Speaking as a national candidate for the first time, Paul Ryan, reading from his teleprompter, told supporters he's "thrilled to be a part of America's comeback team." It was right around that time the Obama campaign unveiled its own new name for the Republican ticket: "The Go Back Team."
Indeed, Team Obama unveiled this video right around the time the GOP event in Virginia was wrapping up. (It appears to be a video intended for the web, not broadcast.)
With this in mind, it's worth keeping in mind that a GOP strategist told NBC News this morning that Romney's agenda is "not an embrace, line by line, of the Ryan plan." CNN reported something similar, noting Romney talking points saying the campaign has not embraced the Ryan agenda as its own.
It's way too late to play little shell games like these. Romney has endorsed the Ryan plan several times, and this morning, literally made Ryan his running mate.
If Team Romney wanted to put some distance between themselves and Ryan's radical congressional budget plan, they should have thought about that before this morning.

I hoping you can book Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) because I'm confused about "one side X and other side says Y" with regards to what, if anything, Wyden did with Rep. Ryan on Medicare.
Richman -"The tax code is patently unfair: Many of the deductions and preferences in the system -- which serve to narrow the tax base -- were lobbied for and are mainly used by a relatively small group of mostly higher-income individuals." IS ABSOLUTELY SO. It's relative to the meaning of the word fair.
R&R plan to remove the deduction for interest paid on a home loan to pay for removing, reducing to zero the only tax R pays, the cap gains tax. The logic is obvious. The BETTER CLASS OF PEOPLE pay cash for their homes so they don't get a mortgage interest deduction. Is that fair? All we need now is to decide the National Association of Realtors and Home Builders Association are, "a relatively small group." OK, he's half right.
Wonder what the ultra conservative National Association of Realtors has to say about taking the mortgage interest deduction away? R&R don't have a big tax break for them yet. Probably commissions collected by RE brokers will be classified as capital gains and not taxed at all. Home builders already only pay cap gains tax.
ho-lee-cow I'm afraid you ain't saw nothing yet compared to what's coming no matter which way politics break. There's a lot of crazies out there and they know their 2nd ammendment rights.

Ryan's Shrewd Budget Payday
Exclusive: The congressman stands to make money from his stakes in four businesses that lease land to energy companies which would benefit from $45 billion in tax breaks and subsidies in his proposed budget. Daniel Stone reports. (Daniel Stone of Newsweek)
When House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan unveiled the GOP blueprint for cutting government spending, he asked Americans to make sacrifices on
everything from Medicare to education, while preserving lucrative tax
subsidies for the booming oil, mining and energy industries.
It turns out a constituency within his own personal investments stood to
benefit from those tax breaks, Newsweek and The Daily Beast have learned.
The financial disclosure report Ryan filed with Congress last month and
made public this week shows he and his wife, Janna, own stakes in four family
companies that lease land in Texas and Oklahoma to the very energy companies
that benefit from the tax subsidies in Ryan's budget plan.
Ryan's father-in-law, Daniel Little, who runs the companies, told Newsweek
and The Daily Beast that the family companies are currently leasing the land
for mining and drilling to energy giants such as Chesapeake Energy, Devon, and
XTO Energy, a recently acquired subsidiary of ExxonMobil…
Romney as Audit Chair Saw Marriott Son of BOSS Shelter Defy IRS.
During Romney's tenure as a Marriott director, the company repeatedly utilized complex tax-avoidance maneuvers, prompting at least two tangles with the Internal Revenue Service, records show. In 1994, while he headed the audit committee, Marriott used a tax shelter known to attorneys by its nickname: "Son of BOSS."

Paul Ryan with his ideological thoughts must live in a fantasy world, where he thinks if people just live to fend for yourself that everything will be perfect than. Perhaps on this, we should call Ryan an idiot, since no one is perfect and to depend on a person’s human nature only would bring a total disaster. Of course, the rich probably would think it was great, but everybody else would be living in misery, despair and death. To actually think you can trust that people will treat you right is an illusion, because most certainly people will get screwed and be treated less than second class citizens. Romney and Ryan by their own discussions and actions have proven their corruption and own selfish interests. Look what these 2 men have done that is representative of the GOP/Republican Party, they didn’t do anything to really help people, except to use people to help themselves only. Romney and Ryan only got one idea in mind keep doing for me and forget about anybody else. If you are not rich, you are nothing and not worthy enough to make any choices that pertain to yourself. Romney and Ryan fit a severe dictator class of making everybody else just serve their needs. There is 2 types of politicians, the first who goes into politics to become wealthy and only serve their selfish interests and the second goes into politics to actually help all people. Which do you think these Republicans, extremists of hatred, Romney and Ryan serve?
If it were only so black-and-white as to accurately identify politician type. If only we could all agree that Republicans couldn't have done all this without help, witless or not, from the Dems since they've had the fear of Reagan in them 30 years ago.
Never cared for Reagan and never will. To me, Reagan was just an actor pushing lies and making things worse for America and the world. Reagan was just a paid off politician doing the extreme wealthy's bidding at the cost of everybody else.
"True Conservatives" never cared for Reagan either.
Here is a question for Romney and Ryan, are you that dang stupid or just so corrupt that you cannot even understand the human nature of people? And can you not understand how totally you are just serving your own self interests, instead of for everybody?
Romney may be an anthropomorphic exception, but to me the "conservatives" tend to have a more visceral understanding of human nature that makes a people connection that "liberals" tend to intellectualize (quotation marks due to questionable application of definitions).
The Romney-Ryan plan is clear class warfare. Let's give more money to those who don't need more money at all and take away from those in need so they have no resources whatsoever. We don't have death panels (that we know of) but we can let people die in the street as long as we don't have to watch. (We won't see it because the media won't cover it.)
Where did we get these people and how did our Democracy become a monopoly game? It's not just this election. It's the fact that we have allowed evil to incorporate itself in our culture. We need major reform and a legal system that protects people, not hold them down so they can be robbed piece by piece until they have nothing.
Go figure. We are in a civil war again.
"...give more money to those who don't need more money at all and take away from those in need..."
You mean like like Clinton's 1999 Citicorp Relief Act and 2000 Commodites Act giving to those who already have and the 1996 Welfare Reform Act taking away from those who have not?
The Civil War never ended politically. In fact, it started with the Loyalists of Colonial times.
Conservadem clinton still makes me want to puke , I never voted for the guy , he stopped here in iowa in 1992 , rallying union voters , he was asked what he thought of NAFTA at the rally , he said he had no opinion on it
I told my fellow workers he would pass nafta right after he got into office , they said I was full of @!$%# , they were eating crow by jan of 1993
Since Nixon, Clinton has had more major conservative legislation passed than any president. Nixon had the most liberal passed.
If...
Then perhaps Mitt will tell us which parts of the Ryan plan his agenda DOES embrace and which parts it rejects. I'm not holding my breath...
Hey! We're not supposed to talk about his policies, they can't be scored or interpreted, apparently! We're also not supposed to talk about his policies as governor. Or his business experience. Or his religious views. Or his taxes. Or his views on social issues.
In fact, let's all just talk about Obama's transcripts! Obama stealing from Medicare! Obama is the Antichrist!
Texas needs to get rid of their Senator Hutchison, she is one that is so blatantly is worthless and a big liar. If she actually did something that really helped people, it would be too shocking to even see. You can see how she is so much just for the extreme wealthy as she has lined her pockets. How much money has she put in her pockets to be so deceptive and a liar?
Republicans must be very confident that their attempts to suppress the vote and rig the election are going to work. I mean Paul Ryan? At least Bachman would have provided a few good laughs.
Maphi, when told by David Gregory (MEET THE PRESS) that republicans lose on 'social issues', SWalker said, "In the past [yes] ...."
This is what Walker told that billionaire woman (exposé) who wants right to work laws in Wisconsin: 'We have an opportunity NOW...."
Republicans are trying to reformat America to 1900-1929 America.
(Now, David Gregory is interrupting David Axelrod.)
You could almost see a little gleam in Gregory's eye when he announced the "pick" of Rmoney was Pryin' (money and from our hands and putting into their pockets). What a combo… eye roll
Pryin'/Rmoney 2012 … sheesh
We are a Country that has demonstrated to the world in the past, that we are leaders of Democracy and champions of Human Rights Issues. Our citizens have given their life, have lost limbs, been wounded and suffered emotion and physical scars to defend Democracy and human injustices on foreign soil. We must be seen now as the biggest hypocrites, we tell others how to govern yet we suppress the Vote in our own Country to ensure that there is a Republic Regime controlling our Country.
The Voter ID laws affect groups that historically vote Democratic and there is no rampart voter fraud in this country as proven by President Bush’s 5 year investigation. Pennsylvania for instance admitted in court documents that they have no Voter Fraud nor did they expect it for 2012 elections. At a Republican State Committee meeting Turzai listed the biggest accomplishments of the Republican-led legislature1, stating: "Pro-Second Amendment? The Castle Doctrine, it's done. First pro-life legislation —
abortion facility regulations — in 22 years, done. Voter ID, which is gonna
allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania, done." In
Ohio those Counties that lean towards voting Republican are having extended
voting hours. However, those Counties that lean toward voting Democratic, they will not be having extended voting hours, because there was a tie and the Ohio’s Republican Attorney General has decided in favor of Republican Party. Whatever
happed to equal protection under the law?
Grover Norquist made the following statement concerning Mitt Romney as President. “All we have to do is replace Obama. ... We are not auditioning for fearless leader.
We don't need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what
direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. ... We just need a president to sign
this stuff. We don't need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership
now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be
coming out of the House and the Senate.” “The requirement for president?’ “Pick
a Republican with enough working digits to handle a pen to become president of
the United States. This is a change for Republicans: the House and Senate doing
the work with the president signing bills. His job is to be captain of the team, to sign the legislation that has already been prepared.” So the Republican Party wants control of all three branches of government, those of us who are Democrats and Independents will not have any say in the laws and policies of our Country? What the Republican Party, wants as stated by Grover Norquist is a Regime not a Democracy. (Regime: controlling group: any controlling or managing group, or the system of control and management adopted by it. Also a Government of a particular country, especially one that is considered to be oppressive.)
We give foreign aid to other Countries for humanitarian reasons: that is, we wish to relieve human suffering because of famines or natural disasters, such as earthquakes, floods, etc.; and we give aid for economic development. But yet the Romney/Ryan budget will make deep cuts to the programs that assist our poor, elderly, sick and children? Oh but wait, we will be increasing our Military Budget so we can go to war against Countries who want to deny Democracy to their own or threaten someone else’s Democracy. Who is going to fight for our Democracy?
How do Countries view us when we put our government up for sale to the highest bidder and fix elections by suppressing the votes of a political party with different views?
We are and pay for being the world's police of democracy as a mechanism for capitalism.
Well Romney certainly did a good job of changing the conversation. The Ryan pick has pulled all the attention away from the mysterious tax returns. Wouldn't a super wealth tax increase and a clampdown on those super loopholes for the super rich collect more than a bit to reduce the deficit? Also when Ryan cited budget cuts in 1986 as a model for today, the context was certainly missing comparing the two time periods (somehow I think ten years of war and occupation in the middle east, combined with bush tax cuts at the same time, 9/11 and larger than normal disaster relief during the period, might be a factor too). Ya think? Trickle down doesn't work no matter when it's been tried, well accept for those at the top of the wealth pile who benefit.
Now comes the persuasion media shower!
I think that Gov. Romney's choice of Paul Ryan as his running mate is the best thing that could have happened not only to the Democrats but to the country at large. The reason I believe that is because now we will be able to see political ads and hear debates that will concentrate on the issues that affect us. Once Americans learn the difference between the two parties' policies and plans, the choice will be clear.
The Paul Ryan choice will allow the Democrats to focus on what the Ryan budget would do, and why that plan is bad for Americans. At the same time, the Democrats can concentrate on getting the message out about the Affordable Health Care Act; there is still a lot of education that needs to be done about that. Once Americans understand all of the benefits of the Affordable Health Care Act, they will definitely be in favor of it. And any Democratic candidate who doesn't take advantage of this gift is very foolish indeed. This is a golden opportunity to educate the public about the differences between the two political parties. And I have never seen such a striking difference between the two parties in my life.
The Mitt Ryan plan 101...example
Let's say you weigh 500 pounds. Doctor Mitt Ryan orders you to lose 300 pounds in 7 days. You say "Dr. Mitt Ryan, isn't that a little dangerous?"
Dr. Mitt Ryan replies, "not for me."
You reply, "I'm getting a second opinion."
Dr. Obama says, "it might be prudent if you lose a few pounds a month until you reach your target weight."
Although its just an example it really is a stark contrast as to each sides position on your well being. Obama wants you to lose the weight but in a reasonable fashion. Mitt Ryan wants to take a chainsaw to your back side.
Mitt Romney picked his running mate,
And sealed his political fate.
Party leaders urged "go wild choosing a veep",
Rank and file republicans can only weep.
Romney listened to their words,
And fell on his own sword.
Romney pulled a McCain,
And Republicans will lose again.

didn't you hear it? romney already introduced ryan as the next president of the u.s. hahaha...it just proves to my conclusion that ryan will be the cheney to romney as it was him to bush... bush was the president but in reality, it was cheney who was running everything bec. bush was just a puppet then and it would happen again to the romney- ryan team if ever they win.. god forbids.
Just finished watching the clip from Meet the press from this morning
At First i was like who is this 14 year old boy on Meet the Press then i realized it was Madcow this should be interesting
I couldn't stop laughing so i will ask Madcow the same Question that Rich Lowery asked as a response for her trying to trash Ryan for his proposal of fixing medicare
"what is your opinion of Obama cutting 700 billion from medicare"
you should have seen it Madcow fell apart like a cheap 2 dollar watch. she refused to answer she had no answer she got caught in her own hypocrisy
My advice for you Madcow is stay off of the Sunday news shows. you are 0 for 2. last time you curled up into a ball and cried leave me alone. its no place for a 14 year old boy stay on your little show on MSNBC where you can spin your propaganda lies and hypocrisy with out getting challenged and leave the Sunday shows to the men and women who can defend their position with out falling apart
1. Fact Check: Questionable claims when Mitt Romney introduces running mate
TRFjr: A balanced link (above) on the Medicare matter as regards MRomney and his new...mate.

Funny TRF
That's not how I saw it!!! Here are the REAL facts on Medicare:

Why are all you trolls trying to spin that story about Obama cutting Medicare??? Is it all you have? BTW It's total BS!
Need a cogent response to $700B Medicare cuts lie Daily Kos August 12.
Excerpt:
That's another lie trotted out by the Romney camp and its $500B not $700B." Yes, Obama made the cuts but the cuts were from Medicare Advantage, a Republican give away to the Insurance companies, cost controls at Hospitals and by plugging fraud waste abuses. Ryan then shamelessly took these savings and inserted it into his Budget and all the Repubs voted for it. See David/George, its easy to fall for their talking points if you don't do your homework.
Is this the best any of you can do is link propaganda from liberal web sites
Daily Kos CBS news and some medical group I never herd of probably a Soros founded organization
Don't any of you have a thought of your own or do you just parrot what you read from DNC approved sites like zombies caused by to much Obama Koolaid
Oncearepublican! The link* you provided is the bomb! I love this sentence from the article:
The truth is, Medicare works.
Thanks again. :-)

Calbab,
My pleasure!!
TRFidiot:
Yea, I know, you have no respect for anyone or anything that helps anyone!! Kind of why you are a troll, isn't it?
Thanks from me also, once. And that TRF has nothing but rumors and "probablys" to spread lies and more lies. Just showing how much of a grip propagandists have on their minds.
This video should sooooo be on tv.
I was a little suprised that on MTP this morning when Lowry kept repeating that Obama cut 700 billion from medicare in the ACA and Rachael did not discuss that point at all. It's really not an accurate statement.
It was AWESOME watching President Romney and Vice President Ryan speak to the many thousands of people who came out to restore America. What was even more fun is watching Rich Lowery take down Rachel MadCow on Meet the Press this morning. MadCow refused to answer the question that ODumbass was robbing seniors of $720 billion dollars with ODumboCare! I love it...going to be a Romney/Ryan landslide! No Plan...No Clue...NOBAMA 2012!
Daviddumbas...oh never mind that!
So the cuts in Medicare have jumped from a faux reporting of 700B to 720B since this morning? (See your comment, Daviddumbas....never mind the name!)
As to your Rachel Maddow...moment...you and TRFjr! You guys have made such a pretty mess, and I am glad you didn't get any on us
Funny, what I saw was Ryan lying about Romney and Romney lying about Ryan - to be expected I guess. Too bad people like you are too stupid to know a lie from the truth.
Oh and about Lowry? All I saw before I turned it off was Lowry bullying and refusing to let Rachel speak. And, oh, btw, if Lowry ever pointed his finger at me like he did Rachel, I'd have broken it off! I thought Rachel showed admirable restraint.
But people like YOU really LIKE it when someone BULLIES someone else, don't you - no sense of decency in YOUR world, is there? Now go back to watching Romney lie - I'm betting that really gives you "goosebumps"!
Reading this blog makes me laugh. First of all, Rachel Maddow got her ass whipped today by Lowery. Even some of the DemWits on this blog said her sorry ass didn't defend what she was saying. Google ObamaCare/Medicare...there facts are there, ODumbass is robbing seniors of $720 billion over the next 10 years to pay for Medicare...ODumbass presented 3 budgets, NONE of which garnered one vote, not even from a LibTurd Democrat. Ryan will force ODumbas to give specifics on the economy, something Odumbass knows nothing about. Hell, even Democrats are coming out today saying Ryan will force ODumbass to talk about the economy and they are afraid...they know ODumbass doesnt have the brain power to present any credible budget. I'm loving watching you sorry ass LibTurds implode! No Plan..No Clue...NOBAMA 2012!
Maybe it's just me, but I can't see Mitt playing Bush to Ryan's Cheney.
Neither of them seem to have the brains or drive to take the lead in anything. Who was the idiot who thought choosing a policy wonk to be an attack dog would be a good idea? The last time I saw Ryan he was at a town hall being booed by his own supporters over Medicare vouchers.
Mitt can't defend himself or his past. Neither can Ryan who can't defend himself either against his pork barrel spending votes for the past two decades as a Washington Insider and lobbyist. Some Dynamic Duo these two are going to make once seniors and their doctors start coming after them with canes and scaples.
Hospitals are not going to accept any worthless vouchers and we all know it. This is the looniest idea since privatizing Social Security and that was before we all lost equity in our 401ks for the second time.
Sandyh, don't leave out the 'nuns on a bus' who are trying to schedule a meeting with candidate Ryan about those shady policy proposals.
Ryan is olde to joy and Romney's capitulation to the Tea Party (Oops! They did it again). Watch with sadness: If PRyan is half the capitalist of Sarah Palin, then FOX is already formatting a show about him.
When Romney stands beside Ryan...I see RYAN. That's not the look a self-important individual like Romney wants or needs.
Typing too fast...ODumbass is robbing seniors of $720 billion over the next 10 years from Medicare to pay for ODumboCare. Obama continues to lie....42 mos of unemployment above 8%, GDP down to 1.5%, Triple A credit rating lost because of ODumbass, 1 in 6 people on welfare (higher than has ever happened in the history of America), LOWEST annual income for middle class Americans than under ANY U.S. prez in history, deficit in just 3 years has increased more than the COMBINED TOTAL of ALL U.S. prez before him. Again, Romney/Ryan will force ODumbass to give specifics about his plan to get America back on track...ODumbass wont be able to do this..he has NO plan! I live in Ohio and the people here are sick and tired of the lies of Obama. Yesterday, we had a Republican meeting in my county..usually about 200 people attend..yesterday, well over a 1,000 people attended to watch Romney announce Ryan. The Republican ground game is well on its way. In my 54 years, I have never seen the Republicans in Ohio so fired up and ready to defeat Barack ODumbass! Ohio will go for Romney, especially now with another MidWesterner on the ticket. I'm going to LOVE watching ODumbass lose in November! No Plan...No Clue...No Rachel Maddow...NOBAMA 2012!

Need a cogent response to $700B Medicare cuts lie by MysorebackFollow
Obama also did that. This seems to be essence of the Repubs response to questions on the Medicare cuts proposed by Ryan in his budget. The lie that Obama somehow stole $700B from Medicare and paid into Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare is being swallowed by the Beltway Pundits. This fraudulent point was first rolled out during Mitt's VP announcement on Saturday and was also in the Romney camp talking points that CNN unearthed. We also noticed that the Sunday Morning Shows also had this same point from the Repubs and their water carriers David Gregory, George Stephy etc. We saw the point about the $500B (not $700B) saving accruals from Medicare to the Affordable Care Act not being highlighted by Democrats in these talk shows. I wanted to scream yesterday that the Dems better prepare a good biting reponse but looks like they have not done their homework. Even Rachel Maddow, giddy after the Ryan pick seems to have lost her moorings on this.
Ideally the response should have been thus:
"That's another lie trotted out by the Romney camp and its $500B not $700B." Yes, Obama made the cuts but the cuts were from Medicare Advantage, a Republican give away to the Insurance companies, cost controls at Hospitals and by plugging fraud waste abuses. Ryan then shamelessly took these savings and inserted it into his Budget and all the Repubs voted for it. See David/George, its easy to fall for their talking points if you don't do your homework.
Not sure what the rapid response team is doing and shame on them and their high salaries if they haven't prepared the Dems who go on these shows. David Axelrod also doesn't seem to have his points written down.
The Repubs seem to be enthused by the early crowds that Ryan seems to be pulling but so was Palin.
Has anyone asked Reince Priebus if he has seen Romney's taxes? How does he know that Harry Reid is lying? Does he take Romeny's word for it?
