disgust, so that the voter needs a good drink to gain a good intuition of who to vote for. Campaign materials are like annual reports for corporations or the stock prospectus, are to be digested over an expensive meal and goodly supply of dry wine. Ultimately you purchase the product you don't like, know nothing about, but need to bond with your fellow citizen in pointless a ritual.
It would be telling, and it may come to pass that, the master of tax evasion, Mitt Romney, will pass along as the unseeing believer, that the country as made great by those able see future derivative trades in advance, to buy low and to sell high. To rise occasionally from the pool side and make a few calls to clear a deal or have a friend or two change a tax law here and there.
(The horse dance in the gleaming glitter spread on the monopoly board, where the crimes of the banker go noticed, and unicorns prance invisibly in the moon light keeping nakedness unseen. No Mr. Romney, those that did build the country, did the real work, from the top to the bottom, from the idea to the designs to the floor sweeper. The financier has made a hefty fee for borrowing from one set of the wealthy to make a loan to the business man, making sure that no form of assistance is possible without the banker. In your mind a huge pile of capital, made even higher, into a glass hill, needs only charm and galloping steed to dance to the top, with foot mounted suction cups hidden unseen. (If capitalism was needed to create growing businesses, then why would not banks spring up in the desert to water the land? They don't, because capitalism is just an outgrowth from previously successful businesses, who don't want to build glass hills for galloping steeds. Glass hills are fine for fairy tales, white stallions and handsome princes, but have little use if they cannot move (capital must flow like the force, Americans.)
It would be double telling, and it too may come to pass that, the accountant skills, Paul Ryan, will pair the pennies of tax and spend in holy matrimony. That the nation was built on precise actuarial skills, that coming up with the penny amount of what goes in also goes out. The tax system would not be system if the system did not please the wealthy speculators, thus the tax system is not a penny accounting system of dot nought, nought, but one of meetings and high level contacts, of high times of persuasion, where the tentative and actual become the sameness. The Tax system is just one of the manipulative tools of government, it is the hands on the levers of power, not fill-in in the form and file promptly idea of how government should work. It should not be took hard to figure that a fix tax on all received as income payable on transaction (pay check to pay check, stock to stock) is both simple to create, but because it is only one system fixed, it cannot be adjusted by the hands on the levers of power. The tax system has to be the hands on the levers of power, there is no try, do or do not.
There could not be better pair to run for office to support the corrupt tax system; we have the earnest and honest thief, Mitt Romney, as guilty as profit could ever indict, and duo well matched with the earnest and deliberate determination of the executioner. The test of this marriage will be when Mitt Romney releases his tax returns so that we may see Paul Ryan perform an audit in public.
The master of fantasy island investments called to task by the Gnome the tax wits.
Each day left before the election, or "right before" if so inclined, suggest a new product, a new business, or service that would produce a profit, a moderate profit, a good profit, an extraordinary profit or an exceptional profit. Then figure out the costs to allow each stage to develop, the cash flow of the investment and return at each point to assess your progress, slippage, or where speed up is possible. Make a business plan, present it to investors, and then, find out where the problems are, and then fix them. Repeat as needed, focus on your business, except for 30 minutes a day where keep up with the election promises.
If you don't hear that capital is being made available, that idle cash and off shore assets are not being taxed to force movement of capital into investments then stop don't waste any more time. If you do not hear the engine of capitalism starting and running, then perhaps you should just get on that tax unicorn and ride up the glass hill, suction cups and all, then ride into the Sunset because what is broke is not going to be fixed.
Where's the Economy in the Buget Plan, remember the Economy, the one that has to grow?
Ryan will destroy Biden during the dabates.
Obama has no budget, no accomplishments, and a foolish belief that more spending is all we need to get out of this mess.
Increasing the tax rate on the "rich" only garners a small amount that can never cover his ridiculous plan of free healthcare, back seat foreign policy, manufacturing bailouts, union porliferation, special interest love ins, extreme environmental regulations, and military degradation.
If you fools are right about the election, in a few years we will be stagnating like Europe, unable to overcome the entitlement tsunami coming to our shores.
R Squared at least gives us an alternative to fixing this problem... a plan to balance the budget.... a plan to create jobs not just cash for clunckers....a plan to infuse Americas needs into a fair foreign policy and finally a plan to reclaim the American dream that Obama could care less about.
Do we just keep spending? I would love to sell credit cards to all you Libs....
Ryan's plan doesn't stop deficit spending, it just transfers more wealth to the wealthy. Just another shell game for the banksters.
Ryan is a shallow, unserious person. He has no more intellectual heft than Palin. The only reason wingers take him seriously is that he has a penis and he has good hair. Biden is going to skin Ryan and nail his hide to the wall.
You libs enjoy a few laughs now, but the truth is a ham sandwich could defeat the Great Dissembler and Plugs Biden in November. The reasonable majority of Americans are dying to know how this republic can avoid the fiscal cliff that is surely coming, thanks to a president who has given us more debt than ALL previous presidents COMBINED...without any discernable progress towards recovery. Then there's also a number of us who didn't think our society needed radical transformatiom...but we're just icing on te cake to make the margin of the landslide all the greater. Ryan is going to mop the floor with the likes of you, get ready...and don't say you weren't warned. The good news is, even though you lose in the short term, you win with the rest of us when we all of us have a chance to avoid national insolvency when Romney/Ryan tackle the problem with a majority Republican House & Senate. The road back from the edge of oblivion won't be pleasant, but please remember that BHO made the road back full of enormous potholes even his paving projects couldn't fill.
I guess you'll be surprised when "half a ham sandwich" Romney and Ryan are watching Obama's second inauguration next January. Unless you believe that millions of Americans are going to surrender their Social Security and Medicare benefits without a fight.
The addition of Ryan to the ticket makes it increasingly likely that Florida will end up in the Obama column. Lots of folks over 65 down there, and they don't take kindly to threats to their main source of income and health security.
Unless he can pull Florida out, there are relatively few paths to victory for Romney-Ryan. Obama can lose Colorado, Wisconsin, Ohio, Iowa, and Virginia and still win comfortably.
No, You Didn't Do That!
Ironic that republicans embrace such deep-seated individualistic philosophy yet they are the ones always clamoring for the government to provide tax breaks and tax cuts...especially among those who shouldn't need any assistance. If they really want to claim individual responsibility, then they shouldn't look for tax "handouts" either.
Mitt Romney, choosing Paul Ryan, just put himself in a culdesac. Between the two of them they won't be able to exit the "elites who pay no taxes" meme. Both have prospered via government benefits, both directly asked for and were granted a leg up on their prospects. Their lack of self-awareness is actually going to be painful to watch.
A Demo patsy claimed that his party is "giddy" about the selection of Ryan. Uh-huh. Joe Biden is going to run into a human shredding machine when he meets Paul Ryan in a debate. Children under the age of 10 should not be allowed to watch. Biden can't debate his way out of a paper sack.
Just an observation:
Since Ryan leaned heavily on Social Security after his father's death, and now wants to gut the socialist program, he can fairly be identified as an "I got mine" conservative.
Since Romney was born with a very silver spoon in his mouth,
the GOP ticket for the White House is . . . "I got mine" and "I've always had mine.
Rachel
Only people who watch MSNBC think Ryan is extreme - that is what? About 900,000 people. Since they all live in DC, NY, and CA, they are not going to have any effect on the election.
Steve Benen writes this blog, not Rachel.
Don't forget the women, the blacks, the hispanics, the young, the poor, seniors........ but you don't care about them either, do you?
have you been watching any other news coverage than Rachel? its blatantly obvious for everyone ... once ryan's political inclinations are released Rachel won't even need to cover this anymore
Always fun to drop into the looney pen and see what's on the minds of the mindless libs. Can't help but notice that you're a bit stirred up by the Ryan announcement today. I've been reading stuff like radical, and Medicare crushing, granny off the cliff, etc. Seems like you're really shook up about this. Well take comfort that your disguised delight is very transparent to those outside of the pen who really can think. Of course, we realize you're kind of in a box on this. What else are you going to say, "OMG!! A budget balancer!! We can't possibly contend with that in the face of the voters!! Tell the voters he's a depraved lunatic that will take all their government goodies and freebies away from them because we told them the evil rich people would pay all the bills."
News flash for you libbos... everybody figured out your nonsense a long time ago. We got as good of a start in 2010 as we could have hoped for, and this year we'll take another big step(s). In the end, we will extinct your senseless, filthy progressive uprising... every last bit of it but it will still take a while. With R & R, we have the guys who can get a good start on it and we shall not rest until you are off the radar for good. Get used to the idea that real change is on the way. You may not think it's hope, but everybody else does. I'll drop back by in November to see how you're handling it. For now, I'd start taking extra meds if I were you.
Don't you just love right wing posters coming in and belittling liberals like they are still in middle school. Just insecure bullies that never grew up. Too bad Rupert won't let you post on his Fox propaganda website.
finaledit ... Have you noticed that they've dropped in for a little rhetorical hit and run? Not once, as far as I can see, have they been willing (I would add "able," but the ability probably isn't there) to respond to any of the comments made about their posts. Not that they're capable on engaging in a dialogue that involves facts and logic.
I've gone on several right wing sites and have posted responses to the wild ravings there. Then, I've gone back and discussed their responses to my posts. That's why those of us on the left do. Too bad it doesn't seem to extend to the other side.
Gotta love their projection, though. They gaze at their reflection in a hand mirror and believe they are looking at the whole world.
Yeah, well, from what I can tell, they think they've won the 'debate' simply by being obnoxious and hostile. Why would they feel the need to stick around for an actual discussion? They've dropped their load, their job is done, so they fly away gloating over the devastation they've wrought (never sticking around long enough to notice that their dud bombs simply bury themselves in the ground).
Well... let's face it guys, surely you'll admit that in the past, anyone "engaged" in the debate with the Dims who didn't come to their terms with the terribly distorted set of ideas that they always label as 'facts', just gets reduced into some name calling pizzing contest. But if you really like the debate as you say you do, maybe we can agree on this... the addition of Ryan to the GOP ticket at least does this for all of us: it will put the real debate front and center to the voters and let them choose. That is the way it is supposed to work, and hopefully that is the way it will.
Although there was a little questionable campaigning tactics from Mitt during the Florida primary, neither of these guys are sewer dwellers so common in the Democratic party these days. They just aren't going there with you because it disgraces their own integrity without which, what do you really have to offer? What mandate remains? They will put the Obama record of failure on trial for the American electorate in all of its glaring and disappointing detail, they will propose some solutions (not necessarily the final answers) to those problems, and then let the voters decide. If Obama/Biden wants to get re-elected, they will need to do the same.
What the Dims will NOT get away with is the stonewalling/petty distraction/personal insulting/non-solution/blame game orientation they have had on the table ever since they got into office first with the congress in 2006, and then later with Obama in 2008. You don't have to take my word for it, but you will NOT get away with it with the electorate this year so best stop it now and get to the business of winning the confidence of the voters because you have a huge amount of catching up to do.
Most freedom loving Americans despise the current state of the union because it all seems so avoidable. We have so many problems to contend with and we're not making any progress with any of them, in fact, they are all worse than they were just a few years ago. What scares voters is that it seems like the Dims want it to be this way. They think wht has been done in the last four years is the right direction to take. They can see that what they do has made things much worse yet they persist with the progressive nonsense that hurts everybody... rich and poor, black and white, men and women, libs and cons, everybody is worse off than they used to be. You will have to reconcile this record with the voter for Obama to get re-elected.
I think the voters are so distrusting of the Dims (and some of the old Repubs too) at this point that it will be very difficult to make your case. So many Americans are in terrible straits out there and our government is making things worse at every turn. The voters are going to hold Obama accountable for it no matter how much the administration and campaign tries to deflect blame.
R-R knows this, the conservatives and independents that are going to elect them think the federal government is 5 times bigger than it should be and is involved in 100 times more than it should be. We get the daily news stories of the waste and fraud of the GSA, the thousands of illegal tas returns ripping off the government for tax refunds they should not have, etc. etc. The government needs the massive downsizing you mysteriously fear and our survival in the future as a free nation depends on it. It's not just Republican folly, it is imperative for our way of life and the ONLY answer that will steer us clear of the current crisis already on full display in Europe for all to see.
Are the Dims going to be part of the solution, or continue at full speed to destroy the once proud nation we all enjoyed? My prediction is that after a slight relapse of good judgement the electorate showed in 2006 and 2008, the voters are going to continue the corrective action they began in 2010. Do you agree? If not, what rationale will you offer to stay the course we're on, a very tough sell indeed? Remember your answers must be completely devoid of all of these: stonewalling/petty distraction/personal insulting/non-solution/blame game.
altster,
WOW! What a load of vitriol (aka bullcrap)! Now that you've dumped on us, do you feel 10 lbs lighter?
Your post sounds a LOT like sour grapes! Did you apply for Federal jobs and get rejected???
If you think the Federal Government is too big, your problem isn't with the Democrats, but with your own party! The last president to reduce the size of the Federal Government was CLINTON, a DEMOCRAT! Why don't you look up what Bush and Reagan did with the Federal Government or is that too hard for you?
The rest of your post is just tripe from an addled brain - makes me wonder if everyone needs a lobotomy just to get into the Tea Party!!!
I think you make the point about how the left really feels on quality debate. As I suspected, you will have a haard time making your case. God bless.
altster,
Coming here and calling us "Dims" and spewing nonsense was your idea of "quality debate"?
You people never cease to amaze me!!!
A Demo patsy has claimed that the selection of Ryan has made party leaders "giddy" (with glee). Uh-huh. When Joe Biden meets Paul Ryan in a debate, Biden is going to run into a human shredding machine. Children under age 10 should not be allowed to watch. Biden can't debate his way out of a paper sack.
So nice you had to say it twice (#87)? Or can you just not remember where you've already trolled with your cut and paste comments?
I thought you needed to hear it twice.
As for "cut and paste," you deserve credit for a fertile imagination.
