While the rest of the news media is busily dissecting Congressman Todd Akin's (R-Mo) jaw-dropping "legitimate rape" comments, (here and here and here) the fine folks at Fox Nation have bravely turned their gaze to other stories of crucial national import like these:
- Hank Williams Jr. Calls Obama "Muslim" Who "Hates The Military
- "We Did Build It": Small Business Owner Taunts Obama Motorcade
- School Choir Banned From Singing Because They Are Too White
- Union Guy: Our Goal Is To "Overthrow the Capitalist System and Build Communism"
- RYAN: "I Have A Bust Of Winston Churchill in My Office"
- Obama Reveals His Dream Superpower
- Obama Worried That Romney Might Get Credit For Turning Economy Around
Critical issues all. (And seriously, Fox Nation is barely touching the Akin story--it's like an infectious hantavirus for them....) But one wonders, how would the peerless artisans at Fox Nation treat a Todd Akin headline like this?
How about?
- Critics: Obama's Offensive News Conference Hits New Low
- Conservative Congressman Stands Firm Against Liberal Onslaught
- Baby Pandas Like Leaves, Naps
Now it's your turn. Take this headline: Senate Candidate's Comments on Rape Stir Outcry, give it the full Infoxication headline treatment, and we'll post samples of your genius tomorrow. Good luck!

Liberals Refuse to Allow New Method of Contraception Into Obamacare Mandate
Representative Akin suggests rapists use rohypnol to prevent female hormones from killing babies.
Republicans do not believe in Science, Sex Education, birth control or abortion. They like to keep women "barefoot & pregnant" so they can exact control over them. They don't want abortion legal even in cases of rape, incest or the life of the mother.
When an idiot Repukicon tells American women they cannot get pregnant from rape, women should come unglued!

*ahem* psst. dem4usa. Read the top of the page.
edit: my bad, L6313 got to it first.
@dudenextdoor It's ok, never hurts to repeat things like this for those who are too stupid to read an article before they post comments to it.
Congrats .... you've confirmed you are an @!$%#. Not that there was any doubt
@gblush That was harsh, but I still hope you meant dem4usa, since this is a Foxification challenge.
So Romney says he would make an exception for rape victims on abortion. Abortion which the religious labels "murder". Again, Romney tries to have it both ways, regardless of his "change of heart" comments. But what of the women who drank a bit too much wound up in the wrong bed and got pregnant unintentionally against her wishes. Oh she didn't actively resist so she is not allowed to stop the pregnancy because she might have enjoyed herself. There is a thousand shades of gray in here. Was it rape or not? Only a women should have the legitimate right to decide if she wants a pregnancy to continue or not. No church, no State, no one else. Certainly not a man. (ps. I'm male.)

what if someone said that to your mother or about your mother, how would you feel??? you are an askhole.
Did you actually read the blog post before commenting? I feel like you misunderstand what satire is.
@dem4usa "what if someone said that to your mother or about your mother, how would you feel??? you are an askhole."
Way to not read an article before you post a bunch of times...not the poster child for using your brains, are you.
dem4usa: I think Ryan Kiefer is in line with the theme of the discussion, which is to parody "the full infoxification headline treatment".
His first and third suggestions are typical of the way they claim victimization in the very way they victimize others. The second isa good example of the way they shout non-sequiters in the hope that, if they shout them loud and often enough, people will believe them. Well done, Ryan.
The heart is in the right place, just not the brain. Askhole
Ummm. he's a US Congressman who supports and will likely VOTE to deny women basic rights, based on his LUDICROUS opinion and ridiculous stupidity and ignorance of basic biology. OPINION??? Anti-abortion is an opinion. What he spewed was PURE NONSENSE that anyone who attended at least high school should know is nonsense!
@Josh Kleier I like that, can I steal it and use it a lot?
To make sure it's known, my comment above was with regard to the comments of @dem4usa
There's a lot of people very trigger happy - assume and then shoot, but don't bother reading or asking questions.

Is Malia Obama too tall?
Dang, Vixen, that was too good. You had me, and I was firing up the ol' police interceptor thinking you were trolling. I was about to serve up some Louisiana roadkill in the form of Buddy Roemer, a former governor and congressman...
I caught myself in time, but man oh man, the competition here is too tough. I'm headed back to O'Donnell...
I'd better not participate in this one anyway. In a former life I worked treatment where we would encounter sexual abuse victims of all kinds... For a d-bag like Akin not to know that one of the real horrors some victims have to deal with is "being betrayed by their bodies" (with enough shame to fill an ocean, seriously) is unconscionable.
"Obama says women who are 'legitimately raped' can't get pregnant."
Too easy.

That first one should not have the word for in it...it should read...
"Todd Akin steps aside so new Republican candidate can win Missouri race"
Also, the third one should have an apostrophe...sorry I got so Foxified I forgot grammar and typo checks...
"Medical doctor's report attacked by Liberals"
I got another one!
Akin's rape gaffe causes Liberal backlash
Todd Akin's recent comments on rape. Get the facts on Fox your legitimate news source,
War on Religion: Candidate Blasted for Religious Belief on Saving Babies
I am apalled by those comments!
And an apology doesn't hit home witih me! I was raped by three men when I was younger and it devastitated my life and for a MAN to be so callous is unforgivable in my eyes. How dare he!
I hope you mean Akin's comments, not the people in the thread who are attempting to fulfill the contest requirements by imagining how Fox Nation would attempt to twist this story into something else---hence, the fake "Fox Headlines" everyone is turning in. To be honest, I think it quite possible Fox *will* turn in a headline something like one of these entries... once they figure out how to try to spin the story to make this Akin idiot look "persecuted by the Left."
And I agree with you 110% about Akin's comments, though he's not alone in believing false and stupid things about rape: for that matter, Paul Ryan co-sponsored the bill with him attempting to reclassify "rape" as "forcible" rape (versus statutory and other kinds of rape)... which would've meant if a woman took the advice of police from classes on *trying* to avoid rape and *trying* to survive rape, and decided her best survival was NOT to fight... likely that "forcible rape" description wouldn't apply to what she endured. Thank goodness it didn't pass!
Then there's all those lovely comments from Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, Bill Napoli... well, here---look at some of them in this article:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/08/20/1122030/-Akin-wasn-t-out-of-line-he-was-toeing-the-Republican-Party-line
You have my utmost sympathy for what you suffered... I'm a survivor, too: I was molested by my grandfather when I was three. And yes, "No means NO" in EVERY situation. Period.
Carolyn may be bringing a victim's perspective to this one, and she has every right to her view that this isn't a subject for humor, even when poking fun at the ho's over at FAUX Noise...
See my post above, and thanks to both of your for your courage and sharing your tales of survival...
Okay, in the laugher department did anyone see where Bill O'Reilly spoke of his early years as a history teacher and how he was the "Original Welcome Back Kotter"?
Seriously... The next thing he's going to say is he could beat Gabe Kaplan at poker...
When I first heard Akin's comments, I was blown away by the vast insensitivity and stupidity of them. How anyone could have a thought process like that is beyond my understanding. I'm waiting to this mock Fox headline: "Liberals anger over Akin comments illegitimate".
Akin Defends Unwanted Children from Slanderous Accusations, Libs Fight Back
Todd "The Rod" Akin's only said what other Republicans don't have the balls to say, except when they are behind closed doors.
and the women are out of the room.
So true! This far right position is the position of the majority of them. Look at the utter crap they keep trying to pass. Do they think we are deaf & blind. Romney's new VP pick has the exact same belief, in fact sponsered bills with Akins. Now they are both etch a sketching, and isn't it a wonder! The right feining shock, would make a normal person regurgitate.

Liberal Establishment Cries "Rape" at Congressman Akin
So, I am interested to know..... if a woman does become pregnant as a result of a rape, does this mean that the rape was not really "legitimate?" Does this mean that if she does become pregnant, the sex was consensual? I honestly believe this is what Akin is saying....only "legitimate rape" results in non pregnancy. This is mind boggling, at best!
Don't stare directly into the stupid...it's like the dead lights from the Stephen King novel IT.
The Bible DOES say that a rapist has to marry his victim. Baby steps, y'all.
@Carrie It also says not to wear fabrics that blend wool and linen, but I don't see anyone talking about "legitimate fabrics" or trying to make federal laws that define what cloth mixes you can wear.
LOL, legitimate fabrics. (For the record, I was kidding. People pick and choose about the Bible and misinterpret the hell out of it, and it makes me feel generally disgusted by organized religion. BUT, this is freaking hilarious: http://muslimdebateinitiative.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/tattoo2.jpg )
@carriemurphy...the bible also says I should stone to death my children should they not honor me...how far with the police do you think I would get with that one...ntm....not allowing abortion for rape is a step backwards....
@heidi and L6313 that is exactly what akins means....which has angered me so that I cannot come up with a headline...other than @$#$%*(*&&%%$$#@!))(^%$^^^*^&$$# to atkins himself...and #%%$%^*(&*&&%%^*%$^^***&^&^%%% ....should it happen to anyone in his family....
I KNOW. Only an idiot would think that was a good idea.
@Carrie OMG! ROFLMAO!! THAT went straight to PINTEREST! Thank you so much for sharing that one!
@scotch43 As I said to someone else in this thread, I know how you feel, but I have learned that you have to take these people with a grain of salt and learn to laugh about the utter insanity that they believe and spread. Otherwise you will go crazy yourself, because they can't be changed or reasoned with.
